In honor of... What are they thinking? Cannot buy an iMac ???

Would you ever think that you couldn't buy an iMac on Apple's own website?
What are they thinking? In the honor of the founder of the company and just some plain old common sense you would hope that Apple would have available some version of the iMac for purchase current or new!

Last time I went into the Apple Store (Nov. 2nd), they did have iMacs.

2011 model, brand new, discounted.

I am sick and tired of waiting and waiting.. I know you are all too. It just annoys me i have things that need to be done, and i need to do them on a new imac. GET YOUR **** IN GEAR APPLE.

Fun fact: went to Media Markt today (one of the biggest electronics superstore chains here in Germany), looking for iMac discounts. They had the 2011 model on display with a sign next to it: "not available". This is absurd.

At least with the 21" coming a month earlier, it will give those of us waiting for the 27" a chance to see demand. If the 21" are selling out and pushed back for weeks/months, then we know we better have our trigger fingers ready when they post the 27" for sale!

Not really because the 21.5" is going to be much more popular.

Apple needs to get their asses in gear and get moving on this. Why is it that every new product Apple puts out lately seems to have supply chain issues?

I guess we wouldn't know for sure unless apple gave us numbers on both, but I'd think the 27" would be more popular myself

The 27" will definitely be more popular with the kind of people who post on Apple forums... but we are the exception, not the rule. I am thinking that the base 21" is going to be the big seller with everybody else.

Question, after the Apple release how long does it normally take places such as Best Buy and Amazon to stock them? Or do they normally accept orders about the same time?

I say the 21.5" will be the bigger seller because it's the cheapest option.

That's hard to say, it might be a while, it might be at the same time.

The iPad mini was stocked in other stores on the release date, but that's because stock and delivery went well.

If stock and delivery really don't go well for the iMacs, the priority will be the Apple Store, then other stores can begin selling.

It's likely that stock won't go too well with the iMacs, I think you'll be waiting a while for other stores to get them.

Thanks.

I asked a BB employee about a week after the announcement if he knew when they was coming out but he only knew the Nov/Dec time but said Apple would likely send them an email the day before release and let them know.

The funny thing about this whole thing is, on the 20th of October I decided I wanted to get a Mac and put some money back to save, three days later the new Macs was announced. Perfect timing, lol

how will it look on the store tho?

if the 21" becomes available first

will there be an option to select 21" and what about 27" how is it going to work out?

Wooooopss, looks like today(tuesday) is not the day :(, daaaaamn

California time happens in 3 hours.

The earth is round, so they divide clocks into different parts. This way 12:00 is always noon or midnight, depending if the sun is out or the moon is visible.
