I hope Teh Don doesn't have to work tomorrow morning. :)

I totally had work today. :( I got home at 4am.

I wonder if he is still there.

I stayed for the entire thing. I wanted to kill myself, but I stayed.

So being at the game was pretty much awesome. I was right behind the NL Bullpen and got some great shots of Sheets and Zambrano warming up. When Billy Blow Saves started warming, he was getting abused like no other. Needless to say, we all knew what was gonna happen.

I am too friggin exhausted to load up the pics tonight. When I do put them up, ya'll will be linked.

Yankees reportedly to sign ex-Mariner Sexson

The New York Yankees have reached agreement to sign slugger Richie Sexson, who was released by the Seattle Mariners last week.

The Yankees must only pay him $390,000 out of his $14 million salary with Seattle. The Mariners have to pay the remainder of his $6 million this season.

Sexson was released by the Mariners after a slump that lasted for most of two seasons and made him a target of constant booing from frustrated Seattle fans.

Are you ****ing kidding me? Why would we pick up this has been who was overrated when Seattle picked him up. No one here likes him because he cant play to save his life. No one.

Manny Ramirez's comments about his dealings with the Boston Red Sox front office hit a nerve with ownership.

At the All-Star Game in New York, Ramirez said he is hoping for a meeting with management to let him know what his future will be. The Red Sox hold one-year options on Ramirez for 2009 and 2010 at $20 million each. If they don't pick up the option for 2009, Ramirez becomes a free agent.
"I want no more [expletive] where they tell you one thing and behind your back they do another thing," Ramirez told the Boston Herald. "I think I've earned that respect, for a team to sit down with me and tell me this is what we want, this is what we want to do."

On Wednesday, Red Sox principal owner John Henry took exception with that statement.

"I find remarks that we have been anything other than completely straightforward to be personally offensive," Henry said in an e-mail, according to the Herald. "Manny has been a crucial part of two world championships. I do not believe we would have won either without him. He has never played a more important role than he has thus far this year."

Earlier this week, Ramirez said he wants to stay in Boston, but wants to know what the Red Sox have in mind.

"To be honest with you, I don't know, I want to stay in Boston, but I want to sit down after the season with ownership and see what my future is going to be in Boston," he said, according to the Herald. "Let's see, but the ball is in my court. If they don't pick it up, I'm a free agent and I'll go play somewhere else. We'll see."

"It's not to protect myself. I just want to know what my future is going to be," he added. "I just want them to tell me, 'We're going to take it year by year,' or, 'We're going to do this.' That's fine. Just so I know what's going on with my situation."
NEW YORK -- The All-Star Game's television ratings increased from last year.

The first nine innings of Tuesday night's 15-inning marathon on Fox drew a 9.3 fast national rating and 16 share, the network said Wednesday. That's up 11 percent from the 8.4/15 in 2007.

Nielsen issued separate ratings for the regulation portion of the game and the extra innings. Innings 10 through 15 earned a 7.5/18.

The rating is the percentage of those watching a program among homes with televisions, and the share is the percentage tuned into the broadcast among those households with TVs on at the time.

Went to see Ortiz in Pawtucket tonight.. the place was packed. Most people I've ever seen at McCoy. He went 1-3 with a HR and a BB. Looked pretty good. The PawSox won 15-6.

Have to say I never missed baseball over the break as much as I did this year. I'm sure it had to do with being at exciting games last week and the Mets' winning streak being at 9.

And now that streak is 10, tied with the Phils for first. Went into the top of the 9th down two runs and before it dropped into the bottom they were up two runs. :D

And who is Tatis?! 3 hits, 3 RBIs last night, keeps coming through. I imagine some of you know this story, but he was done with baseball years ago... then two years ago wanted to help buy land for his church. Spent last year in the minors to raise the money, now all of a sudden he's a cornerstone of our surging offense.

Youk just CRUSHED a 2-run home run to center field.

I hope Tito shuffles up the lineup a little bit when Ortiz gets back.. with Ellsbury struggling he should be dropped down in the order. Go back with last years Pedey-Youk top of the order.

I'd like to see:

Pedroia (R)
Youkilis (R)
Ortiz (L)
Ramirez (R)
Drew (L)
Lowell (R)
Lowrie (S)
Varitek (S)
Ellsbury(L)

I know Tito would never do it, but switching Ortiz and Drew so its Pedey-Youk-Drew-Manny-Ortiz would be even better. Tito will never move Ortiz out of the 3-hole though.

Red Sox JUST lost their second game in a row.:p

Yankees win 4-3 in the 12th. 3 in the loss behind the Sox.

Evan Longoria hits his first career grand slam to put the Rays up 5-0 vs. Toronto. :D

I don't normally comment on this, but tonight's umpires for the Mets/Cincy game are awful. Four totally blown, obvious calls. Two of them that would have arguably led to at least one run and one that if called correctly would have walked one in.

I know you can't blame it on them, Mets should have more runs anyways, but sheesh...

Red Sox JUST lost their second game in a row.:p

HOLY **** THE SKY IS FALLING WE LOST 2 GAMES IN A ROW!

In other news, David Ortiz hit his 3rd home run in as many nights in rehab for Pawtucket. He's got the day off tomorrow, and then he's going to play 3 games in Portland. It seems like he's definitely on target to return to the Sox against the Yankees on Friday.
