Indeed. I still can't believe the Jets traded up 12 spots to pick up the Sanchize when they could have gotten a better QB (Josh Freeman) at their original 17th spot. That 2nd round pick they lost in the trade would have been useful on offense.

I have to disagree ... Sanchez is much better than Freeman

I'm not sure how he can be overrated...it's not like anybody is comparing him to Manning or Brady. And he routinely gets beat up in the NY media. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that he needs to improve his consistency, especially in the red zone. If he becomes more consistent, it could be the difference between making the AFC championship game and actually winning it. His numbers, however, are overrated. Especially the record in the playoffs, road victories, etc...

Rex Ryan is borderline pathetic at this point.

Why doesn't this guy just shut the **** up and coach? Maybe he would be able to win then.

The ring count still remains Belichick 3, Ryan 0.

Yet players just want to play for him.

Last I looked, the Pats haven't won a SB in 7 years and are 0-3 in their last 3 playoff games. Jets played in the last 2 AFC Championship games.

Let's agree to disagree.:) Freeman showed a dramatic improvement in his second year TD/Int 25/6 (10/18 rookie year) where as Sanchez only showed average improvement 17/13 (12/20 rookie year). Freeman had no-name WR's, Sanchez had Holmes and Edwards. I still think Freeman was the pick of the 2009 QB litter.

I think the Jets could have been in the 2011 Superbowl if they had pick Freeman. Their D kicks more tush than a nuclear powered tush kicking machine, but their O needs to improve...a lot. The lose of Edwards is a step backwards, IMO.

You may have a point, but it's hard to compare the numbers of 2 guys on different teams, with different playbooks, in different divisions, etc..I know one of the reasons they wanted him so badly was because they didn't think he would be affected by playing in NY and dealing with the media. Who knows how Freeman would have dealt with that. Bottom line is that everyone, including Sanchez, knows he has to be more consistent this year...especially in the Red Zone. And having Holmes for a full season, and a huge target with Plaxico with hopefully help him continue to improve.

As a Jet fan since I was plopped in front of a black and white TV with my dad, I just love all the hatred against the Jets. It means we're good. :D

Say what you will about Rex, but he finally put an end to SOJ (Same old Jets).

Same goes for Belichick in that aspect.

Last I looked, the Pats haven't won a SB in 7 years and are 0-3 in their last 3 playoff games. Jets played in the last 2 AFC Championship games.

One of those 3 was a super bowl. Last time the Jets even had a super bowl appearance was before we walked on the moon. The Pats have played in 7 AFC championship games since then, won 6 of them, and won 3 super bowls.

But hey, you made it to the last 2 afc championship games! Which means you almost made it to the super bowl, and therefore almost won the super bowl.

At least Rex can take his two almost super bowl trophies and add more to his case of almost trophies. :D

The only way the SOJ can really be put to an end is with a championship. Second place is first loser. Also, there's no way you can get credit for predicting a championship if you predict one every single year. So far he's 0/2 with another fresh prediction under his belt.

Yes, the Jets are good. But I think the hatred comes from all the smack talking without the accomplishments to back it up.

Last I looked, the Jets hadn't won a Super Bowl since Nixon was in office, since Elvis was still recording, since the Soviet Union still existed - i.e. in FORTY-TWO YEARS. I mean, are you serious? As zioxide said, we've been in four Super Bowls (won 3), 7 AFC Championship games in this decade (not 40 years ago) - and we've just re-loaded. Talk smack when your team actually closes the deal for once.

Patriot Fan Rat

Another Rant

So defensive...How about you root for your team, and we root for ours? One thing I've noticed about Boston/New England fans over the years is they would rather knock the other team than root for their own.

For a team you guys clearly don't like, it really does appear that you spend an awful lot of time thinking about them.

Jets fans haven't experienced a heck of a lot of winning in the last 30 years, and we're enjoying this resurgence. As I'm sure you guys did when the Patriots went from laughing stock to elite. There's no need to argue every point we make as fans. Frankly, it just makes you look like you're more worried about our team than you may want to admit.

Now let's go get a god damn snack. :D

Isn't this how a rivalry works? Just like Brady said last year, "I hate the Jets". So I like rooting against them just like I enjoy rooting for my own team. That's the whole point of a rivalry.

That fat **** ryan just makes it worse by running his mouth non-stop. He should stick to licking feet, and maybe he can talk when he actually wins something.

Like Queen of Spades said, we are just sick of hearing all of the smack talk and all of the media ball washing of the Jets when they haven't won a single thing in over forty years. If the New Yorkers wanna talk **** using the Giants, I'm fine with that, cause they beat us and have won in the past decade.

It just gets really old when rex keeps running his fat mouth non-stop. Typical of a team that hasnt won in a really long time. You don't see the Steelers, Saints, Packers, Giants, or Colts doing any of this.

maybe rex is just jealous his brother has more rings?

People have been smack talking in sports for as long as sports have existed...win, lose, or draw players and coaches will always talk smack. Change the channel or mute the TV if it bugs you so much. The Ravens talk smack constantly about the Steelers. It's just part of the game.

And as far as the rivalry is concerned, you're right. You root for your team and you root against the other team. I just don't see the need to constantly argue every post we make about the Jets. And, frankly, your classy statements about Rex Ryan just reiterated my point.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can guess where some of your ire comes from:

It's nice to see the team get some swagger. I know it's annoying to everyone else

Ding ding ding. I really could care less about the Jets until we play them, but they are constantly talking. I'm sure Jets fans enjoy it, but I find it obnoxious and annoying. And I was only responding to someone who directly criticized the Pats, so I dunno how that qualifies as spending a lot of time thinking about them.

Anyway, on to actual football discussion - has anyone heard if the NFL is ever going to have a service like MLB.tv where you can watch games live online with a subscription? I'm moving back to LA October 1st, and I'm already dreading having to scour the net for poor quality streams of Pats games.

You forgot the rest of my quote. I was saying that it's annoying to everyone else, but it's something that as Jets fans we appreciate. For years we've always waited for the other shoe to drop. It's nice to hear positives about the Jets for once. I'd rather they be obnoxiously overconfident than the losers they've been for the last 40 years.

And let's be honest, it's not like the Pats and their fans haven't been pricks in the past decade...Eric Mangini is still waiting for Bill Belichick to shake his hand. :D

As far as the NFL, I don't think it's going to happen this year. They have something like MLB.tv, but it's only for DirecTV subscribers. I'm in the same boat. I live in Texas and work on Sundays, so I'm relegated to watching crappy internet feeds as well.

the Pack had a helluva 4th quarter tonight:D

4th down td & 2 point conversion to tie the game with 35 sec. left
onside kick recovery & short drive to kick winning field goal as time expires

an exciting end to an otherwise ho-hum preseason game

I'm looking forward to the Dirty Birds stomp da Bears this Sunday.
