All that circling around before they finally got into it just looks dumb. The refs should have got in there to stop the fight before it started if they're going to do that. It made the fight seem like a side-show instead of a necessary action.





Ah well, another season came and went, and the Leafs missed the playoffs for the 5th straight year. I feel different at the end of this year than the others though- I really feel like the team is finally on the right track, and I really believe that we'll be in the playoffs next year.

Phaneuf scored his second goal (the winner over MTL in OT) as a Leaf in as many games, so hopefully he'll be able to remember how that felt and carry it over into next season. He needs to get back to being the dominant defenseman that he was a few years ago. I think he will be. Phaneuf will be the 17th captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and I think he'll be a great leader for out team for years to come.

All in all, a disappointing season, but with the moves Burkie made, and will make over the summer, not a total bust.

I agree. But this is the league that had Tonya Harding lace em' up, almost had Dikembe Motombo lace em' up, and had a team that had a guarantee: No fight on Wednesday night, and you get free tickets to Friday night.

So, that's the kind of crap that is expected here. But I've got seats 12 off the glass on center ice @ $20 a piece. To get into an Avs game, it would be 5x that for worse seating. So this is what I get to watch.

Yep. We get people literally off the farm at the game. We can win 1-0, 50 shots a side, and the people around me would walk out pissed that there were no fights. I'm the one who has to explain why it's not a penalty when our guy trips over the blue line. And why it should be a penalty when we slash a guy down to the ice while the ref's not looking.

I saw it on the NHL Network as it happened, but it was great to watch it again.

Was stressful. I hate shootouts. And to end or continue your season on the back of your goalie just isn't right. During the game, you even heard the commentators say that the Rangers were stalling in OT because they were sure Lundquist would beat Boucher in the shootout.

But he didn't. :D

So, a tough series with the Devils. I feel better about this than I would if they were playing Pittsburgh or Washington. But it's still not going to end well. But at least they didn't choke at home, to the Rangers.

I've already set it up to be home early on Wednesday night (game time 5:30 out here). I sure hope the NHL Center Ice online package gets the games if Versus doesn't show that one.

I'm really curious who the backup goalie will be, since Caron can't play in the playoffs.

I'm really pissed the Isles didn't win on Sunday. I called for 80 pts, they got 79.
