I think most people were thinking that the passing of Al Davis meant that we might see some more rational (less extreme) thinking coming out of Oakland. Apparently, this is not true. Who in their right mind thinks Palmer is worth two first round picks?

The only way this makes any sense is if they think he's going to give them a chance to win it all this year, but that's a pretty irrational argument as well.

Honestly, how much of an improvement is Palmer over Boller? He's got to learn the system and get in shape before he'll even be effective. Did they not learn anything from what the Colt's are going through this year?

You obviously don't understand dry humor. He was kidding when he said, "well, we won't go 16-0 this year." It's a joke playing off of the fact that the Lions are the only team to ever go 0-16 in NFL history.

1. it more or less is the exact kind of trade Al would have made. He traded Kenny Stabler for Dan Pastorini for Christ sake.

B. yeah, i do get dry humor. but i think he really thought they were going to go undefeated, or at least be 6-0 after that game, and he had no other choice than to use use dry humor to cover up his disappointment. either way he is a chump. i was rooting for them too... i still hope they have a great season.

And Tom Brady would totally help a stranded couple change a tire, in the middle of a burning building, with Godzilla attacking. He's like Superman, only with better hair.

That's too funny.

I'm quite the Lions fan this year as well. Of course I have some of their players in Fantasy Football, but outside of that, I do hope they make the playoffs this year. Maybe I'm just another sucker getting fooled into cheering on the underdog.

Superman wears Tom Brady pajamas. :D

Count me as a sucker, too, then, because I'd love to see Detroit make some noise. They've been putrid for so long. I'm not totally sold on Stafford and the offense, but that defense is championship caliber.

My roommate is from Detroit, and I've joked with her about combining the Patriots offense with the Lions defense into one mega team.

I'm no Cowboys fan, but what about DeMarco Murray? 253 rushing yards in one game. It's unfathomable. I'm regretting not picking him up in my fantasy league while I had the chance.

That's going a bit far, don't you think? I think Romo was anointed the next great thing a little early after his initial success, and living up to that hype is impossible, but he's been a very good quarterback for the Cowboys.

Romo - 95.2
Rodgers - 101.2
Brady - 95.6
P. Manning - 94.9
Eli Manning - 81.4
Roethlisberger - 92.3
Brees - 92
Rivers - 96.5
Vick - 80.5
Ryan - 86.5
Sanchez - 72.4

ive been busy and on vacation and stuff for the past couple weeks, haven't been on here much. just popped in to point out the above thing i bolded. :D;)

don't know if anyone saw or not, but last week when they won, Brady and hoodie tied Marino and Shula for most wins by a coach/qb combo. Marino and Shula were 116-68 (.630). Brady and Belichick are 116-33 (.779). thats crazy. makes me really appreciate what we have had over the past 10 years as pats fans

Believe me, after watching that horse slaughter last night as well as watching the craptastic QBs of the league this weekend, I am more than appreciative of what we have.

I actually feel sorry for Colts fans. I remember how horrible it was in 2008, and at least we had a decent back up.

Wow, the start of a grueling 6 game schedule, and the Giants really pulled one out of the bag.

Manning has been seriously clutch, Ballard has been a great receiving TE.surprised that he filled Boss' cleats much better than Beckum could.

...wont succeed against better NFL defenses if the Broncos keep playing option offense.

However, he has to become a better NFL QB that doesn't depend on the option. He was a great college player but not quite good enough against NFL defenses

1. Happy the pack is 8-0
2. dreading our atrocious pass rush. all a team has to do is hold our offense to 30 points to beat us. Thankfully with Aaron Rodgers that is very difficult to do. (he just seems to get better every week)

I never understood what all the fuss was about until I actually watched his highlight reel. God are his throwing mechanics awful
