Update the spreadsheet!

From the state of the spreadsheet at the moment it looks like the earliest (5/3) and the latest (5/15) orders for the 21.5" iMacs shipped just 1 day apart, so it appears that the orders so far are more or less being shipped all at once.
Hopefully, for the rest of us, the 27"s are following soon!

Done.

Well hope fully we can at least let you know what SSD's they are using and at what speed. 3Gps or 6Gps SSD drives or SATA 2 drives. Trim support? It is being shipped from Union City, Cali?

That's interesting; I wonder if all SSD iMacs (at least in the US) are supposed to ship from there? That might explain why my expected arrival date is just one day after my expected ship date--even though I chose the free shipping--since I'm less than an hour drive away from there.

That makes to believe Apple was waiting for parts to arrive. When I called Apple I asked them if the rumor about the SSD's that would not be in stock was true, the girl on the line acknowledged.

I recon the assembly of the machines was never the bottleneck of the long lead times.

For the European buyers

To my knowledge the Apple products destined for Europe ship from Ireland (tax reasons) At least my current MacBook Pro and my new iMac ship from Ireland, maybe another location is used for the Eastern part of Europe.

Just for information, the whereabouts of my 21.5" SSD iMac:

5/23/2011 Cork, Ireland
5/23/2011 Dublin, Ireland
5/24/2011 Dublin, Ireland
5/24/2011 Tamworth, UK
5/25/2011 Tamworth, UK
5/25/2011 Barking, UK
5/25/2011 Brussels, Belgium (come on baby, almost there!)
5/26/2011 Amsterdam, The Netherlands (5:15 AM Out for Delivery)

Shipped by UPS Standard

At first I hoped my package would arrive in the Netherlands on May 24th, but it seems as if they are shipping by truck through Ireland, by boat from Ireland to the UK, by truck again through the UK and by boat from the UK to The Netherlands.

I wonder if they ship Harwich-Hoek van Holland or Dover-Calais?

Interesting to see how many steps a iMac need to make before it arrives in Holland. I think it goes by plane btw. (city hoppers)

Hey all,
I've been keeping track of this page, bookmarked on my menubar, seeing what the latest is regarding these delays.

I have an issue here... Talk some sense in me, because I'm about to cancel my order and get a non-SSD iMac.

Why am I waiting until June 29th? Is there really going to be THAT much benefit here? This has me really confused, and I'm starting to see the light.

But, if you guys can convince me otherwise, I'll hold off.

It would have already been done if the website let me do it, or sales reps could be reached this time of night.

YOUR THOUGHTS!

Thanks

My iMac 27" (May 3 order, June 27 delivery) will go through Prague as have all my previous BTO macs. By the way: "Eastern Europe" means Belarus, the Ukraine, Russia etc. After all, according to the Guinness Book of World Records the geographic center of Europe is near Vilnius, Lithuania. :p

Have some patience my friend. Check this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llYaxpePFjw

And watch how fast the OS is with loading a lot of photo's, scrolling through files, fire up apps, etc. in a few weeks, you are happy to :D

Don't worry about it--your computer will almost certainly ship well before June 29. Look what's happening with the 21.5" models: they're all basically shipping three weeks after the refresh happened, regardless of when they were ordered.

Assuming that the 6-week timeframe is accurate for the 27" models (although I hope it's not and that they ship sooner!), then your computer will probably ship around June 15 with the rest of us.

Don't despair!

Think of it this way. If you wait a relatively short time, your iMac will be exactly what you want. Don't settle. Go for what you really want.

It's gonna feel very good, when your SSD enchanced iMac comes rolling down the drive way. :)

Believe me, we feel your pain. I certainly do.

Thanks. I'll hang in there through the weekend and see how things progress with other shipments. This is really starting to drive me nuts!

The AAA (Apple Addicts Anonimous) will help you through. ;-)

I am also in the same boat!

Main reason, I decided not to cancel is bcos, it would be tough to have that ssd installed later. Unlike memory and hard disk, Apple's SSD price is not twice or thrice the newegg price.

I checked my cousin's 3 year old laptop , just changing to SSD made every thing in his system very fast. Esp. Photoshop which I planned to use is really quick.

nice you managed to not give in, i couldnt do it, i said bye bye to my 27" iMac and have ordered a 15" macbook pro with a 512GB SSD instead.

For the record, if anyone gets a call from Apple about their order, when they ask if there's anything they can do for you, request an autographed photo of Bob Mansfield.

It didn't occur to me to ask for it the other day, just to see what reaction I would get.

if apple calls asking what they can do, i'll say they can max out my RAM. i'm going to do it DIY anyway.
