and all of a sudden the bats have come alive, and the sox have won their past 3 by a combined score of 21-3. ;) looks like they will be fine after all?

I'm scared. :( Maybe 2012 may actually happen if the Red Sox and Dice K especially are winning more than 1 in a row......

:p

The Minnesota Twins are a trainwreck.

I don't even care. I say scrap Cuddyer and Joe Nathan, resign Kubel to a team-friendly contract, move Mauer out of catcher, and hope and pray to god Morneau gets healthy. I honestly feel terrible for what happened to him... he will most likely never be the same. :(

I said this from the start: Do not sign Joe Mauer to an eight year contract. No catcher deserves that. It is just way too risky. His contract is going to handicap this team. Even if we just move him to third or right (where I think he will end up playing) and he hits like he always has, his bat doesn't make up for it. He is a .330, .400, .470 hitter with lots of gap power but no home run power. That isn't worth what he is getting paid.

I call it. The Minnesota Twins are going to have 2-3 losing seasons. Rebuilding seasons.

The Giants are in Colorado for a potentially big three game series. Hard to think of an April set as being "big", but the Rockies have taken advantage of their soft early schedule to open a four game lead in the NL West. Hope the Giants can take two games and keep things close. Lincecum starts tonight for the Giants.

If you guys move back into HHH, Mauer will get some more HR's. ;)

The Giants have taken the first two games from the Rockies. Lincecum was lights out yesterday and Jonathan Sanchez strong tonight.

Cain vs De La Rosa tomorrow. Let's get that big sweep!

Yeah, the Giants pitching has been outstanding. The Rockies have only managed 7 hits total in the two games so far. You are not going to win many games if you have such piss poor hitting. Not to mention the 9 runs given up by the Rockies in the FIRST INNING in the first 2 games so far. The commentators as I was watching the game last night said that last year the Giants were 80-24 if they scored 3 runs. They are a great team.

The Giants came off to a slow start but are starting to warm up. I like SF's depth in pitching, fielding, and hitting. I think the stat with the Giants winning so many with just 3 runs was very dependent on the mound with Cain, Lincecum, Sanchez, Baumgarner, Wilson, and Zito with Molina and Posey catching.

Right now, Zito is hurt and Molina is no longer with us. Molina was as close to a team leader as we could have, and it's no great thing that we lost a few veteran hitters, too.

We will have to rely on unknown young pitchers this season at times so I wouldn't be comfortable with our hitters getting only 3 points in a game. This season will be harder than last season. Add to this we have to worry about a strengthened Philly, and I have an eye on those Rockies who are at the top of major league baseball.

It's a long season still ahead, the Rocks have touched up Cain for six runs, and De La Rosa is pitching well today.

I must say, the 2 or 3 minute delay between real time and At Bat audio is annoying. I work about 3 blocks from Busch Stadium and am listening to the game on my phone, and hear the fireworks from when a home run is hit long before I hear it on the stream. Hearing them talk about Pujols coming up to bat isn't as exciting when you already know he hit a home run. It's a spoiler :p

and all of a sudden the red sox have won 6 of their last 7!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

you mean this team ISN'T the worst team in baseball? CRAZY!!!

Colon is pitching well so far. The only question is can he sustain it?

For those interested, National Geographic is airing the documentary of the demolition of Yankee Stadium at 10 PM tonight.

Pablo Sandoval, pretty much the only hot Giants hitter so far this year, needs wrist surgery and will be out 4-6 weeks.

The Giants' normal backup third baseman, Mark DeRosa, already had to go on the DL to wait for some swelling in his surgically-repaired wrist to go down.

Andres Torres and Cody Ross have also spent time on the DL.

The Giants were incredibly lucky with the relative lack of injuries last season. Looks like the law of averages is catching up again.

Congrats to Liriano on the no-hitter tonight. Didn't have his stuff again tonight with 6 walks and only 2 strikeouts, but good enough to complete his bid for history.
