Torres looked tired.:)

You'd be tired too if you had to do the work of 10 men (I'll give Reina a pass).

EDIT: with the title race staying so close, I realize that Chelsea have to come to Anfield on 1 May....that could be a title decider. If there was ever a day I'd desire a Chelsea win at Anfield......

Seems like the loss to Chelsea was the last straw for many United fans concerning Berbatov. Personally I think he's a quality striker, but United is built around Rooney this season and Berbatov won't get the kind of service this season he might have enjoyed in previous United teams. If United sell him they will lose money in the deal, but I'm not sure who would be interested in getting him. Maybe Man City? That would be funny. :D

I'd be happy to have him at Liverpool. But not for what he costs.

Well, in the real mens league, congrats to Newcastle. Unfortunately, things went against us, Crystal Palace won, Watford drew, so we're now 3rd from bottom. It's definitely squeaky bum time!

Not anymore!

Well, Newcastle are back. Are we going to be treated to another season of drama like the one that saw them go down? :D Bring back King Kev and JFK!

West Brom just need a point - so they're as good as up!

I'm getting ready for an early night before a very early flight to Barcelona.. the news today that Song is missing is hugely important, which has changed my prognosis from "slight chance" to "no chance". Oh well...

I didn't realise the match was tomorrow night, the Bank Holiday weekend has had its usual affect on me and left me completely baffled about what day it is. Hopefully Barcelona will be equally confused and forget they've got a match scheduled, you'll have a reasonable chance if they don't turn up until Wednesday. ;)

Have a good trip, and good luck.

At least you get to go to the Camp Nou. That will be an awesome atmosphere...good luck!

Thanks.

Sol wishes it was on Wednesday... he's still catching his breath from Saturday!

Berba is the least of United's problems, really. He just doesn't play very well alone up top, but United has to play a 4-5-1 because their midfield is so thoroughly mediocre. Stengthen the midfield and go back to the 4-4-2, give Rooney and Berba a more consistent run out together, and many goals will result.

A lot of clueless fans hate Berba and love Tevez because they see the latter running around like a chicken with its head cut off and think he's more passionate/dedicated/hard-working as a result. Berba's style is the opposite. He's a class player, but maybe his style really doesn't fit United. He'd probably rip up Serie A if he played there.

You know, alot of people imply that United have to play a 5 midfield to cover their weaknesses but if you think about it, the best midfields have 5 players; take Barca for ex. an almost perfect team and they have an all time great in Xavi.

I think Rooney shouldn't be playing upfront like he is, he should be playing Ronaldo's role with Berba up top and Valencia or Nani on the otherside. The only reason he plays Wazza there is because he doesn't want the media moaning "it was his fault for replacing Ronaldo and Tevez with Owen".

What really annoys me is that three years ago we had the perfect foundation to build the ultimate team on, a team that rivals the treble team. Again, take Barca, they've had ineista, xavi, messi, valdes, etc. for the last 5 years and very smartly went about building around them. We could have done that but instead SAF decided to focus everything around Ronaldo while the rest of the team stagnated - Rooney the perfect example here. What baffles me most is that SAF admitted he knew deep inside that Ronaldo would be leaving and yet didn't make the appropriate plans until too late.

Yes, that is just what I was thinking. If you have both Rooney and Berbatov, you should use them both if possible.

I still rate Tevez as well, I think he's a serious goalscorer. But he's more similar to Rooney in the sense that he drops back to collect the ball and requires less service than Berbatov. I think the choice of striker depends on the desired formation and style of play, neither is inherently better than the other.

Personally, I think Berbatov might be better suited to Liverpool; Benitez loves to play a lone striker but you have players like Benayoun, Kuyt who do all the running for you, and Gerrard in close support. At least, he'd be handy to have on the days Torres is hurt.

Hargreaves would have been handy to have this season. With regard to forwards, I'd like to see two sets of strikers e.g. circa 1999 - need quality players able to accept their position as Solskjaer and Sheringham did.

Tom Cleverley - fingers crossed.

All credit to Arsenal if they pull it off tonight. Song out, Campbell and Rosicky struggling!

Cheers,
OW

I'm very pessimistic about tonight...i feel its too weak a squad but hope i'm hopelessly proven wrong and everyone puts in a massive shift. Also hope the ref doesn't screw us over.

Inter are through to the semis. The pundits say they dominated both ties but they only scored two goals, I doubt they'll be able to contain Barca as well as they did CSKA. Oops, getting ahead of myself there!

It's easy to pick the favorite to win, but I feel like Arsenal is just too depleted. It's amazing how well they have been able to cope with injuries this season, but there comes a point when you realize that just too many key players are missing.

With that being said, Barca are not full strength either, so Arsenal will want to press Barca's patched-together defense. I think the match has to favor the Spanish side heavily but Arsenal are not out of it yet...

The goals are flying in...from Arsenal's perspective, they need to button up the back more, they scored but immediately undid their good work by conceding.
