Anyone watching this Clemson Georgia Tech game? Clemson is really kicking it into high gear right now. They just scored a monster 53 yard field goal to take the lead.

I actually turned it off at halftime because it was so noncompetitive. Now I wish I'd left it on.

No kidding. It's one of the reasons I can't stand 'em. The 0-3 is actually their record in BCS games. This makes me feel good. :)

Its so much crap how they can go 6-6 and go to a very good bowl game and like Boise undefeated does not even go to the BCS. I'm a Alabama fan and i will even admit Utah should have played Florida even thought there strength of schedule is like 116

Ouch, the mid major beatdown vs. the Big 12 continues. Toledo is beating Colorado 23-3 at the half, and just had a big pass play called back because of holding...again. So, if they end up losing this game, does Hawkins make it through the season, or do they fire him mid-season?

Better question - when they can Hawkins, does he take his son with him?

Wow - Colorado really sucks. Heh!

And this was supposed to be their breakout season.

I do think he'll make it through the season, but if he doesn't have a winning season (..as Toledo scores again...51-24...wow) I think he will be fired. His only saving grace will be the fact that he really has turned the program around off the field. Colorado was out of control before Hawkins got there, and he really has cleaned it up. But will that be enough?

Regardless, I don't think Cody Hawkins will leave. I think he'll finish out his college career in Boulder.

As far as Cody Hawkins' talent, I think a fair amount of his problems have been offensive line issues. The kid has really gotten pummeled over the years, and then he feels rushed because he has it in his head that if he doesn't get rid of the ball then he's gonna be on his back again.

Tonight is a great example. He tried to do way too much because his OL couldn't stop anyone.

No kidding. What happened there?

I have no idea - I don't know much about CU other than their fans being pretty horrible. I dream of the day that both CU and Texas Tech end up in the Big 12 Championship game. Those two sets of fans are gonna burn the host stadium to the ground. :p

#42 for Toledo needs to be thrown out and suspended at LEAST two games for that hit!!!!!

That kind of ***** pisses me off like no other!!

He INTENTIONALLY lowered his head and nailed Hawkins RIGHT IN THE HEAD!!!

:mad::mad::mad:

CU is terrible. Hawkins should have been the savior, but he couldn't get it done for god knows what reason. The fact that he favored his son (who is far from Big 12 talent at QB) was a big strike against him; but when it really comes down to it, he just didn't have the mojo everyone thought he did coming out of Boise a few years ago.

Ironically, his belly flop should end up helping Boise, as some bigger programs could be scared away from Peterson because of the Hawkins fiasco.

I agree. He was a pretty good recruiter back in the Boise days, but I think that may have been because he was recruiting for a smaller conference and didn't have to compete against the other Big 12 schools. Just a thought, anyway.

I don't think anyone would be scared away from wooing a coach based on another's performance. I was Coach Pete to stay in Boise for a long time, but there will come a time when he feels he has gone as far as he can, regardless of his pay.

Coach Pete admitted that Washington wanted to have talks with him, but he said he wasn't ready to leave Boise yet. Of course Washington's situation may have swayed that opinion as well. ;)

I remember reading that article that stated that Pete was heading to Miss State

I mean, I would say any SEC team is something to go to over Boise State....but MSU is maybe the ONE SCHOOL I would say that is debatable about......

Agreed though....at some point a major school is going to offer money/power that is too much for him to stay. If BSU blows through their cupcake schedule this year, it just may be at the end of this season.

I'm so ready for the Michigan vs. Notre Dame game today! I'm really hoping that Michigan can come out with a win.

By the way, I was at the Michigan vs. Western Michigan game last week. It was almost like Michigan was their old selves. :D I think Tate Forcier is going to be really good for them.

Nothing would make me happier than to see The Irish fall. Go Michigan!

I'm watching the Wisconsin/Fresno State game, and they showed the student section jingling their keys in the air with over five minutes left, up by three. Are they out of their minds? This game is far from over.

EDIT: Now it seems to be over. Still, five minutes left is a little presumptuous!

Some student sections jingle their keys on a "key" play. The first time I can ever remember seeing it was as a little kid at a Rice football game in the early 80's.

The ending of the Central Michigan - Michigan State game was crazy. Michigan State were up by 7 but C.Mich were driving, and scored a touchdown with under a minute to go. They chose to try for a 2-pt conversion but failed so they trailed by 1. They recovered the onside kick drove down the field and kicked a field goal to win it by 2.

I'm watching Texas-Wyoming, and TU just kicked a field goal to go up 6-3 halfway through the 2nd. I'm having trouble deciding whether Texas looks bad or Wyoming looks good right now.

Gee, thanks for that shot. :)

Anyway, I don't really know how that rumor got started, but it was all over the MSU message boards for a while. I think our headhunter firm made contact with his agent, and Peterson basically said he was a west coast kind of guy. It never went any further than that. He could have just been politely blowing MSU off, but I don't know.

On another note, is anyone watching what Houston is doing to OK State? Ouch. And this makes me want slap our former AD. Two of our out of conference games are against Georgia Tech and Houston. Oh yeah, and we get Florida out of the East this year. This is gonna be a long season. :(

Looks like Okie St. has righted the ship now. UH's defense just doesn't have the horses to keep OSU's offense down for a whole game. Still, the UH offense is very capable of scoring on a poor Cowboys' defense, so they still might be able to pull it out.

Kevin Sumlin (head coach at UH) is a great offensive coach. He had incredible offenses as OC at A&M and OU, and he has really done a great job in Houston picking up where Art Briles left off. I think we'll be seeing him at a big BCS school before too long.
