I'm calling fake.

Just because Apple really needs a huge step forwards with their lineup to continue to keep their reputation as being on the bleeding edge of design.

The unibody MBP was a revolution, and so was the Air, but now other companies are catching up with the design curve, and if Apple doesn't surge forward again with something new, they'll get left in the dust by the time they put out their next MBP revision.

I've been waiting for 6 months for Apple's big refresh, and if they disappoint on June 11th, my patience will run out, and I will be taking a serious look at the Asus Zenbook Prime.

The same will happen for me!

1280 x 800!!!! noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
please wake me up.

----------

Calm down,guys.... this is true, but i have insider info, that this particular model will be still on market, as an cheap alternative to new one. Just like MacBook White was...
cheap alternative and MacBook Pro shouldn't have anything to do with each other. I call your bluff.

----------

ha lol well tbh i would be quite happy with a cheaper MBP, i need a nippy machine for a couple of programs but nothing super fast, but i also need storage which cuts out the MBA. I need a consumer basic pro
why not just get an external drive then? if all you need it for is storage you can get a drive dirt cheap. super fast always!

So in theory if this 13 inch rumor lives up to be true will this mean the 15inch will see the same speculations no retina same resolution no removal of disc drive etc, as I just sold my MacBook for the need of a bigger screen and for the rumored overhaul I will be ironically living with my iPad for a long time.

7970 is so much better, top notch, a dream!

But 7850 is better than gt650m, which is the gpu everybody is saying will come with the new pros.

Sad but true.

Looking that all rumors were fake lately, and Apple lately copies the specs form HP laptops, we will see in next MBP 15 IB 2.6 GHz, 8GB RAM DDR3, and Radeon HD 7770M-7850M, which are in my opinion far better than GT650M-GTX660M.

I know one thing. If this will be spec of new MBP without Redesign, im buing it on first day..

R.I.P Macbook pro 13"

It's safe to assume with the current spec sheet leak that it spells the end for the 13" MBP.

It will be stripped of its "Pro" moniker then left to sell as a "basic" macbook for everyday computing.

RIP MBP 13"...you had a good run, even if you never deserved the "Pro" title in the first place.

Because it doesn't have Retina Display and thinner design it's not anymore "Pro".

Oh god...

Pro needs power. Using thinner design in 13 MBP will force Apple to use in it the ULV processors, which are base of the Air. Putting in MBP SSD, Retina, which will go to Air, ULV Proc, and thin design, what would differentiate it from the Air? Only the name?

Some things are not possible for Apple to deal with. Those things are laws of physics. MBP with thinner design, and Ivy Bridge would be too hot for even normal use.

so how do you know if its not even out yet and the only evidence u got is a rumor and a photo that could be anything

Everyone stop posting about how you are going to be angry if apple doesn't release a fully redesigned MacBook pro.
They never once said they would so for all you know they could be sticking with a 4 year product cycle, and release them in October just like when they first released the unibody MacBook pro in October 2008

Nobody even knows if that image is real or fake. At best I think it's questionable. I wouldn't be planning the funeral just yet.

They may change the form factor, they may give it a retina display, or they may not. They may change its name and remove "Pro" from it...or they may not. In all honesty, the Pro name isn't really important. If the computer does what you need it to do, then buy it. If not, don't. Why is the name important? There's not a lot of space nowdays between so-called pro users and a lot of other people, anyways.

Lol just read that the Samsung Galaxy Note has a 1280x800 resolution.

If the leaked specification picture is true, then jesus that is depressing.

Terrible isn't it!

Almost as terrible for me (okay I admit I am a bit of a fanboy!) when someone like Samsung/HP announces the first 'retina' display laptop when Apple had been given the opportunity on a plate to do it for this refresh and then they become known as the innovators of laptop resolution.

Might be a bit of a fanboy, but if that 13" Pro is legit, I'm not a big enough fanboy to be a fool and not take the new Asus Zenbook Prime serious, what with its x1080 screen, dGPU and ultrabook screen.

Monday is now going to be very interesting indeed.

Yeah the Asus Zenbook Prime is a definite competitor, we shall see on Monday if Apple has stepped up their game to be deserving of our cash!

By "copies the specs", you mean that they choose to put in the latest generation of Intel processors right?

Because I guess you'd expect them to put in some old Core 2 Duos just for the sake of originality...

Other than that, PC laptops typically have more RAM, and I don't think HP's choice of a Nvidia or AMD card is indicative of Apple's.

No, it's because because it has not got any specs that deserve the title "Pro".

And what would you want in the "Pro" machine? Nuclear reactor?

I've said it before. All rumors were connected to idea of 15 inch Macbook Air, and a possible Air Redesign. Making MBP thinner, could cost in overheating in simple tasks.

October...... are you kidding? With Ivy Bridge out for over a month now, and high res up for the taking there is no freaking way it will be that long.
