I rang Apple today just to find out if my maxed-all-but-RAM iMac (ordered 2nd June, due 22 July) would qualify for Lion (installed or qualifying for Up To Date), and also mentioned that a quote of 4-6 weeks availability suddenly turning into over 7 weeks was a bit weird. Just had an email back telling me that it's now due for delivery next week...!

I'll believe it when I see it, or at least see the Apple online order status update. No confirmation on Lion though...

For $30 its not worth worrying about :)

I got free upgrade to Lion, so I guess each and every one of us will get it if you ask.

Yes, Belgium seems to be further than Albania or Kosovo :)) (just a figure of speech: I don't actually know people in Albania or Kosovo who ordered an iMac with SSD :D)

As far as I can tell all of the shipments thus far are headed to European customers. Oh, the irony (considering the slipped ship dates of a few weeks ago)!

If it helps, I am one of the European customers who was messed about a few weeks ago and my order still hasn't even started to be prepared for shipment, despite ordering on the first day.

It may still be that they are shipping in time order. I ordered at 1pm GMT, which is probably later than a lot of Europeans, but earlier than most in the US.

I guess that the first day has a much larger amount of orders than any other day and so it takes a few days of shipments to get through all the orders on that day.

Having said that I will be a bit cheesed off if mine hasn't shipped after a few days of hearing about other first day orders being shipped!

That seems to change: I ordered at 10:32 GMT on May 3 (i.e. later than you) and the online status states now states "in transit" (to Germany). No tracking # but certainly good news. I keep my fingers for your apple.de/store status to show something like that.

Mine has been cancled as well. I ordered May 3rd. Initial estimated delivery date was June 16. Now there shows a new order up with estimated delivery date July 20 - a bumper.
Not clear to me why we see the delays. One explenation would be that they discovered lately in the development cycle a major issue and didn't want to change the initial announcement plans for the new iMac - so they hoped to fix it within six weeks - obviously they where not able to - so lets see if this is the last slip in shipment dates ... Hopefully the thing will be stable at the end.

Surprise! Mine has been shipped today - estimated delivery June the 14th :D

Any non-European orders changed from "Not yet shipped" yet?

let's really get crazy - what time are your order statuses changing?? that way people can check constantly at those times. :)

or are they changing every hour.

might as well have something to do while we wait for the fedex man.:p

Ahh Men!! its still on Shanhai Airport.. I think I am going to call TNT and ask if everyting is allright :D

My 15th June exp delivery is now 16th (changed after being shipped).

More bloody volcanoes? :D

Mine has just swapped to 'not known' and then down a day to June 16 ... I tell you what, the logistics of this shipment is a bit all over the place!

It is the longest I've ever had to wait for a new Apple product

Just wish it was even trackable ... or that they could commit to a day! Not too much to ask as they must know where it is given that it's shipped now?

To let you know that, I really pissed off about the service of my local authorised reseller. I placed the order 7 May but till now I can't get estimated shipment or delivery date.

I've called for Mac OS Lion free upgrade but was told it won't happen as my order was placed in May. And they already received PO from apple, which meant my card had already been charged.

I've called to cancel my order as well but not able to do because of the reason above. I am going to wait for one more week. If still can't get any estimated shipment date or the order delay. I am going to file a case with local consumer association.

I truely feel shame for Apple about the delay as it took too long for the shipment and I can see they really mess up the logistics in this thread. :(

I think because we've waited so long Apple are trying to get it to us as fast as possible (as stated in their email) and using whichever courier they can. Hence the seemingly inconsistent, dates, no tracking etc. Syncreon don't even list Apple as one of their 'clients' so its obviously a new partnership.

It will arrive when it arrives. I'm busy the 15th so Im actually hoping mine arrives the 16th lol.

If its a BTO product then its much harder to get a refund as its configured to your liking and Apple/Reseller will have a much harder time selling it on. May I ask why you didnt just get it via Apple? It would be quicker as Apple have to ship them to the reseller and the reseller onto you.

EDIT: Ouch!!! I've just been billed!

Mine is still there too :)

Mine is now moving ahead:

08 Jun 2011 21:33:29 Pudong International Airport Shipment In Transit.
07 Jun 2011 20:26:59 Pudong International Airport Shipment Received At Transit Point.
07 Jun 2011 20:05:00 Shanghai Shipment In Transit.
07 Jun 2011 19:39:41 Shanghai Shipment In Transit.
07 Jun 2011 19:20:59 Shanghai Shipment Collected From Sender.

The finance plan is quicker with the retail store and with free RAM upgrade.
I feel pissed off as I couldn't get any estimated date and not any phone call or email for the status. And the worst, I was charged. I have a long vacation plan in July and hence my iMac will stay in the retail shop for a month if it doesn't reach by then.
I agree that i do have good experience/relationship with that shop but the staff who handle this really piss me off...

It sounds someone may get it by end of this week or early next week :) Good luck!

May I ask why you didnt just get it via Apple? It would be quicker as Apple have to ship them to the reseller and the reseller onto you.

I also bought via a reseller here in Germany because they are more than 300 Euros under the Apple Store price, I get 5 years warranty and financed over 10 months for 0 %.

Downside, I have to rely on what they tell me about the status at Apple. And that's not very good. They told me weeks ago that it should have been shipped to them ;)

Where are you located? Anyone who is posting that their iMac is shipping or had its shipping date moved up - please mention relevant details like where you are located. Still unsure if it's just our EU buddies who are getting the bump on delivery or if it's a worldwide push.

Mine moved too. Next step will be in europe already, i guess. :)

I do not think, that it will drive this week, i think delivery will be on Jun 14th....

Just had an email saying it is now in transit ...

We are happy to advise you that your order is now in transit.

Your items are shipping from different locations and will be merged together before delivery.

Once your order has merged, your Order Status will be updated with carrier details and tracking information. Please allow up to 5 business days for the online Order Status to be updated

First time I've had this particular email ... different again but maybe suggests it will be in the UK within 5 working days?

So many different bits of information ...

I wasnt knocking it. Just wondered. Sounds a good deal. I didnt think resellers could offer anything less than Apple as Apple were a bit tight with resellers. Guess not. :)

I reckon you're right, MacBoobsPro ... nice image ...

I know that it's just left China as my Apple CR has just called me so I reckon Abrmecom is spot on and they're all on the same plane heading for Ireland (or so Apple CR tells me)

Apple CR says that they will know more and more likely to have carrier info by around the 10th ... or at least a clearer idea

All good :D
