2009/2010 NHL Season & Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread

Wow, what a mess the Flyers have become.

The local minor league team that I have tickets to decided to quit, and got swept in 4 in the first round of the playoffs by a team from Louisiana. That's just wrong.

So in general, my sports teams are all sucking.

The Flyers just can't finish:mad: It happen at the end of last season and it's happening now. It's not the coach either. Richards looked like he was going to cry after last night's lost:rolleyes: No leadership:eek: I think they gave the C to the wrong guy:(

Any way opening day on Monday:)

Rangers aren't out yet! Big games coming up! I like the end of the seasons home/home vs Philly...destiny awaits.

I'm clinging to everything I've got. :D

Flyers beat the Leafs! Flyers aren't dead yet.

Avs beat the Canucks! Avs are in the playoffs. Good for them. I'll have to get myself into a playoff game this year now that I'm employed again. :D

Heads are gonna roll in Calgary. Wowzers, I can't believe they got eliminated.

The Avs just scraped into the playoffs..... what happened to them? (see post #35 and then #63) They fizzled out as the season progressed.
 
Feck, the Blues are officially out of it thanks to the Avs.

Ah well, even though they ruined the Blues' playoff hopes, they're still my second favorite team. Go Avs!

I listened to some of it while I was at the gym. It didn't sound too bad, but you can't compare Leafs/Flyers to Caps/Pens.

Go Leafs tonight..... hopefully they ruin the Rangers.....:D

I'm jumping on the Kings bandwagon for the playoffs (although I have followed them through the past couple of years that I've lived here). We'll see who they match up against, but I think they'll make it past the first round. Right now they're matched against Vancouver.... I think they can take 'em.

I still think it's ridiculous how a team that has less points is seeded ahead of a team with more points due to the 1-2-3 spots saved for division leaders. It looks weird.

Well, the Rangers took out their frustration on the Leafs.

I just hope they got it out of their system. I really don't think the Flyers deserve a spot in the playoffs. HOWEVER, I certainly can't support the Rangers winning.

So, it will be a confusing next few days. :)

Dear Philadelphia Flyers,

Normally, as an Islanders fan, I friggin' hate you and your city. Alas, for the next 2 games we have a common goal... to defeat the Rangers.

If you can kindly end their season, that would be greatly appreciated.

The Leafs aren't as bad as they've played in the past few games. I think their minds are on vacation and the golf course already.

I feel bad for more than just those two guys....

It was good to see Phaneuf finally score his first goal as a Leaf.

Next year will be a different story for the Leafs. I have faith in Burkie, and I think that he'll make a couple of moves in the off-season to bring us to a respectable level of play. I truly think we'll be a playoff contender next year.

Go Coyotes indeed!


Some sad news:

Former Canadiens, Leafs, Bruins, and Devils coach Pat Burns has been hospitalized with pneumonia. He's currently suffering from a terminal case of lung cancer after surviving treatment for colon and liver cancer a few years ago. He's decided to forgo treatment this time around, and to let the disease take it's course.

I was in highschool in the early 90's watching Burnsey coach my Leafs deep into the playoffs. My greatest hockey memories are from that era. What a coach.

Well, if you want to get picky. :D

This offseason should be interesting. We got screwed in the goaltending column this year thanks to injuries at/after the trade deadline. Will they keep Emery/Leighton? There aren't any goalies just laying around looking for work. Has Gagne's time finally come? Which star will we lose to bring in another penalty prone player?
