The Rays were in trouble long before this. Getting rid of their star players, Longoria on the shelf, Damon being old. They will be lucky to win 70 games this year.

i agree. there's no offense at all there. and the pitching is also suspect. it's not looking good.

See MacNut the red sox will be just fine. all we need to do is play the yankees :p

Is Joe Buck sick or just depressed to be doing baseball. He sounded like this last week too.

at first i thought buck was just sick. if he's not, time for fox to change their baseball announcer. i don't want to hear my poster play by play guy to sound bored. how about kenny albert and tim mccarver?

I also don't like the football music playing during baseball.

same here. the music sounds like time for hitting people, not baseball. what a dumb move FOX by gutting the baseball music. produce baseball right or let someone else handle it next contract (NBC or CBS).

It looks like they gutted all the other theme music and just use the football theme for all of their sports now.

Got to love this... end sarcasm. It is as bad as going to a freaking Raider game and wearing the wrong shirt. I can say most fans are good, but well there is also lots of riff raft at the park! Drunk riff raft at that.

I saw an interview with a fan.....she said that it looks like all of the old f'n Raiders fans converted to Dodgers fans. Now that there will be beefed up security (doubling of police presence, more cameras, license plate scanners, etc.), I think it'll be a much safer place to see a game.

Go Jays Go......it's awesome to see them start so strong. Hopefully this is the year we can get back to our glory days of the early 90's. They're in Anaheim this weekend, but I'm far too busy to get to a game. Hopefully I can make it next time they're in the vicinity.

No kidding. I am tired of the Fox Football "Giddyup, giddyup, giddyup let's go!" song, and I don't even watch the NFL anymore.

I was just thinking this morning of how much I miss the NBC baseball coverage I grew up with in the 70s and 80s. Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola doing the Saturday afternoon game and the playoffs / World Series when NBC had them. I have to smile a bit remembering their last broadcast was the Giants' pennant clincher in the 1989 NLCS.

NBC Sports really went down hill in the mid 90's IMO. The last time they had baseball it was awful. Although most of that was the bad contract MLB signed with NBC and Fox. For the most part I like the production values of Fox Sports. I am not to fond of this years graphics though.

I guess that was just a fluke.:p

stupid. i like the nfl on fox music, but i don't want it protruding into other sports. it's not right. not every sport evokes the feel of football, nor should it. the last mlb on fox music was perfect.

i don't know about the nbc coverage, before my time, but from what i hear of vinny doing dodger games, it must have been amazing.

the graphics are okay, although i wish they had the teams logos, and didn't make it seem like fox phones it in for non-nfl coverage.

A-Rod was out sick so yes.

We will see who is the worst team of the AL when the battle of the horrible meets.

beckett would have mowed down arod just like he did to the rest of the skankees

we will be 5-7 after we play those clowns from tampa.

i am going tomorrow. jon lester vs david price. yes :D

I don't care if they use Barney's theme song or Miley Cyrus, I just want to see the Giants do well this year. It's so hard to follow up a WS win.

I have stopped watching football as much, too since the Raiders and 49ers have fallen down some. It was nice to see such a highly rated QB like GB's Rodgers finally get his ring though and it reminds me of the greatness of the 49ers Steve Young when he had the arm and the numbers, but no ring. But football is not as expansive and intense as baseball.

When a town sees their baseball team go the distance of a long season and brutal series matchups in postseason where the smallest mistake can cost the series, or running out of steam can cost the series, getting a WS win is the biggest thing in American sports and the reason why MLB is more like a religion vs. the other sports which pale in comparison. I still wouldn't call baseball the American pastime but there's a NFSW answer for what is. :)

That Giant's win was as emotionally powerful as two 49ers Super Bowl victories and it will feel like another 50 years before the baseball season goes to SF again. Even if the Giants get another WS in the near future, each long season feels like an eternity.

I hope after giving up 16 runs this is a wake up call to Terry Francona. He needs to bench Daisuke. The red Sox should have invested in pitching instead of Carl Crawford. I always wondered which is better great pitching or great hitting. Now I know.

Hey Zioxide
I hope that your Bruins are not going to start out the first round like the Red Sox are starting out their season :rolleyes:
