Nice to see the Cowboys play a great game ...

and to MacDawg, it is too bad about that call Mike Smith made in OT ... cost you guys the game ... Matt Ryan had done a great job to force the OT :apple:

I agreed on the call to go for it on 4th, you can't keep giving Brees the ball
Smith believed in his team and you want a coach that does that
Execution wasn't there
Hindsight says with that line push, fake the middle and go outside

4th down on your own 29 in OT ... you kick it and give yourself a chance to win the game ... too much risk that exactly what happened happens.

J-E-T-S suck suck suck suck

Can't disagree with you there...though I ask that you find a more imaginative way to express it.

Not a good day for NY sports. On the upside, the Rangers have won 6 in a row and Seton Hall started their championship run with a victory.

The NY Jets...making horrible defenses look awesome week after week. Coming soon to a city near you.

I am new to this forum, but I just wanted to jump in with the football. I LOVE FOOTBALL -- however my team has not done so hot..... COLTS...... :(

Still love the game!

Big win for my Patriots tonight. Really glad to see our injury riddled, patchwork defense step up. In particular, Ninkovich and Carter. Reports of our demise were greatly exaggerated. Although the report is that Devin McCourty has a separated right shoulder, which pretty much means I'll be suiting up at CB next game.

I must say the Jets having to play a Thursday game after a Sunday night game is surprisingly unfair. I have no love lost for that team or their head coach, but I think the NFL could have scheduled that better.

I feel bad for the defense....the offense took the night off tonight, so they'll be well rested. ;)

No doubt it is a questionable call and can be second guessed
Just like Belichick's against the Colts and Manning a few years back

I don't blame him for the call
He felt he was putting the game in his team's hands at the time
Honestly, if they can't make 2 inches with the game on the line they deserved to lose
He rolled the dice and lost

If he punts and Brees never lets them see the ball again, he wonders too
Make it = gutsy coach
Don't make it = idiot

exactly, hind sight is 20/20. if they make it he's a "genious" it's the Brett favre syndrom, when it works everybody loves it, but when it doesn't....

I'm not sure I agree with these sentiments. They had already stopped Brees on one OT drive. I think it's gutsy to go for it in overtime if you are a little further down the field, but going for it on the 29 where if you don't make it the other team is already in FG position, that's a poor coaching decision in my mind. It's too much risk for very little reward, even if you get it you're still 4 or more first downs away from being in FG range yourself. Sure, it's ultimately player execution, but in my opinion the Falcons fought too hard in that game to be let down by their coach at the end like that.

Why, all teams play on Sunday, the Jets only played 3 hours later than usual. Had they played on Monday you would have a point.

I can only DREAM...:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

if the falcons punt from where they were the best case scenario would be saint's ball around the fifty, all the saints would need would be a little more than a first down from there to get into fg range. I think they needed to go for it but maybe should have tried a trickier play like option and flip pass to a te

Just finished watching Thursday Night Football.

I learnt a few things:

Denver has a great defense and special teams
Tim Tebow has a 'je ne sais quois' at the moment and is a really exciting player to watch.
Jets should have finished the Broncos and poor time management (which seems to be a theme for lots of teams) was a big factor.

That was seriously hard to watch (and I'm at work so I had to follow it via Gamecast).

Bad special teams, and another Sanchez pick six is a recipe for a loss. And your defense can't let Tebow march down the field like he did during that 95 yard drive.

Honestly, this team isn't very good. And maybe a few more losses will be even more evidence to management that Mark Sanchez is not the answer and will never be the answer.

That was just a big bag full of yuck.

Someone needs to put rdowns on suicide watch. It's bad enough to lose. Even worse to lose to the Broncos. But holy crap, to lose to the Broncos on a last minute drive by this guy?

I feel his pain. But, ultimately, par for the course if you're a Jets fan. A whole lot of bad and only little moments of good.

Maybe they'll win out and sneak into the playoffs, but it certainly seems unlikely. It's been a rough 5 days.

To be fair, as a Chargers fan I'm throwing stones from a pretty friggin' large glass house!

I have to admit, I thought tonight's game would be a Jets blowout for sure. Really surprising outcome.

Tebow really, seriously, cannot throw an accurate pass to save his life. I hadn't watched a full game he's started, but I figured the charges of being totally unable to throw were overblown. Nope. With that said, he does exciting things with his feet. That last drive was pretty incredible.

And let's just say it - Mark Sanchez sucks. Watching him play QB makes me appreciate Brady even more, if that's even possible. The problem is, he's just good enough not to get benched, which in my opinion is actually worse since it means his tenure as the "Sanchize" has been dragged out when it's undeserved (obvi as a Patriots fan, I hope he keeps his job for the next 10 years).

Whoever invented Thursday night football is a genius.

He just hasn't improved. He's had good games..a few which were in the playoffs. But he's not going to take this team to the Super Bowl.

Maybe I'm down because of 2 bad losses this week, but how can they bring this guy back next year? He got beat by Tebow. TEBOW.

Oh man...you have it worse. You guys got beat by Sanchez. SANCHEZ.
