Quite an interesting piece – albeit I've a vested interest ;) – from the weekend about how clubs (well, us) scout for future stars. Walsh is doing a cracking job for us, make no mistake.

I note, meanwhile, that Stan Kroenke's portfolio of teams includes the Colorado Rapids. Could Caleb Folan be heading for the Emirates? ;)

Speaking of future stars, what can you tell me about Tom Cairney?

He's decided he's Scottish, decent enough but looked to have got a few ideas above his station once he broke into the first team. I think that's been dealt with though.

He's also the lad who was out injured over Christmas when he scalded his head after trying to use a steaming bowl of water to relieve a cold. So, maybe not too bright.

Why do you ask? Wigan aren't sniffing around are they? Stay away Wigan!

What a night for Liverpool so far. 3-0 against City with 35 minutes gone. Carroll opens his Scouse account with a well taken brace. City can't keep the ball and Tevez looks like he tore his hamstring.

Not that I know of. I like to play Football Manager. For my latest challenge I decided to take charge of Manchester City, but for fun I allowed myself to only keep 5 first team players and sell everyone else. One of the guys I bought as a your replacement was Tom Cairney from Hull (I also spend $40 million on Wilshire and $15 million on Rodwell)

Currently watching the Liverpool - City match. Biggest difference between Liverpool now and earlier in the season, workrate. The Liverpool players are chasing everything, that wasn't the case earlier in the season.

I would say work rate was a big problem for us earlier, it's true, but before we bought Carroll and Suarez we were also totally useless in attack. Torres was off-form and Babel/N'Gog were unable to pick up the slack. Teams didn't fear us because we just couldn't score goals, and that put extra pressure on our defense.

Man City are embarrassing themselves. They need Mourinho.

I think they had hoops a few years before you?

Anyway, they nicked our mascot. A bloody tiger?! What have QPR got to do with tigers, the dirty, time-wasting, match spoiling, injury feigning, new right-back injuring, mascot plagiarising, glove wearing cheats?

Nah, we had them before QPR :D

0-0 at Scunny. At least Norwich are losing

Oh dear, oh dear, what has happened to Torres. Unquestionably the weakest link in the team. Ancelotti should've started with Drogba.

Jonny Evans will no doubt be happy today following Manchester United's Champions League progression, but the Evans brother who will be especially chuffed this morning is Corry. Not only did he get the equalising goal for City last night, but he revealed in a post-match interview that he's agreed personal terms to join us in the summer, pending some paper work being sorted out between the two clubs.

This is good news. :)

Slowly Torres is losing his eager to play because watching him on the field reveals that he doesn't want to be there. He doesn't go for the ball and he kind of avoids the ball. He just hangs out there.

as the swiss tv commentator said "it's like torres is wearing a lead vest under his shirt"
IMHO he should have left the EPL for a different league to get a breath of fresh air. Can you imagine him playing another 5 years at chelsea ? he is already now running across the field like he doesn't have fun anymore
