The difference is that they still had mac pro stock. I'm not sure how they wiggle out of this one.

guys, the stores are empty everywhere, there HAVE been rumors about thinner imacs and even the Chinese photos, come on, in some hours will be sitting here and crossing our fingers for a soon delivery of our new iMac-orders ;)

Computer part lagging behind

Problem with Apple is that they are lagging so much behind with all things related to computers. It is not just desktop computers.

iLife is pretty old now. Came out October 2010 I think. And iWork I think was released back in january 2009.

They need to get their focus back on the Macintosh part. Atleast we getting a new iTunes this month.

If this is true, then my fears of Apple getting out of the desktop market is true. Judging from their marketing materials (on the web, in the stores), they only want the Macbook Pro and Air along side their precious iPhone and iPad.

I hoping my theory is false.

Yeah macbooks are totally overpriced, that's what Apple like, overprized products with the minimum specifications. iMac is not a good bussiness due to the hight specifications in relations with price.

IDK that photo could as well been rMBP 13"

If the iMac was thinner, we'd have a leaked photo by now. We don't even have leaked specs...

I have a feeling there's no redesign. Possibly no 2012 iMacs. We may get a "coming early 2013" type of announcement.

That would be amazing.

When you go on Apple.com page and go to MAC if you click on Macbook or iMac you wil get picture of the computers but when you click buy one it will say we are updating bla bla on milion languanges....

Only on MacMini if you go on page you get that is updated.

you should see what their annual profit is like compared to their competitors.

Wait, do they even have competitors?

even if they just show it and say it's coming in january I'd be ok with that... I just don't want to have to buy a macbook or an outdated imac and then 2 months from now something new pops up... I can wait a little longer, but need to plan accordingly

...and for the love all things sacred - please annouce updates to iLife, especially iPhoto and its lack of ability to sync albums created on the iPhone back to the desktop software just to give an example.

Apple really needs to spin off the Mac division and let a company who actually takes pride in desktop computers run things for a while.

That page has clearly not been updated. Nothing has been updated. The store is still closed.

Especially there's NO LEAKS. If there was a Retina iMac, we'd have seen the glass by now. If it was thinner, we'd seen the casing by now. And yet, 40 minutes from event time, WE. STILL. DON'T. HAVE. SPECS.

I'm really wondering about it, anyways...

SKUs + dried up stocks plus Gameday decision as 9to5mac says. Can't imagine that TC 5 min ago would have said: "Hey, the sun is shining, let's present the new iMacs today". Sounds just illogical.

No new iMacs today and no mentions about it, could mean that they EOLd it. That's, however, illogical as well. Why is the mini still available... I got it! It's mobile, it's portable but BYOMKD

Lat's face it... they have still problems with the screens and that's, to some extent, ok. If they wont introduce the new iMac today, they should at least drop the prices considerably and make a statement.

They did that back in 2004 when the new iMac G5 was introduced... except the fact that you couldn't order the iMac G4 further on.

This is going to be an excruciating event to watch without any mention of imac.

It's will be sine we all know it's about the iPad mini and the rMBP. If they said it was about "Back to Mac", then I'd be doing cartwheels. But since they didn't "theme" it, I'm hoping this is an all encompassing event.

I decipher it, their invitations tag line. "We've got a little more to show you" I infer there will be a "one more thing". Cross fingers.
