No chance. Moving up from 6 to 3 is plenty. Oregon shredded Washington too. Zero chance they're #2 this week.

Edit, guess at Top 10 (going off AP as I believe their Top 10 and overall Top 25 is better):

1) Alabama
2) Oregon
3) South Carolina
4) Kansas State
5) West Virginia (if anyone jumps anyone, WVU will jump to #4 past Kansas State just because)
6) Notre Dame
7) Florida
8) Ohio State
9) LSU (unfortunately this fraud of a team probably wont drop further)
10) Southern Cal

Probably Georgia in the 11-15 range, perhaps even just 11 though they should drop more, as should LSU, but the 6-10 teams move up to take the 3-5 slots and then a few of those teen ranked teams lost, so you'll get something like that.

This I like.

What I think:

1) Alabama
2) Oregon
3) South Carolina
4) Florida
5) West Virginia
6) Kansas State
8) Ohio State
9) Notre Dame
10) LSU

Can't wait to see what they actually are.

This one's a little ridic.

Why?

Notre Dame smashed a crappy Miami team. Whoop-de-do.

Ohio State looked like sledgehammer against a talented Nebraska team.

Florida shut down the #3 team, shouldn't they at least be 4?

South Carolina obviously is going to 3.

West Virginia, despite mistakes, took out Texas ranked #11 on the road

K State had a great win, but against an unranked opponent.

and LSU lost, but lost on the road to a good Florida team.

I could see USC and Florida State right on the edge, but both have lost games they shouldn't have.

If you disagree that's one thing, but I hardly find it to be ridiculous.

I'm a bit surprised Florida got such a bump. LSU has been scrubbing it the past 2 weeks and from the bits I watched of the game, neither team was too impressive. That's the SEC media bump for you, though.

In the end if the other undefeated teams can stay that way, they will surpass Florida and South Carolina. For the SEC, it'll be their worst nightmare if Alabama, S. Carolina, and Florida all knock each other off.

An undefeated Oregon (most likely to run the table) and undefeated Big 12 Champ (WVU or KSU) or ND will all trump a 1 loss SEC team for the BCS. Regardless of your beliefs in conference strength or SOS, it'll happen.

Note: All based on speculation with many tough games remaining for those teams. WVU and KSU still have to play one another and tough conference games (Oklahoma mainly for WVU, Texas for KSU). ND still has Oklahoma and USC - both on the road.

As much as I dislike ND, they're starting to look for real. Their D has given up what... three TDs all year? That's less than Alabama or any other SEC defense. I believe they're tied for best in the nation. The thing is they still have to go on the road vs. Oklahoma and Southern Cal. Good luck, Irish.

I think ND is a top ten team at the moment, but they haven't really played anybody good this year yet. At least in my opinion.

They had a close win against bad Michigan, and they had a decent win against Michigan State, and they beat Purdue by 3. Navy and Miami wins aren't really a big deal since neither team is decent at all.

I don't think their defense is that great yet. They'll lose to Stanford or Oklahoma I think before they lose to USC too.

I would like to see the SEC teams knock each other off too. But I think one of them will go undefeated. Either Alabama or South Carolina, and they'll be playing either WVU or Oregon for the national championship. I hope Oregon doesn't slip up because I think they are for real.

Definitely not the way I expected the first part of the season to go. I just looked back at the pre-season AP poll, and it was quite different from the current standings. (USC, Bama, and LSU were 1, 2, and 3.) I wonder how the Tide will do next Sat. after two weeks off.

Just going back to this point - No, of course not. First off, LSU was #4 (I think 3 in coaches, but we all know how little they pay attention and are mindless sheeple voters).

Secondly, LSU has been so mediocre to date that while staying undefeated, they were dropped from #2 to #3 and then from #3 to #4. They were obviously overrated - hello preseason poll inflation - and did not belong where they were. It's just harder to drop when you start on top.

Then you factor in how awful they looked against Florida - who didn't look that amazing either - and you can't have Florida leapfrog everyone who (a) won and (b) won more impressively.

Florida jumped because of their body of work this year. They have played one of the toughest schedules in the country already, and have looked pretty good considering. It will only get harder this month with games against Vandy, South Carolina, and Georgia. Then in November they have to go to Tallahassee.

They pounded the #3 team in the country into submission. They just physically dominated them. This was a team that hadnt lost a regular season game in two years..That deserves a lot of credit, especially with a QB with only 4 starts in his career.

Yeah pretty much what I have to say on the matter. I don't necessarily know if they are the #4 team, but they are definitely worthy of consideration.

IMO there is no way they are the 4th best team. They are good, but not quite that good. Quite a few improvements they can make. Their defense is good enough to beat anyone in the country, but their offense has a good amount of improvement they need to make.

The Longhorns dodged a bullet last night in Stillwater. The refs missed a goal line fumble that gave us the go ahead score. I understand how they missed it in real time - the fumble happened inside the pile - but it was pretty clear upon review. Oh well - we'll take it! :)

It's good to see our quarterback come into his own this season. Our offensive line is obviously a lot better this year too. We're gonna need it next weekend, as our defense isn't nearly good enough to stop West Virginia. The only hope we have is to come out on top in the shootout. Glad we're playing at home.

We are going to want a picture of you in your OU ID thing that you have to wear for a week now that UT got pretty much creamed.

Yeah that was ugly as hell. Looks good up in Tortilla Flats right now though. 35-7 TT over WVU right before the half. Nice work by Tubs getting the Raiders' D ready to play.

Palm BCS Projections (pretty much the best numbers guy in college sports)

1) Alabama (0.9759)
2) Oregon (0.9175)
3) Florida (0.8912)
4) Notre Dame (0.8828)
5) Kansas State (0.8684)

Probably little to no fluctuation since the Harris and Coaches polls are the easiest sheeple to project. Looks pretty good to me.

If ND wins out (BIG if - especially after OU whoopin' UT and looking to get back on track), they'll easily leapfrog anyone to #2.

Alabama - at Tennessee, at LSU, Mississippi State, A&M and Championship Game

Oregon - at USC, Stanford, at Oregon State and Championship Game

Florida - SCarolina, Georgia, at Florida State and Championship Game

KState - at West Virginia, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, at TCU, at Baylor and Texas

Notre Dame - BYU, at Oklahoma and at USC

Still a lot of football left to play... a LOT

And another amazing escape for Johnny Football last night (amid some atrocious defense on both sides), the Walter Camp national Offensive Player of the Week.

Oh, and Stanford got screwed last night. Big time. Pac-12 refs, too.

We all see how great he did against theory real defense he played this year. You better just hope Bama and LSU don't break him.

A redshirt freshman QB, playing in his first game in almost two years, against a top ten (albeit poorly-conditioned) defense, with a new coaching staff, in a new offensive system, struggles a little? Unheard of!

Manziel, Sumlin and Kingsbury could not possibly have learned from that experience and improved over the next several weeks. That wouldn't make any sense at all.
