sorry i haven't been on this thread for a bit, but i'm shocked the rays are in first again after that horrid start they had. looks like it's not rebuilding time for them.

That was short lived. But I'm sure these 3 teams will be flip-flopping a lot in the standings over the next 4 months.

It is sad that the Rays couldn't beat the joke that is Vazquez......
That joke of a performance by Vazquez is exactly what he needed. Hopefully he can get out of this horrid slump he is in, because his starts have really been tough for the Marlins.
It isn't a slump or at least a traditional slump considering he has sucked this year and last year with the Yankees.
Glad to see Chase Utley back in the line-up even though he was the only starter without a hit tonight. He'll get his timing back soon and Philly will be even better.

Buster Posey is in all likelihood done for the year after suffering a horrendous leg break and ligament damage in a collision at home plate against the Marlins. Oh well, got to move on and let the world see more of Eli Whiteside.
In slightly better Giants news, shortstop Brandon Crawford hit a grand slam off Shawn Marcum in his first major league game to lead the Giants past the Brewers, and the aforementioned Whiteside absorbed a big hit from Prince Fielder to keep him from scoring the potential tying run. The Giants really needed that boost.

That was a big game. The brewers were coming in on a roll and if they couod have pulled that out they would have been looking like the hottest team in baseball. Oh well greinke on the mound sunday

Im loving my Fish so far this year! They are exactly where I said/thought they would be, which was right behind the Phillies, and in the mix for the wild card (of course I know there is a lot of season left). They have one of the better pens in the league, and they are getting big contributions from pretty much the whole team. Its nice to see them doing this well with Ramirez having such a bad season, and now with Johnson on the DL. If Hanley can get his average up to around 300 in the next couple of months, and we stay relatively healthy when Johnson returns, we are contenders.

NL central race looks to be shaping up nicely between mil, cinci, and st lou.brewers came to cinci after an 8-1 home stretch. would have been realllllly nice to take 2 of 3.
Wow. Brewers looking really good after 4 game sweep in south florida. Pitching has come together and axford decent in the pen. One of the best offensive lineups in baseball hoping mcghee gets off the schnide soon.
