How should it be "quite obvious?" It's NOT obvious, because Apple has "doubled down on secrecy" and isn't SAYING anything. Well, this is one of those times when a company would be better served to do so. Nobody sells a two-year-old PC at full chop. It's just beyond the pale at this point.
I would like to think they'd tell us what's going on today. It would be pretty bad form to update the Mini without the iMac.
But it's not Apple that needs the time. It's Foxconn, or whomever is having trouble making the displays.
They (Apple) think that everything that has a black apple can cost all the money they want.... But they don't care we are starting to think they are arrogant and cons.... Simply and clear!
Prior to today's articles, there was roughly as much evidence of new iMac as there was of 13" rMBP, Mac Mini, iPad Mini, and New New iPad. But if all you pay attention to is Apple official statements, then I guess it's not obvious any of those are being worked on either.
I honestly wouldn't even be mad if it didn't come out today but they did announce its coming, with a estimated release date. I mean let us know something. If they don't mention it AT ALL it would be a huge slap in the face to consumers.
You do realize that the vocal people that complain on forums is less than 1% of Apple's customer base, right? You know this, right? They aren't catering to the die-hard people.
It's the same in gaming, especially MMO's. The designers don't design the game for the 1% to see, they design it for the majority of the player-base, which isn't the top 1% of the players that are obsessed with the game(s).
That's not true either. We had a veritable photo portfolio of iPad Mini and rMBP-13 stuff and we had plenty of accessory shots for iPad Maxi. All we have had for iMac has been that one unattributed photo of the inside of SOMETHING that COULD be an iMac. The one thing that appears set to show up today that we didn't get any sneak preview is the new Mini.
In a few hours we'll know for sure, but don't pretend the leaks have been uniform across the product lines, because they have not been.
No, but its business 101 that you have to pay attention to the crowd influencers in niche markets. Sure, that geeky 20 year old is a small % of your customer base, but all 4 of his grandparents, both parents, aunts, uncles, less-computer-inclined friends, and even friends of the people I just mentioned, will "check in" with that geeky 20 year old to find out the "smart buys" every once in a while.
That 1% is often a representative of a much higher % as the local expert, of sorts.
1 hour left. Question is if I´m gonna end up spending two hours of boredom watching the livestream or if it´s gonna be my main moment for 2012. Yeah seriously because of the delay, it´s that important to me
It´s the one MAIN thing I´ve been waiting for since april. And no new iMac or any info today, I don´t know how I´m gonna react. I need a new computer and I need to buy it this year. If there´s no new iMac this year, I need to find a different way to do my business.

Why don't we have more rumors on the iMacs at this point?
I've been quite optimistic up until now. Wasn't too bothered about the iPad Mini and 13" rMBP getting more attention and more leaks - simply because they are popular products.
What's bothering me is that the Mac Mini spec's have been leaked with no iMac leak whatsoever.
What also concerns me is that even if the iMac release is a gameday decision.. surely the spec's will be leaked regardless..

If the iMac was thinner, we'd have a leaked photo by now. We don't even have leaked specs...
I have a feeling there's no redesign. Possibly no 2012 iMacs. We may get a "coming early 2013" type of announcement.

Maybe they´ll do the Mac Pro stunt. Just add a new tag over an OLD product. I think if we won´t see any iMac today, and not a single comment from Apple, there will be so much negative media attention that Apple would eventually have to give out a comment.

If this is true, then my fears of Apple getting out of the desktop market is true. Judging from their marketing materials (on the web, in the stores), they only want the Macbook Pro and Air along side their precious iPhone and iPad.
I hoping my theory is false.
