It if highly likely that we might need 2 playoff games.

If it weren't for the BoSox, the Braves choking and gagging would be bigger news

Fortunately we have Hudson on the mound tonight and not that train wreck formerly known as Derek Lowe

That said, I still see the Braves being swept in a meaningless series for the Phillies with everything on the line for them... pathetic

The Braves always choke in the playoffs, so that is no surprise to me. The Red Sox dropping 9 games in 3 weeks is a big deal considering they were touted as the team of the century in the spring.

The only week I am rooting hard against the Yankees and I really hope the Rays pull it off tonight.

What an absolutely crazy game the yanks are involved in. If they pull this out, Tampa will be scary in the playoffs.

For Yankees fans, I hope it doesn't come down to be careful what you wish for.

Finally made it down to Target Field, at least we avoided 100 loses! :p

Sorry, I don't know why they are turning sideways. :(

Pappelbon blows the save! 3-3

Yankees Rays 7-7 bot 12

O's win O's win!!

yeah lets not judge a season after 2 games with 160 left to go. come talk to me around the all star break.
How about after the season ends?

Im trying to find that article from the spring where a writer called the Red Sox the team of the century.

Ahh, there's that familiar pain in my stomach. What an inexcusably atrocious performance by the Red Sox in September. Nothing else to say, really. If I think about it too much, I'll get sick.

Congrats to everyone whose teams are moving on.

well lets hope they at least fire theo after this disaster.

why? he put together a great team... what did you want him to do go out on the field and hit for them too? perhaps he should have changed out of his suit and closed that game for papelbon last night.

Anyway I'm happy as can be :D I hate everything Boston and love to see their teams fail miserably..... This is right up there with seeing the Jets upset the heavily favorite Pats in the playoffs last year. Boston fans were getting a little too cocky calling themselves titletown I think they need this little push back down to earth.

Enjoy your gloating. But our teams aren't going anywhere - we will be back. Hopefully with a vengeance.

And you're welcome, Braves fans, for deflecting the spotlight away from your own team's epic collapse.

Loose your last 5 straight games to end the season with everything on the line and you don't deserve to be in the playoffs

Bravos have a lot of off season work to do
They have a lot of young talent, but...

Injuries to Hanson and Jurjens hurt them
Injury to McCann, never the same
Heyward's lack of development
Lowe's train wreck season (and we are on the hook for next year too)
Uggla's first half disappearance
No clutch hitting with RISP

I haven't seen a more exciting final day of the regular season in quite some time. At least my "out on a limb" prediction back in April of the Rays making the playoffs came true.

Bring on the playoffs.

great team my ass. they played less than .250 baseball when the games actually mattered. ALL of his huge acquisitions from the past couple of years played like dog ****. Lackey? Crawford? Matsuzaka? 300 million dollars of suck right there. Cameron? Albers? Bobby Jenks? these guys should have been in AAA. Bedard? what a dog **** deadline acquisition. that's all he had? seriously?

theo lost his way the past couple of years. we won those two world series in 04 and 07 by having good pitching and good youth on the farm to back them up. neither of which we had this year. his farm system is depleted and he's relied too much on big-money, ****-performance free agent signings. the yankees proved back a few years ago that this doesn't work. theo turned in to exactly what he didn't want to do a few years ago.

we are titletown. still have 7 titles in the past 10 years. nobody beats that. be jealous. one week from tonight the bruins raise a banner at the garden. and i am gonna be there for it. :D:D
