Max Mosley has been relentless and draconian about punishing those who bring the sport into disrepute.

Do you not think that is a good thing though?

Had it not been for that relentlessness, then McLaren would've won the World Constructors Championship.

don't think he'll survive this & good riddance to him.

The sport owes him a lot. As do Alonso, Häkkinen, Kubica, Schumacher/s to name a few.

The tabloid press in the UK is astonishing in its baseness. Crazy.

I don't really care about Mosely too much, but the NOTW should face some consequences for all the muckraking they do. You can't simply pry deeply into someone's personal life looking for "news".

Nevetheless, he needs to be held to the same standard he holds others. I am not one that believes his private life is mutually exclusive, not for someone in his position. I'm a partner in my company & I always keep perception in mind, even when I'm not on the clock.

It's important not to conflate things here:

1. It's not illegal to enjoy being whipped.
2. It isn't illegal to shout in German while engaging in S&M activities.
3. Didn't watch the video, so I can't comment on the "Nazi" allegations, but I don't think it's illegal to Nazi role-play either, if you aren't directly threatening (non-consensual) harm.
4. Prostitution?...I'm a Yank so I can't comment on UK prostitution laws.

So I'm not sure exactly what laws have been broken here; certainly the Nazis will be a very touchy issue with the Germans, broken laws or no, and Mosley has too many enemies for them not to leverage this.

I don't really like Mosley but it does appear that he is being railroaded out of the FIA by his enemies.

Not only is it illegal, but it's a crime that victimizes and exploits people. Most prostitutes are in forced servitude and treated miserably.

Some idiot called WindTunnel Sunday night and start espousing to Dave and Bob Varsha that prostitution is no big deal and that every man goes to hookers. Dave and Bob told that guy he's an idiot and hung up on him.

I doubt you'll find someone who disagrees here...but prostitution is legal in a number of places in Europe, and I didn't know anything about the UK legal situation (and was too lazy to Google it).

Anyway, Mosley will doubtless lose the vote of confidence on June 3. Game over.

yeah, but i'm calling 'em back first chance i get!!

Now this is top secret gossip straight from the heart of Formula One and may cause a bit of a backlash throughout the FIA. It is such a radical statement that I will have to type it in white....

Formula One is in-fact about car racing and not some old pervert being spanked and called a Nazi...

As I'm sure he does.

Max Mosely said:
As it is, a scandal paper obtained by illegal means pictures of something I did in private which, although unacceptable to some people, was harmless and completely legal. Many people do things in their bedrooms or have personal habits which others find repugnant. But as long as they keep them private, nobody objects.

Or do you think that the sexual activities, fantasies or perversions of Ron Dennis would've influenced Max Mosleys actions in Spygate?

But who are you, I or anybody to decide or indeed impose our moral (or what we consider to be) standards on others?

RaceTripper said:

Nonsense. As long as what he does outside of his professional responsibilities is not illegal, then yes it should remain mutually exclusive.

So, I presume you've never been drunk in a public place, taken drugs, used profanity, had pre-marital sex, had marital sex with the intention of enjoyment rather than procreation, had sex using contraception, broken speeds limits, tossed litter etc etc.

You are wrong.

Now there's a sweeping generalisation whenever I've read one.

What Mosley has done , has in no way whatsoever impacted his ability or responsibility as the President of the FIA. Oh, and it really wasn't all that kinky. ;)

I'm not going to address all your points other than to just say I disagree with you and leave it at that. I think Max will be gone soon enough and it'll all be moot anyway.

Thats the thing, he can do what he likes behind closed doors, as soon as it affects his job then he should be gone. This quite clearly doesn't affect his work and therefore there should be no reason for him to loose his job.

It's all a bit of fun, and I still don't care about it. It's not only tarnishing Max Mosley, but the FIA and the entire motor sport world.

Before the NOTW broke the story, who cared? The phrase 'What you don't know can't hurt you' really has never been truer.

Does it really not affect his job though? It makes him come across as a bit of a liar to me.

How hard did he try to distance himself from his father and fascist past? Now we see him apparently fooling around doing Nazi role-play with prostitutes.

It paints a very grim view of his mentality, and you don't leave your mind at home when you go to work in the morning.

17 days till the next GP...I'm finishing my grad degree in a month (writing day and night), I can't wait to move and get satellite so I can actually watch this stuff for once. It's been too long.

Probably. But if that's the case, then it sets a very, very dangerous precedent for the future doesn't it.

Does it really not affect his job though?

Does your private/sex life affect yours?

It makes him come across as a bit of a liar to me.

How so?

How hard did he try to distance himself from his father and fascist past?

Should offspring be held account, or judged by the beliefs or actions of their parents?

now we see him apparently fooling around doing Nazi role-play with prostitutes.

What Nazi element exactly?

It paints a very grim view of his mentality.

In that he likes to indulge his somewhat tame fantasies?

AH HA! I knew it!!

I'll have to get my jollies somewhere else!

yeah, i hear ya. they've just added a "Nazi porn" channel to our cable provider... wait, do... you... mean... Formula One...? yeah, yeah, me too, me too, the racing and such....

I would hate to have the (w)hole world judge me on the kinky activities myself and my partner get up to in our bedroom. It would put Max Mosely and the NOTW to shame. :D:p;)

Will that be allowed as part of the new aerodynamics for next season of have Ferrari just blown a wad of cash for this season?

As far as I'm aware it should be, it's bargeboards, winglets etc that are being outlawed for next season.

As I understand it there's going to be very specific bodywork height and width restrictions for the actual bodywork of the cars, though I haven't really looked at the 2009 regs in any sufficient detail so I'm not entirely sure how they're going to enforce the regulations.

Sounds like we might be returning to the cleaner look of the late '80's and early '90's though.
