usc is dominating. love it.

Yeah, the University of South Carolina beat Clemson pretty easily tonight. :)

Anyway, Ole Miss was as bad as they looked all year. I thought this might be a trap game, as they would love nothing more to deny us bowl eligibility. They gave up once Houston Nutt got fired. This season wasn't as good as I had hoped, but I have to give Dan Mullen props for doing something a Mississippi State coach hasn't done in 70 years: Beat Ole Miss 3 straight years.

I just want to say it's a shame Trent Richardson isn't getting more publicity for the Heisman. He has better stats that Mark Ingram did, but probably won't get it. The dude is really good.

trent richardson doesn't get enough hype? LOL

ingram was better, but gerhart should have won that year.

I know. In fact, Ingram wasn't even the best RB in the SEC that year. Mississippi State's Anthony Dixon averaged more yards/game and had almost as many TDs in the regular season. Ingram only had 267 more yards and 5 more TDs while playing 3 more games than Dixon.

I also wonder why Montee Ball is not getting some talk for the Heisman. The dude has over 1400 rushing yards and 30 total TDs.

Tough win for my Sooners today- they really didn't play well. I feel for Landry though, he really didn't have many passing options (Stills was about the only decent WR playing as Broyles is obviously out, and Reynolds sat out due to injury.) However, a win is a win.

Did anyone see that NCAA Basketball Football game between TTU and Baylor? Jeez, nearly 110 points- crazy! I hope RG3 is okay, it'd be sad for Baylor to once have a prolific year and have to play without him. However, their backup (threw in his redshirt) played surprisingly well.

I actually agree with steve2112. While Richardson gets a ton of hype as the best RB in the country, he is almost never listed when the talking heads mention Heisman frontrunners, but the best (offensive) player on a BCS title contender should always be mentioned.

Me too. While RG3 is having a great season, his team has been slaughtered a couple of times. I can't think of any Heisman winner, ever, that has lost games by 27 and 35 points (in back-to-back weeks, no less). He should definitely be a finalist, but a winner? I don't think so...

My top 5:

  1. Trent Richardson
  2. Case Keenum
  3. Andrew Luck
  4. Robert Griffin
  5. Montee Ball

My thoughts...

My top 5:

  1. Trent Richardson - prolly the front runner now and deserves to be
  2. Case Keenum - considering the opposition, not a winner, but deserves a trip to NY
  3. Andrew Luck - was his to lose and he lost it with a few poor decisions/performances
  4. Robert Griffin - great playmaker and stats, but team will hinder him
  5. Montee Ball - suffers from RWilson on the same team

I'd just like to point out absolutely amazing it is that suddenly Kellen Moore isn't even in the top 5 anymore. He hasn't even had a bad game!

Ridiculous.

Since the UGA game, Boise has been seen as irrelevant, fair or not
It was their biggest game and only quality win and it came in game 1 of the season
I think most were waiting for their eventual loss down the line and the inevitable "see, they don't deserve a shot" backwash
He may suffer the same fate as David Green did
Great college QB with all time wins, leadership, stats, intangibles, but unable to make the transition to the NFL

But you are right, if Case Keenum is mentioned, Moore should be as well
If you use the strength of opposition argument against Moore, then it should apply to Keenum as well

On another note... I don't think the Dawgs have more than a puncher's chance for the upset, but here are some interesting stats

Ok, you saw Gus Malzahn's wife on camera
Here is Barbara Dooley, wife of legendary Dawg coach Vince Dooley and embattled Tennessee coach Derek's mom, who is quite the character :)
Stay with it till the end, its worth it :D

SEC bias?

Talking about under the radar, Barkley deserves to be a finalist as much as any other QB. If he stays another year, he'll be the front runner. Also, Curtis McNeal is a sleeper. He has 1000+ yards and didn't even start until the 6th game of the season. He averaged over 7 yards per carry this year.

It's not bias when it is the best conference in the country. :)

The problem is that nobody from a team on probation will stand a chance in the voting. It's not fair, but that is the way the system works. It's the same way that a mostly defensive play probably won't win it any time soon.

That's a very good point. To be honest, I've kind of forgotten about him. It's not fair but in think the majority of voters are in the same boat. Ever since Boise lost, he just hasn't been in the minds of college football fans, talking heads, etc.

Fire Tommy Tubberville.
He took a good Texas Tech program and drove it into the ground. He was also the couch that lead the only Big 12 team not to have a losing season to well have one.

Just more proof firing Leach was a bad move and Kent Hance torpedo the program. Hance hated Leach because he could not control him.
Hance is ruining the school inside and out (not just sports but the entire school)

5 straight BCS championships. Should I also bring up last year, when the Big 10 went 1-3 vs. the SEC, including Alabama blowing out B10 co-champ Michigan State?

Because he has the same problem as Case Keenum. Four out of eight MWC teams are ranked in the bottom 20 in total defense. CUSA has similar stats. Look, we should just call it what it really is: "Best offensive player on a top 10 AQ team."

Not entirely the same problem, but only because UH is still undefeated. If they had lost a game, no one would be talking about Keenum, either, unless they're talking about all the records he's breaking.

I don't think AQ status is as big an unspoken prerequisite as being on a championship contender is, but the difference between AQ and non-AQ is that the former can afford to lose a game (or two) while the latter cannot.
