I was worried when I saw that it had gone underneath the tire wall as where does the drivers head go.

This crash reminded me of Luciano Burti's accident at Spa in 2001 when he went into the tyres at 180mph.

It is a very fine diving line. If you allow teams a free reign with regard to developing technology then it gets very complicated. You get a staggered system where-by the teams with the biggest budgets can develop the best technology and have, in some peoples eyes, an unfair advantage.

it's not only that. one of the real problems is they have to maintain speed/accelleration below a certain level, at least during turns, because otherwise drivers would black out due to the high Gs.

i would really like in principle an "everything goes" series, with maybe only a limit on gasoline used. you would have cars with turbos, fans, sideskirts, crazy aero and whatelse that would bullet around the tracks at ludicrous speeds. but you'd also have incredibly dangerous situations with likely many lethal accidents. than it becomes a gladiator spectacle rather than a race

bad idea. i hope f1 never comes to that... although they may have been close to it before. and i wouldn't watch that type of series.

Very interesting race so far, from the early stages Massa seems very confident in the wet and as he is out in front has to be the favourite.

What was Alonso doing it was so obvious that he wouldn't make it through that gap.

Alonso causing trouble again.

It's all a bit frantic!!

Ooh, Kubica going for it!

EDIT: YAY KUBICA!!!!

Very compelling race to watch, such a shame that Kimi wiped out Sutil the mechanics seemed so upset.

Was that 3 crashes for Kimi and the penalty so he did well to actually finish the race.

Hooray for Hamilton.

Or looking at it another way he perhaps did not deserve to still be in the race. But you would also have to say that Lewis was lucky as he hit the barriers at the start too.

steve rider's hand (the one holding the microphone) looks weird.

poor sutil and force india.

Great race. Enjoyed this one.... except for watching that dullard in the Ferrari taking out Sutil. Poor Force India.. they really did well here.

btw... Who was the pretty airhead in the purple dress?
