2011 Thunderbolt iMac w/ SSD Shipment Tracker

I tried this for my iPad 2 at my local Fedex facility in Fort Worth, and they wouldn't give it to me. It was on the truck, and it hadn't left the facility, but they said that Apple required them to make a delivery attempt even though I was standing right there with my ID and order confirmation and tracking information. They said that once that they'd made the delivery attempt that I could then pick it up that evening at the facility when the truck returned. I was very polite, and the Fedex guy thought that it was a silly requirement, too, but his hands were tied. I'm sure that there are good reasons for this, but it was frustrating.

Anyway, I had left a Fedex signature authorization on my front door, so I rushed home at lunch and got it off of the porch. I don't think that I would do that with a big iMac box sitting on my porch, however.

If you're nearby, you might as well give it a shot, but I don't think that they'll release it if they haven't made at least one delivery attempt.

Thanks for the info. As it turned out, my tracking info suddenly updated to "out for delivery" at 9:48 and "delivered" one minute later at 9:49. I saw it on my phone before our receptionist could even buzz me. I rushed downstairs, and there it was along with the iPad. Nice job FedEx!

Unfortunately, I have an afternoon appointment, so I won't get to use it until late afternoon or early evening. But I'm just glad I have it a day earlier than expected, so I'm not complaining.

Shipping time changed from 4-6 to 1-2 weeks in the Apple store.

In the US store, they just changed to 5-7 days. (last week it said 4-6 weeks).

My current order (even when clicked on to see the status page) shows still the Jul 22 estimated ship date. Does anyone know when apple will update this? Will they likely not say anything to me (status or email update) until it actually ships?

I'm expecting now that it may ship next week. (order placed June 9)

Hi! Fellow Canuck here. Mine went through Mount Hope too.

I don't know where you are, but it may have to do with the shipper.

I'm in Northern Ontairo. UPS doesn't deliver here. So they hand off to Purolator in North Bay and it goes from there. I had a similar message and that was why.

Fingers crossed it is on the truck today!

Estimated build time for an UltiMac is now 5-7 business days. I trust those of us who placed more recent orders should expect a "shipped" email shortly...

The orders are being processed thick and fast right now. My order from Apple still states:

Ordered: 25th May
Ships: 8th July
Delivers: 15th July

However the Cancel Items button is greyed out and my items have already been prepared for shipment. My credit card has also got the pending charge against it, so my iMac is definitely ready to rock and roll.

All I need now is the email from Apple with the tracking info.

Mine's still in Pudong as well and my carrier is TNT. For anyone who has got theirs in the UK, long did it take from the Pudong and which carrier did you have?

Mine is also being kept prisoner in Pudong. Not moved for 4 days now. I called TNT and they said the flight was delayed but had no info. She said she would get someone to call China to find out whats up and get back to me tomorrow. It was due for delivery today

i ordered 05/25.
yesterday it went to prepared for shipment, same due date though of 07/14
last night i got a shipment notification, along with a tracking number, same due date of 07/14
tracking number is active and shows i'll get it tomorrow or thursday.

the dates in the order status for shipment / receipt date are incorrect.

im literally in the same boat as you. ordered june 9th, and it still shows july 22nd as the ship date and the 27th as the delivery date. i called apple and they told me that i shouldnt change my order because i'm already in the front of the line in terms of imac orders, and if i was to cancel and reorder, it would place me behind of the line.

the rep told me that i should expect a date change by this week, which is reassuring. its just a little weird that i ordered last week when it was quoted 4-6 weeks, and it literally dropped to 1-2 weeks and now to 5-7 days, and nothing has been reflected in my order.

My shiny new 27" SSD iMac arrived yesterday (a day early ) and I wasn't really ready for it yet - had to clear space on the desk and backup stuff off of my old 27" 2009 i7 before the SSD moves in.

So I took it out of the dirty brown shipping box, opened the top to at least take a joyous peek inside and then tucked it into the room next to my office (the laundry room) to keep it 'safely' away from the nefarious clutches of my 14 month old daughter.

Fast-forward to about 1am and the loud sound of rushing water in the house.
My wife and I burst into the laundry to see a solid stream of water blasting away at my brand new 27" iMac SSD square in the side of the box. The hot water valve for the laundry sink blew clean off of the pipe and proceeded to quickly empty the 75 gallon water heater into the laundry, garage and adjacent hallways.

After shutting off the water supply to the house and spending 4 hrs cleaning up the water, the damage assessment is limited to just the box.

I know you're tracking this thread with earnest Mr. Steve Jobs, probably nothing better to do If you could send me a new box I promise to love it and keep it safe, high and dry.

Arrived today - what an impressive and wonderfull piece of technology!

My first Mac! Lightning fast and easy to use. I'm still need to get more used to the Magic Trackpad, but I think this is just a matter of time. I'm glad that I've choosen this over the Magic Mouse.

I'm on the same boat: mine shipped on June 11th.

Italian TNT website adds a June 13th (yesterday) update stating that the package is still in Pudong Airport, Shangai with "Possible delay due to air traffic congestion or restricted space on the plane".

WTF ?!
