Zero chance. Had some hopes around WWDC but the flaky nature of SKUs released back then and the general nature of the event on iOS made me a little nervous. Not nervous at all now. Although they left it very late. Can't have imagine launching a new Mac after the middle of Nov

I speak out of no rationale whatsoever. Its like being jealoux, it doesnt make sende. Im am completely aware of the imminent launch, and I would advocate it more than anyone else. But I fear so much that it will not appear. Its like a phobia of some sort. Omg!!!! Applenotreleasaphobia. Alot of people here have it. Mike Valmike for one ^^

Probably Edry as well by now ^^ maybe even 42 :)?

Just noticed that shipping dates have slipped to 7-10 business days on BTO high-end 27" iMacs in the US Apple online store... Just an observation!

Been like that for a week or so. Weirder is the shipping dates for non BTO is 7-8 days atm for all models save the low 27"

Wouldn't it be cool if we could get this thread to beat the 277 pages and 6925 posts set by the "Steve Jobs Suggests Blu-Ray Not Coming to Mac Anytime Soon" thread !!

C'mon, only 150 or so more pages! ;)

I'm excited for you guys who have been waiting for so long. it must be an awesome feeling. I'm personally excited 'cause we're gonna pick up one of the mini iPads. blasphemous to speak of in the Mac area, I know.

Couldnt wait

Well I have sat on the sidelines for to long. I unpluged my windows desktop about a year ago. Was trying to do HD video editing on it and well lets just say it was like watching paint dry. So now she rests under my stairs collecting dust. So about 2 or 3 weeks ago I couldnt stand it. I have 3 go pro HD camaras and two Sony HD camcorders all about filled with video and it needed to go somewhere. So I knew new iMacs were coming someday hopefully soon. But yet winter is coming Im in Alaska so winters are long and dark and can use a good computer to kill the nights. So I went all in with a new iMac 27 model with the 3.4 i7 and Im wondering why I waited so long now. This thing is a beast, I upgraded the ram to two 8 gb sticks with the stock 4 gb so 20 gb ram total and it does everything I need without a problem. I know SSD could be stock now or who knows what the 3.4 i7 could be the new low end iMac. Either way everyone should be excited if you have a iMac and need to upgrade I hope it is all the hype. If you recently upgraded dont be sad you still have a amazing machine. There will always be better coming, just enjoy your machine and use it. I love mine and hope all you new iMac 2012 love yours too

Can't wait. But also worried about problems. My head is filled with teardrop designs with a 70s sci-fi feel. Haha... I should get that out of my head otherwise I'll be disappointed!

BTW, if I give my old machine to my Parents in law, what do I do about the ML OS on it from my app store account??? I'd like to give them a clean computer to do with what they like and not need to rely on my password to DL apps.

You can just do a fresh install, and give it to them before you boot up for the first time, and they can create their own app store account. The fact that you bought ML from appstore wont matter

Once you transfer all your info and data to your new machine, then you can wipe the drive on the old machine, and even set it up so that, to them, it appears like a brand new machine (and they install and load anything they want onto the old machine, including synchronizing it with an older Mac, if they were to have one.

Stakes? I think the iMac will be EOLed and we won't see another refresh in its current form. I think Tim Cook's "something great in 2013 for pro users" is going to be a different, combined or otherwise revamped desktop model.

Damn, Mike Valmike, I wish you had got back to me in DM for setting stakes on this baby...

I asked about the 'new' iMac at the Genius Bar

at the AppleStore in Milan, Italy. I asked if I'd be able to buy one next week. Pietro smiled and said he didn't think they would have any deliveries by next week of the 'new' iMac, but he was hoping so.

(p.s. Everyone else in the crowd at the Genius Bar was being helped with shiny telephonic and tabletic devices. Dinosaur Mac Desktop/laptop users are definitely just a vocal minority nowadays!)

I hope that smile meant something as the ones i received last week at my questions about mini and Imac in Florence Applestore (I Gigli)

I see, the SSD is usually an option though correct? So if I were to purchase a base 27" model it'll come with a normal HDD and the SSD can be added if I chose to?

Or hard drives of varying sizes, or both together.

As you've been able to do already for years online at store.apple.com

When(if) the new iMac is released next week, will the current refurbs be removed from the apple store? Or will they stay and drop in price at all?

It must be next Tuesday. All iMacs and Mac minis are out of stock during the last week in most Greek electronic stores.

With your optimist glasses on
the picture you paint is just plain wrong
nothing more than a TED song
the imacs
- they're all gone

so next tuesday
you'll be crying
stumbling all over your lying
7 days of hope
and then nothing
once again you will be denying
it won't matter
cause negativity is flying

and cook is counting idevices
while apple plays with you like dices
in the crises
with heartbeats as cold as ices

Oh boy a "wordsmith" he he... wellarightythen.

Any educated guesses on the graphics card for the lowest end iMac? Would it be the same as the 15" Macbook Pro (NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M)? They wouldn't go down from a AMD Radeon HD 6750M to a Intel HD Graphics 4000, right?

Ladies...Gentlemen...

I just don't see how Apple is going to release iMacs without the Retina display... They have too. It's so obvious... MacBooks have them.. IPads, iPhones and iPod touches have them...

What would be the point of releasing a product without Retina when we all know Retina is the next best thing? They absolutely HAVE too...

Oh boy a "wordsmith" he he... wellarightythen.

On a more positive take and for all those patient long time waiters, we could also rephrase the thing to something like ...

The imacs?
Don't drop tears
Cause yeah they'll be coming
Better than your girl
Shiny, new, and all stunning
They'll blow you off the spot
Make you feel good
(And your girl nice, wet and hot)

Kind of a nice side effect
Of gigs of space
The fastest pace
Better leave without a trace
And get ready to embrace

Next Tuesday's truth
Now is the time to get loose
And don't let those ghosts of the past get you haunted
It'll be more than you ever wanted ...
