I figure for the BCS games Bois is going to get an at large bid but they are going to do it like they have in the past and refuse to give Houston or Boise one of the AQ teams. They will make them play each other instead of risking the allowing proof that non AQ teams can hang with the big dogs.

You seriously think Houston could hang with ANY top 10 AQ team?

Best possible scenario is for LSU to trample Arkansas, and then for Georgia to beat LSU.

I think that's the only way we don't have an all-SEC game.

Even then there's no way LSU doesn't make it. The BCS (and the voters) won't put any one-loss team above LSU in the polls (especially not one LSU already beat in their own stadium), let alone two of them.

Lots of bad defenses in that Top 10, so yes.

If there was any season that should be used as evidence for an actual playoff system, this is it. No matter what happens, several times will be screwed and up in arms about how the system is broken and we need a real playoff.

I sadly can see my Cardinal, Houston, Kansas Sate and possibly Boise will end up in lousy bowls. You can debate whether or not any of those teams deserve to get into a BCS bowl until we are blue in the face, but you can never really say why this one-loss team deserves to go over that one loss team if both lost to a top ten school.

some of them yes I do.

But in the past few years they have done back to back TCU vs Boise games. They complete refused to let either of those schools play one of the AQ schools.

My bet on BCS of the non AQ will be Houston vs Boise for the same reason. I want them to play some AQ schools so they can put to rest the crap that either non AQ schools can hang with the AQ schools.

Also in years pass Houston has hung pretty well with several Big 12 schools.

Houston will likely end up in the Sugar playing Michigan State.

As for us, just making it in is going to be a long shot. As long as Stanford wins out, they will stay ahead of us in the polls and will take the only at-large spot, likely in the Fiesta Bowl.

Ironically, the Big East is going to screw us. We'll be left outside the club because their champion will take the Orange Bowl spot, even though they will be ranked somewhere in the 20-25 range.

I think TCU will go to Vegas, and we'll end up in the Poinsettia Bowl against some pathetic team from the PAC-12.

We need Stanford to lose again, or Houston to somehow not win C-USA.

Every year people say that and every year, those AQ teams get beat by these smaller schools.

Don't you think it's time to stop with these "assumptions" that they can't play with the big schools?

It's not an assumption- it's the fact that it's ****ing Houston. I'm not doubting Boise State, TCU, etc. I'm doubting Houston. If you look at their schedule, they might as well be in the NJCAA.

You mean the same Houston that upset OSU (rank 5) in 2009. They have the same starter and back up from that year. They did really well that year then blew it at the end.

2010 is a write off as Houston lost their Starting and backup QB for the season in the same game very early in the season.

Can you imagine how crappy the crowd will be for that game? I don't think there's any way the Sugar selects Houston if they don't have an SEC team to fill in the rest of the stadium.

The Sugar may not have a choice. Don't they have the last pick this year? Houston will likely be all that's left.

Houston would get killed by anyone with a decent defense. They're putting up video game numbers because they haven't played against a team with a defense.

Fair point, but I doubt they'll pick Michigan State with their other pick. Maybe Michigan or some other, traditional power, but not someone like Michigan State.

That's rich coming from you.

I was expecting a comment like that. ;)

My only response is that our defense has been in the top 5-10 in the country the past few years, and even though we don't necessarily play great defenses every week, we practice against our own defense every day.

Nothin from the peanut gallery! :D

Bummer that this week's Longhorn/Aggie game is gonna be the last one for awhile. It also kind of sucks that both teams have been decimated by injuries. Our offense has been completely neutered - I expect the Ags to blow us out. Ugh. :(

This has been a REALLY bad season for injuries. Just a few ones off the top of my head: F. Whittaker (UT), Cyrus Gray (A&M), Ryan Broyles (OU), Marcus Lattimore (SC), etc.

Stinks!

The Horns' offense is pretty terrible, but the Aggie defense has made plenty of offenses look good, so you may have more of a chance than you think. The Ags have a good pass rush, but if Cart Jr. and Ash can stay out of trouble and hold on to the ball, they should be able to move the ball and score some points.

I think it all comes down to if/how much Cyrus Gray (stress fracture in his shoulder) can play. If he can carry the load and get ~25 carries, we should win relatively easily. If we have to rely on Ben Malena, it's going to make the offense much less potent against a defense that is playing pretty damned well right now.

Come on you need to send them off to the SEC with a loss. Besides A&M has seems to of mastered the art of blowing the game in the 2nd half. The couching staff apparently does not know how to hold onto a win.

I'd love for the Horns to beat the Ags, but most of that comes from simply wanting the W, and the fact that we're not going to play again for awhile (possibly never, but I doubt that). I'm not bothered that they jumped to the SEC - I personally think it was a good move for them and I sincerely hope they're successful there.

I'm of the opinion that the SEC as a whole gets a lot of love because of a few dominant teams at the top, and while I don't expect the Ags to be conference champs anytime soon, I don't think they'll be sitting at the bottom either. It's a good school with great facilities and a crazy-ass fan base. Take the additional recruiting opportunities provided by being in the SEC, get a new coach in there to shake things up, and they may end up surprising some people.

Now excuse me while the Longhorn part of me goes and pukes from what I've just written above. ;)

Well, this is interesting. It seems our AD Scott Stricklin decided that in addition to the special uniforms for the Egg Bowl this weekend, he would throw out another twist. The endzones will feature a Mississippi State Twitter hashtag, #hailstate instead of our usual endzone decorations.

I'm not certain how I feel about this. Mark Cuban seems to like it, according to that article. I do have to give Stricklin credit for trying new stuff, though. It's way better than our AD who was here for 20 or so years who had a primary goal of finishing the year in the black on the budget.
