Ruffin McNeill has hired Lincoln Riley to be his offensive coordinator. Brilliant move. This kid is a football savant and will probably be a D-I head coach before he hits 30.
He won the NC with 2 losses and the Dawgs were clearly the best team from the SEC that year down the stretch
The NC that year should have been UGA and USC, not LSU and Ohio State
I actually hope he stays at LSU, cause I don't think they will ever win big with him]
LSU would have beaten UGA or USC that year. Sorry.
Your judgement is clouded by your fandom.
I think Rich Rod is canned too
and depending on how LSU does this year, they will probably want Miles
I think Les Miles is a joke of a coach
His clock management alone is enough to fire him... the Ole Miss game wasn't the first
Remember the pass against Auburn to end the game?
That one worked out for him, but it was still as stupid call

Don't you mean without Tebow and Urban Meyer?
I think Michigan will go after Jim Harbaugh next. He's a UM alum, and he's turning out to be a pretty good coach.
I actually think the Urban Legend will be back on the sideline for the 2010 season. You could see in the Sugar Bowl that although he was more relaxed (almost zoned out), but I think that is causing more stress than actually coaching. It's like an addiction for some of these guys.
I think Meyer will be back too
He is a drama queen, and that little stunt was really amazing to me

I also don't think Pellini would leave Nebraska for LSU. NU is the job he wanted all along (he was the interim coach in the bowl game after Solich got canned and, from all accounts, was very upset when he didn't get the head job).
Oh yeah, the hits keep coming for Tennessee.
I would be embarrassed to be a Trojan fan
I've never known one to be embarrassed. They just stop rooting for the team when things don't go well, then slap the license plate frames or whatever back on when the team starts to make them look good again.![]()
Sounds like Austin from '85-'95!![]()
I wouldn't know - I got there in '96.![]()
That's at least seven secondary violations for Kiffin in a year. At what point does the NCAA go from a laughingstock to a complete sham? Disgraceful.
It's not already?
I personally like our recruiting method: Take recruits to strip clubs.
It seems a couple of our current players took a couple of recruits to a local strip club during a recruiting visit. Now some people are getting bent out of shape over it. Supposedly it's a secondary violation, which makes no sense to me. University staff knew nothing about this. Do they expect university officials to follow them around 24 hours a day or something?
Until things change (which is to say, never) it can't be considered a complete sham because they still slap the schools that aren't royalty. The NCAA is one of the most corrupt organizations I've ever seen.
Since official visits fall into the category of official university activities (or whatever terminology they use), everything that happens while a kid is in town has to be supervised by the school. It used to be that the recruits got their BJ's from the girls that hosted the recruiting visits, but CU and others abused this so badly that it's not allowed anymore.
In the case of the strip club thing: what is the university staff supposed to do? Strap an ankle monitoring device on the recruits? The school gets in trouble due to the hormones of 18-21 year old kids. Of course, if an alum or university staff takes them to a club, then yeah, nail the school. But already enrolled students doing it? Come on.
The current players are supposed to know what they can and can't do with recruits. It's the athletic department's/compliance department's job to make sure they understand the rules. The rules may be stupid, but there is no shortage of information about them (as you illustrated with your anecdote about the booklet you received).
I bet 1997 was a banner year for attendance.
We still averaged over 74,000. And yes, I was at every one of them.
We're not as crazed as A&M for football, but there's a big difference between Texas and pretty much anywhere in the Pac-10. It's just not as big a deal out here - especially when teams aren't winning.
