Dont get too crazy.. its only the first round.

lol

Game 7 tonight... uh oh.

Good start for you guys, but now it's 2-2. Uh oh for you..........;)

I'm lovin' this........two game 7s on (too bad they couldn't start the Bolts/Pens game even later than they did).....a few leftover beers in the fridge from yesterday........going to grill a nice salmon filet for dinner......... Another good night!

The cheapshot shoulder to the jaw that Ferrence laid on Halpern a few minutes ago: more proof of the lack of respect that the players have for each other.

Ferrence knew exactly what he was doing.

The puck was nowhere near that play.

love these game 7s ... now we just need Pittsburgh to score and have both games go into OT :)

Congrats to all the Boston Fans

i agree! that was brutal. no reason whatsoever for it. and no penalty of course.

congrats to the bruins. i don't hate them as much as i hate the leafs so i'm ok with the loss :) if it had been the leafs, i'd be livid right now. in the end, I think the Habs did well without Markov, Gorges and surprisingly, Pacioretty who had been playing really well with them.

Spacek, Hamrik and Mara (when he played) shows their lack of speed and skill. It's like they had to fight to make plays instead of gracefully making plays nonstop. doh!

Thomas played well. I believe Boston is going to the Cup final. I can't see any other East team stopping them. Maybe Lucic finally woke up with that pass on the game winning goal. He was invisible until that play.

now i don't have to worry about staying in anymore. Plus, with Bettman sticking his **** up the US networks rears, no more worrying about the upcoming stupid afternoon games. Like anyone wants to stay in during the afternoons now that the warmer weather is here. moron.

BUT, that is another topic :)

That was BS dude. I do not like the Bruins at all. That play was dirty as hell. I don't care what people say about the Chara thing either. That was more BS. People can say what they want to me about that. I don't care. People like that make hockey look like the WWF. I don't like it at all.

Even worse tonight, I had to get in the middle of some BS the brothers I've been playing with are doing. One is goalie and the other is a forward. They got into it on the ice today at practice and it was just stupid. The goalie came out of the net threw the forward into the boards, because he was pissed about some goals scored on him. The forward is the captain too. He goes to me, "I'm gonna kick him off the team. He gave me a black eye." Now to be fair, the goalie brother can be a jerk, and was an ass to his brother to be sure. But he's also young (21). They just need to sit down and work it out. The captain goes to me, "Well, you better get good at goaltending pretty fast, cuz I'm gonna get rid of him." I said, "Do not put me in the middle of you and your brother's ****. I do not have the time or the patience and I'll beat the crap out of both of you off the ice." I think that did it. ;) I swear to God, I feel like a parent way too much. :) What a bunch of crap. It's a game, for god's sake. Grow up.

Congrats to all you Bruins F'ers. I guess that means that Julien will be back even if you guys get knocked out in the 2nd round. Enjoy!:D:p

Well, to be fair, I don't think that any of the officials saw it happen. It was well behind the play.

I think you mean the WWE......you just dated yourself, Lee.:p:p

Sounds like your team needs a good bonding experience. 21 isn't really that young to be acting like that. I would guess that this isn't the goalie's first experience on a team.

--------------------

I had a feeling that the Pens weren't going to win tonight. Yzerman put together quite the team....they may get past the Caps, don't underestimate them.

I guess we're going to find out soon what the true status of Crosby is. I really hope he'll be back next year.....the league needs its stars.

Philly and Boston is going to be a brutal series. That's the one to watch. Can I pick them both to lose?;) I kid, I kid.

Oh please. This is nothing. Did you ever see hockey pre-lockout, and like back in the 60s and 70s?

I liked Subban's dive - I give it a 8.5 - I took off a little because of degree of difficulty.

Goal and a -2 rating... cocky @@@@
:D

No, it's not. Those two have been playing together since they were kids. But it's gotten bad. Now they're not talking to each other- completely ridiculous. I have a feeling there's more going on than I know about. They're brothers, and you know how that goes.

I am extremely happy that his series is over... and exhausted. The life was sucked out of the building after that Bergeron penalty with ~2.5 to go. I think that all of the Habs regular time goals were on PPs (including the shorty). That shorty means that the Canadien's scored more goals on the Bruins PP than the Bruins did in this series -- -- not good.

I don't buy the outrage over the hit. The guy is skating right at Ference. Ference doesn't lift up and hit him - all he does is brace. Halpern is an inch taller than Ference... and this was supposedly a targeted shot to the head on open ice? BS. Watch Subban punch people in the head from behind every time they battle in the corners. Where's the outrage?

There was no penalty because everyone, including the refs, was watching the puck 150 feet away. This play happened literally 15 feet from me and I didn't see it until I was back home.

While I'm bitching - I'm amazed at the number of Canadiens laying on the ice with "major injuries" and then playing again 1 shift later. Maybe that's hockey these days but it isn't how it is done here.

Video for those interested.

(ok, I'm done. Doubling up on my BP meds today -- waiting until Saturday.)

For all my Boston friends, predictions for round two?:D Should be a great physical series;) and remember last year...:D

Ugh.. I'll come up with my second round picks soon. My first round picks weren't too bad. Had the Ducks which was just plain wrong and missed a bunch of series going to 7 games (though I sort of knew that I guess). But did call TB - clearly lucky.

Anyway - Looking forward to a good rematch with Philly, Robo.

Mooney you are so right.
I haven't seen that much diving since the summer Olympics. I haven't seen that much fake crying since the world cup.
The Lucic hit, yes it was boarding however the Canadiens coward at the last second bracing for the hit turning into the boards.
Sure the beautiful sight of watching him eat his shield was enjoyable, it didn't deserve a game misconduct.

Hopefully hockey will remain a mans game and the leave the infamous soccer player fake broken leg play on the grass and not the ice.

Philly will be a tough series.

I hate the flyers with a passion and can only hope the B's watch some Detroit tapes and see how they execute their powerplay.

Mooney, if a ref would have seen that play, at the very least it would have been an interference penalty. Ference isn't supposed to brace himself for impact in that situation- he's supposed to try to avoid hitting Halpern. If Halpern had the puck, then it was probably an unpenalized hit. Since the puck wasn't anywhere near them, it should have been at the least a 2 minute interference penalty. There was definite intent on Ference's part to hit Halpern, and he knew that Halpern wasn't expecting it. When you hit someone that doesn't have the puck, it's an interference penalty. Come on, dude. These are the rules. He's just lucky that the refs didn't see his stupid split second decision.

Even the US team biased Versus commentators were criticizing Ference on the play.

I guess the league thinks there might be a reason to discipline:
Bruin' Ference faces hearing for hit on Halpern

None of the Habs that were laid out by the Bruins took a dive or were faking when on the ice. See, when you get hit in the head, and you don't expect it, you go down hard. Maybe you're able to get up right away, maybe you can't and you have to lie there until the stars and chirpy little birds go away. The result of having your brain sloshed around inside your skull is very unpredictable.

Spacek wasn't the same player after being leveled by Lucic. The right call was made on that play.

Anywho....... I think the Bolts might be the darkhorse shocker, and will take down the Caps. Roloson is a playing like a goalie possessed.

Ference doesn't have to get out of the way at all, he is entitled to his space like anybody else. If Halpern doesn't go down like he did, there is no hearing, because the play wasn't dirty. Ference wasn't trying to target his head, he was trying to give him a little bump as he went by. He just happened to clip Halpern's jaw.

I can see it both ways. Technically, interference because he bumps into him, however slightly. But he didn't intentionally hit his head either, so I can't buy that he should be suspended.

Oh please... Are you serious? He knew Halpern was there and he did it on purpose. If someone bumped into you while you weren't paying attention, you would of got throw off balance. Or at least he would of reacted to the 'surprise' of the guy skating into him. Ference didn't even move. He had his head up the whole time and he knew the guy was coming. So he braced himself. And that's why his shoulder remained in the same place after Halpern went flying.

It's a head hit and he should be punished.

Thank you! Good to see I'm not the only one with sense around here. ;)

Halpern ****ing skated in to him. Who cares whether he braced or not. He should have skated around.

But who cares.. the Canadiens LOST.

Let's talk about teams that are still in it, like Philly and Boston, and how I got tickets to game 3 in Boston on Wednesday night. :D
