Or you can just get Macbook and forget about Macbook pro!!

Just go to apple store order online macbook have them up to 4 GB RAM and 500 GB hard-drive and it will be just as fast as the 13' Macbook pro!!

save the money and for big stuff you doing on the computer get a iMac. You will get more for your money anyways has it is point-less to get 13' Macbook pro with no Quad core i7 and no AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1GB GDDR5 on the 15-inch Macbook pro and this where speed performance will shine.

This what I'm going do.

I bought my MBP yesterday and was able to reproduce the freeze easily and consistently under load. The 10.6.7 fixes it entirely. Not an issue anymore.

That sounds great, Apple responding very fast to this issue. FWIW, I also noticed my MacPro 1,1 at home has been crashing out of nowhere... similar symptoms, happened about 5 times over the last month... where before it would NEVER crash.

Will update to the latest 10.6.7 and see if the issue goes away. Otherwise, my RAM is maybe going bad?

Congratulations? I keep my machines for well upwards to three years before I buy a new one.

I sell mine every time as my original 1 year Applecare is just about to expire, I have done it for years. I am a lecturer and after my academic discount is factored in it usually costs me between 0-200$ each time I upgrade to the latest model........

I wait until it completely expires before I even think about replacing it then I wait until it can no longer do what I need it to do sufficiently or until a part craps out on me. Whichever comes first.

I wasn't having problems before the update (and I tested it with the Photobooth test), and I'm not having problems now.

Is it just me, or is every Apple article on that website negative?

..probably because most of Apples stuff is sucking right now. I had 3 things on my shopping list and cant get any of them because they all have problems...

1 - iPhone 4 (antenna issues)
2 - Macbook Pro (freezes)
3 - Time Capsule (dies after a month)

hahaha...what happened Apple?

1) go verizon
2) no it doesn't. fixed.
3) no it doesn't. (a year. and fixed.)

No there is no fix for it .Apple knows about the problem and are trying find out what is causing the problem and come up for fix for it.

Apple will not go public with this to they find out what the problem is.The people at apple are trying find out what is causing the problem .

What? His post wasn't a question. This crash seems to be fixed for most.

1 - Have had my iPhone 4 for over 6 months now, haven't had an antenna issue
2 - This is an issue and I'm not purchasing a MBP until it's resolved
3 - Have had a Time Capsule for a year and it's still working

Your point being? Hardware fails constantly, it doesn't matter what company you're dealing with. Shall I regal you with tales of how Dell, HP, Toshiba, Lenevo, Acer, and Asus have sent me crap and the painful process they have made of trying to resolve it? At least with Macs I get good and responsive customer service.

yes, there is a fix for it. Nearly everyone who had problems seems now to have none. The tests which used to always reproduce the problem no longer do (for most). For the the few still having problems, there might actually be a hardware issue that needs fixing.

http://mbp-freeze.wikispaces.com/ :

How to fix this issue entirely: It's now confirmed by multiple testimonies, on Apple's discussions forums, that 10.6.7 does solve this issue entirely. Tests has been done using the various scenarios described below as well as using high demanding benchmarking software like SmallUXGPU, and nobody has been able to reproduce the issue since 10.6.7. Good work Apple!

So update to 10.6.7 and problem solved! :)

...dont be silly man. There is a difference between hardware failing once in awhile and something being a KNOWN problem. Look at apple.com store and check out the reviews of the Time Capsule. 1 star. Like 99% of all Apple supporters who bought them had them die. Read the reviews.....That is not "normal" haha

Ok entire batches of Dell motherboards with the wrong capacitors, that took 2 years for Dell to replace. HP having a boot issue that they wouldn't acknowledge...etc, etc, etc. I have no illusion that Apple isn't anything more then a corporation, but they at least they have decent customer service.

Than why is there no press release from apple or at the apple web site?

MacBook Pro (2011) 15'' and 17'' with both the integrated Intel and AMD GPUs. This would seem to exclude the 13" models.

so the 13" models don't seem to have this problem only the 15'' and 17'' ?

It shouldn't matter since the issue seems to have been resolved. I'd say Good work Apple engineers, bad work Apple the company for letting something like this out the door.

so this is driver problem? Why is apple not saying any thing?

Why is apple not saying any thing? And how do I know If I go to store the new Mackbook pro will have the latest 10.6.7 update ?

The sun came up this morning. There also wasn't a press release. What's your point? "Fixed graphics instability" was in the release notes.

And how do I know If I go to store the new Mackbook pro will have the latest 10.6.7 update ?

What difference does it make? Just install the update. It's free.

The problem has been fixed with 10.6.7. What part of that don't you understand?

No no no no I will not get any Macbook pro to apple do a press release or its on their web site .

And people at the store say yap man the problem is fix dude come get my Macbook pro .

I'm not going to the store with guy or girls looking at me like I'm from Mars and have to do a properties check at store to see the leatest fix.

Furthermore I'm going to give it some more days to make sure it is 100% fix with the latest update.

My feeling forget about the Macbook pro and just get the Macbook that I know will work no problem and have them up it to 4 GB RAM and get 500 GB hard-drive .Next year when other new Macbook pro come out get it and trade it in on the new Macbook pro on ebay.

I can see if I was getting 15' or 17 's but just getting 13' i5 what all the headache just get Macbook have them up it to 4 GB RAM and get 500 GB hard-drive .
