So, for the TNT Express folks like me. Just got off the phone with TNT Express. My shipment was send on the 10th of June and need to be delivered today 14th of June.

The person of the phone told me that there was an delay of 44 minutes. The latest status update told him that the package was on the plane. Kind of strange indeed - but he told me to wait till tommorow morning about an update. If not - I need to call again.

And yes, TNT Express is nothing compared to UPS and FedEx - if Apple choose those for shipping the iMacs, we were playing now. :)

I'm in the Netherlands and I guess I'm not the only one waiting.

Yep, also Waiting here. :(

I am in VA, and not counting on it before Wednesday, which sucks, as I have 2 day shipping.....

Mine is now At destination sort facility, DULLES, VA, which I am 2 miles from (when at work).

Anyone in VA know tricks to pick it up there, if it does not change to the wonderful 'out for delivery'?

I am waiting in the doorstep on the TNT driver, he is close

Do you already got a trackingnumber? Mine was shipped on the 10th also. (also in The Netherlands)

Yes the Disk (SSD) is the same in the machines but the rev 02 maybe could be a firmware, connection, caching, GC, etc.. I don't know, not a different disk, but not complete the same, I don't know how to explain it :D anyway I also think this "rev02" is the cause of the imac27" delay!

Usually when the firmware is updated, the identification number will change. TS256B was last years, while TS256C is this years. But when the TS256B is updated it shows TS256C, indication of a firmware change. Updated software for the SSD. Most likely a firmware or software update for the SSD the TS256 designation would also change indicating as such. I got a refurb 2010 27 i7 with SSD and my model number is the same as the 2011 27's with SSD the TS256C SSD.

The revision is not a firmware change. The SSD is the exact same. The revision can be anything, motherboard related, cabling, voltage etc. We don't know. I called Apple and they said the SSD is the same and the revision is just that a 'revision'. They dont even know why or what it means.

When my 21.5 i7 with SSD gets updated they we will know. But I dont' think anything will change.

Quick Tip

Those of you like me and need to transfer 5000+ songs from another Mac in your house to this iMac... Don't use home sharing to do so. Started it and it was taking 3-5 seconds a song. Both my MBP and iMac are on Wireless G so maybe running both through a cable might have been faster. Quick math suggests that it would take around 250 hours to copy over that many songs. I will be using target mode and a firewire 800 cable to accomplish this feat.

Oh and don't forget to change your iTunes library to the HDD or you've just wasted a bunch of time and needless writes to you SSD.

I moved over 500GB in about 4 hours on FireWire.

I'm holding out a slight glimmer of hope that I might get mine later today. It is "at destination sort facility" in Middletown, PA as of 6:18 am (got there via Indianapolis, not Memphis). Most people seem like they have to wait a day after that to receive it. My only hope is that I also have an iPad on the way, and that was at the same destination sort facility as of 6:09 a.m., and that one is scheduled by 4:30 today. The iMac is scheduled by 10:30 tomorrow. Here's to hoping that FedEx is cost-efficient, and will send them both to the office on the same truck today.

So much for that hope. The iPad was scanned at the local FedEx facility (York, PA) at 7:53 a.m. today. The iMac was scanned at 8:00 a.m. The iPad was on the truck for delivery at 8:24 a.m. No such luck with the iMac.

If that doesn't get updated, anybody know if I can go in person to the local facility and pick it up? I'll be driving near there later today.

For anyone who cares. I received my iMac (Holland).. jippiee!!! I am happy as a little kid :)

Sent by TNT?

Yes, didn't Apple send you a "Shipment Notification" email? Tracking number and carrier name are included in there. Then just go to the carrier website and type in your tracking number.

Oh man! I am the stupidest person alive. Yeah Syncreon and I guess my delivery reference is the tracking number? I can't find a Syncreon tracker that works though

I tried this for my iPad 2 at my local Fedex facility in Fort Worth, and they wouldn't give it to me. It was on the truck, and it hadn't left the facility, but they said that Apple required them to make a delivery attempt even though I was standing right there with my ID and order confirmation and tracking information. They said that once that they'd made the delivery attempt that I could then pick it up that evening at the facility when the truck returned. I was very polite, and the Fedex guy thought that it was a silly requirement, too, but his hands were tied. I'm sure that there are good reasons for this, but it was frustrating.

Anyway, I had left a Fedex signature authorization on my front door, so I rushed home at lunch and got it off of the porch. I don't think that I would do that with a big iMac box sitting on my porch, however.

If you're nearby, you might as well give it a shot, but I don't think that they'll release it if they haven't made at least one delivery attempt.

Looks like the shipping time frames are indeed improving. I ordered on June 6 with a ship date of July 19, and my order just changed to Prepared for Shipment. My order page still says that the expected ship date is July 19, so maybe it'll just sit in that status for 5 weeks with no way to cancel. :D

Mine is 'out for delivery', so the little stop in Japan didn't slow things down in a meaningful way. They're 1 day ahead of schedule, and this is why I've never paid for expedited shipping from Apple. Somehow they alway manage to get stuff here from China in about 3 days with standard shipping.

UPS was ready to deliver, but Apple delayed it?

It sure looks that way... Why would Apple do that?

Shipping time changed from 4-6 to 1-2 weeks in the Apple store.
