it is insane that these voters and some in the coaches poll voted OSU lower than 3. that is just total corruption. both bama and osu have valid arguments to be #2. to flip flop them between 2 & 3 is understandable. to vote osu as low as 6 is pure manipulation and BS.

How do you go 11-1 without having good play on the field? Give me a break. Oh that is right, it was all on reputation, riiiiiggghhhtt. A little sour grapes is what it sounds like to me.

Roll Tide.

The same can be said of OSU, Alabama is #2 and not 3 in part because of reputation, how big a part no clue, but it would all be solved with even a +1 game, have 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 and the winners in the BCS Championship, oSu and Stanford (really wtf) would get a chance to prove they do belong there, or get completely blown out, until they play we just don't know if Alabama or Oklahoma State is better we only think we do.

----------

Yikes..... That is actually pretty bad.

Saban voted Stanford #3 and oSu #4, so now it's better to not win your conference at all

But we shall see on the 9th if it was ment to be! :):D

I guess you could say this about any of the teams really..... If it was Michigan, Ohio, Miami, OK, Texas, USC or any of the big collages. Given the same circumstances I am sure something of the similier would of happened.

I'm still shocked at how we (VT) got the at-large to the Sugar Bowl. We're usually hated by the BCS and with valid reasons. As a Hokie alum I'm excited to see us play Michigan but as a college football fan I can't help but wonder how this happened...

It'll be a huge test for a our team - we've looked great as long as our opponent isn't Clemson. If we (and Clemson) win it'll be great for the ACC. If we lose it'll be a disaster for the already lacking reputation of the ACC.

This is one of the games I am looking forward too! Big Blue is my other team that I like.... :)

I'm a Badger fan too, but...come on lol. It'd be one thing if both those last moment losses were to top 10 teams...but they were to the #17 and an unranked.

I do think we should be the highest ranked 2 loss team, though (and if we were just ranking team offenses, then I may agree with you...but the Badger defense/special teams drop them way down)

we should definitely be ranked higher than boise. That's what really burns me up about the BCS. being serious now, we shouldn't have dropped so far in the rankings after a fluke loss to MSU on the road.

Your five 2011 #Heisman finalists this year are : Montee Ball, Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck, Tyrann Mathieu and Trent Richardson

hard to argue, but there are a ton of guys left out. there is no clear cut winner to me this year.

Glad they are giving Montee Ball the credit he deserves, even if he does have a 0.2% chance of actually winning.

Andrew Luck needs to gtfo though.

A&M vs Northwestern in the SomethingOrOther Car Bowl!

Also, it looks like details of next year's SEC schedule are starting to leak out.

A&M 2012 SEC schedule is expected to be: Home vs. Florida, Bama, LSU and Arkansas; Road at Ole Miss, Miss St, Auburn, Mizzou

If this is true, I guess that means A&M and Missouri will be permanent, cross-division rivals (BOOOOORING).

Also, what an odd (and horrifying) schedule. It'll be nice to get the big boys in the league (esp. the division) at home next year, but going on the road to Gainsville, Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge all in the same year in 2013? Throw in Arkansas, either in DFW or up in Fayetteville, and that's probably the most difficult league schedule I've ever seen.

Welcome to the SEC.

It's nice to see another Hokie on here. I pretty much agree with everything you said. I am sick and tired of Tech embarrassing on the big stage. That said, I'm tickled to be playing in the Sugar. Frankly, I'm pleased to avoid West Virginia; those used to be nasty match ups. I'm sure Michigan is even more surprised with where they've ended up.

When will Apple sponsor a bowl game? Just think, the Apple Orange Bowl! Not their style, I guess.

Clearly you can't read. Kindly point to where I said Alabama made it SOLEY on reputation, without playing well on the field? We'll wait . . .

In the meantime, Alabama had its chance to play LSU. And LOST. AT HOME. And played a cupcake schedule relative to OSU. Alabama does not deserve to play in the title game.

Finally, I have no dog in the hunt - my school just recently picked up Division III football again, preferring to concentrate on weightier matters like academics. ;)

Well, it looks like the rumors were true as it appears that the "Please don't take away our automatic BCS berth" conference...uhh, the Big East, is going to announce new members possibly as early as tomorrow. It looks like Boise State and San Diego State will be football only, while Houston, Central Florida, and SMU will be joining for all sports.

I saw one suggestion that they should call the divisions the Lewis and Clark divisions. :)

I hate the MWC almost as much as the Sugar Bowl, so I can't wait to leave. We should have never joined. In the beginning I thought maybe it wouldn't have been too bad, but having lived through a season I realize just how terrible of a conference it really is.

I want us to go to the Big East just to get out of this terrible TV contract. Talk about a death trap! We need ESPN back on our side. At this point I don't care about AQ status, especially since it might not exist for anyone after 2013. I just want ESPN back. The Big East TV contract will be much better than the ridiculous MWC bull ****, regardless of BCS status.

I think Boise St. and USC should give the middle finger to everyone and find some money to create their own bowl game. I'd watch that!
