Mine is not yet prepped for shipping, but the fact others' machines are is exciting :D

I haven't checked that spreadsheet in a couple weeks now, but it seems like someone changed my order date. I think someone explained how to sign in and change the spreadsheet earlier in the thread, but it's 11 pages now and I just can't be bothered. If it matters, I ordered mine on the 3rd not the 9th of May.

Either way, I'm so excited for the WWDC presentation and hopefully my computer ships today or sometime this week, although I'm away from home on vacation  Thus is life I suppose. I just hope when I get home, I'll come home to a pretty iMac box :D

Mine too ... just got JuneCloud Confirmation & had to check the web

Ooops ... I think I've just wet myself ;)

Anyone else? I ordered on May 4.

WTF I ordered early morning of May 3rd and my order has yet to update
Screw you apple, do it as you receive it!

Hey, I wouldn't panic .... i suspect that this is a sign that they will all start to move soon

and then ... let the FedEx stalking commence :)

Man, Marco Arment doesn't look so well. Told him a month ago to view Reading List as a great excuse to start on a new project. Today... I think he'll listen to me.

I'm going to find out if it'll be possible to make Lion DVDs/USB keys from the App Store install.

Well, the apple store has just changed its home page.

Lion is coming in July.

What that means for our iMacs - I dunno. Anyone else getting shipping updates?

Updated.

Ordered mine on May 3, still no change to the shipping status. Am in Canada, so maybe US only orders are starting to prep for shipping??

Actually, have any US orders been updated to prepared for shipment? So far I see only abrmecom and DJHack; abrmecom has no location listed, and DJHack is in Wales.

Maybe :apple: are trying to make us Europeans feel better after all that messing with our delivery dates

Hopefully we will all wake up to some updated shipping ... Hopefully!

But obviously seems to have nothing to do with Lion or WWDC ... Onwards with the rumours then ;)

With the announcement of Lion with anybody purchasing an iMac starting today, June 6, getting a copy for free. Does this mean that all of us who ordered our BTO 27 inch iMac with SSD would be eligible, because it still hasn't shipped yet? Does it count when you order or when you get shipped? I know Apple Care doesn't start until it is shipped. Our order is not charged until Apple ships the iMac. I think this means we haven't really purchased the computer yet until we are actually charged or does it? Does anyone know if we will be able to get Lion for free, or we would have to cancel and reorder, which I am sure none of us want to or are willing to do, because of how long the wait is. What do you think?

Personally, to me, Lion is $30. I won't cry if I have to spend $30, considering most of the 27" SSD iMacs were close to $3K taxed and shipped. I can deal with 1% of the purchase price for a new operating system.

And that $30 covers the Thunderbolt MacBook Pro I already have.

Limbo still

In line with dfine1966's questions above: I just noticed yesterday that Apple has made a reservation on my credit card for the full purchase amount. That was the situation immediately upon placing my order May 3rd, but the original reservation was lifted soon enough.

I really cannot believe Apple did that to rules-lawyer around what would be the nice touch: to honor not-yet-shipped iMacs with a Lion freebee.

I most certainly expect my BTO iMac 27 to be shipped with Lion. If not they will get a 3 week used iMac right back in late July or early august ;-)

I certainly hope your winking emoticon means you're joking. Otherwise that just might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

My delivery date just got pushed back from June 22 to June 27, with my ship date unchanged at June 21. I'm in San Francisco and just got the standard shipping option, but its estimate was one day after shipping until less than an hour ago.

I had assumed that my short shipping estimate was because it would be shipping from Union City, as the US 21.5" SSD iMacs had been so far. Maybe they're shipping from somewhere else now?

Perhaps it's time to give Apple a call and see if I can get free upgraded shipping, since a few people here seem to have had success doing that.

Seems like the delivery date slipping is a common issue... Mine also slipped from:

Ships: June 24
Delivers: June 27

to

Ships: June 24
Delivers: June 29

And I'm upgraded to priority shipping... I'm still hoping that since those earlier orders are getting prepared for shipping that maybe we'll all see movement soon.

I called and they didn't have any explanation for the slipped date, but they did upgrade me to 2-3 day shipping, so my new expected delivery date is June 24.

My delivery date just got pushed back also, and I had overnight shipping, which they upgraded for free. It is still shipping On June 21, but instead of delivery June 22, the schedule has change to June 24th. How can overnight shipping be 3 days?

Central California here, and my original ship delivery date was pushed from June 21 to 27 as well. Bit of a bummer really, but as already stated, this likely means they aren't shipping from a local facility. But who the hell knows. Still says "Not yet shipped" as well.

I just called Apple because mine slipped from delivering the 16th to the 21st. I told them that my delivery was after the 6 week delivery estimate to begin with and I was willing to be patient but with my delivery slipping to the 21st, I'd like some compensation and suggested I'd like overnight shipping.

He said that normally my shipment would come from Union City (I'm in California), but he said the shipment this time will be coming straight from China and that the best he can offer me is 2-3 business day shipping. I said that's reasonable and that's it.

If my order were to ship on the 15th as originally stated, and it took the 3 full days it'd get to me on the 20th (because it hits a weekend). So worst case scenario I only get my computer a day earlier.

The only hope it'll come sooner is he said that the date they show on orders usually has a couple days baked in to make sure someone's credit card won't decline the order. So he said my computer has a real possibility of shipping before the 15th date.

Either way, I thought I'd share my info with the 1-800-MY-APPLE guy :D

Yeah, I got demoted too. I'm on 2-day shipping, and the ship date is still June 15, but my arrival date changed from June 17 to June 20.

I called, and they told me it was because they were now shipping it from overseas. I asked to upgrade to overnight shipping, but the guy told me it wasn't available, because it's coming from overseas, but he refunded me the $35 2-day shipping charge.

Weird that he claimed overnight shipping wasn't available, since it sounds like plenty of people are still getting that option. Maybe I'll call again tomorrow and try my luck with someone else.

Interesting - I just had the exact opposite thing happen with my order. My ship date stayed the same (June 20), but now my delivery date has been moved up from June 27 to June 24. I'm in Pennsylvania, USA. Maybe they're just getting ready to pull the rug out from under me, and move the whole thing back . . .

IMAC ordered May 15 and to be shipped June 28 and until today was to be delivered June 29. ( I am in Sacramento, CA ) Noticed today delivery date changed to July 7th. Called and Apple Rep immediately changed delivery to July 1--no charge and made mention to probably expect it sooner and it would be coming from over seas!
