There is NO CHANCE they will leave the new 13" MBP at 1280x800. No chance AT ALL. That was a big mistake in 2011, and it would be simply unacceptable in 2012.

But everything looks really legit :( even 2012 is in the small text at the bottom....
Oooh man if this is true, i'm leaving them + there will be a drop in the apple stock shares

someone on the other thread has just pointed out that Ivy bridge isn't made in a 2.5ghz model, the base starts at 2.6. So this would be a fake. someone confirm?

Calm down,guys.... this is true, but i have insider info, that this particular model will be still on market, as an cheap alternative to new one. Just like MacBook White was...

source?

Not your mates uncle who goes to the gym with some guy who went to school with a woman who now cleans the house of some guy that works.. next door to apple?

(i'm only being playful btw)

That isn't be an Apple Store, that will be a 3rd party retailer.

It's laid out like an Apple store, only sells Apple products, has an Apple logo as the sign, has a "genius bar" and looks identical to every other Apple store I have been in. My housemate used to work there... it is an Apple store. It's just what happens living at the arse-end of the country, all the "new" stuff is just the old stuff passed down by the rest of the country.

My source is top secret :D But think about it.... sounds reasonable... This type will be cheap alternative.. Apple always do this.. Always.. when they release completely new machine.

ha lol well tbh i would be quite happy with a cheaper MBP, i need a nippy machine for a couple of programs but nothing super fast, but i also need storage which cuts out the MBA. I need a consumer basic pro

Holy crap it's not a real Apple store  Googling around has taught me it's a reseller, but you can understand my confusion when the inside looks like this. Bloody Stormfront! How does my City not have an Apple store when it has a 33,000+ University!? Madness.

Are you sure? That sounds very weird.. we used to have an Apple reseller that everyone thought was an Apple store but it wasn't. Where is this place?

Edit: just saw your reply, yeah we had something similar that people thought was an Apple store but it closed when Apple opened up a real one nearby

I'm surprised Apple lets them do that, lots of people will think thats official and won't be getting a very good impression

Did you click on my link? Where did you see 14%?

What I see is 100$ off 13" MBP and baseline 15" MBP, 200$ off second 15" MBP and 17" MBP, 50$ off MBA, 100$ off all iMacs except the cheapest one which is 50$ off, 20$ off Mac minis.

That's closer to about 8-9% off, depending on the model.

MacBook Pro should be £999, with edu discount it's £859. 14%

Right. Only true for UK for this specific model. It's still not a percentage discount, it just happens to be 14% for this model.

But anyway, the original point was that it was the same Educational price both online and in-store. Can you confirm that for the UK as well?

No it's 14% (give or take) for all Macs in the UK with education discount. Just worked it out. If it's not 14%, then it goes to around 12%. Of course this could be different for Canada, but what the poster said (about it being 14%) was correct.

And yes I can. I've asked in store when I came close to buying the 2011 MBP in Feb and he confirmed it was 14% with university identification. The same with the iMac as, again I was going to buy it in-store but online education store provides a 3 year warranty which is an online only thing.

That's the only difference in the education pricing in-store and online. In-store is 12 months warranty but discounted Applecare at around £25, online is 3 years repair coverage warranty.

_______

In regards to the 13" specs, if that is truly the Pro then what a bummer, 1280x800 makes me disbelieve it. UNLESS Apple have merged the 13" Air (with retina like today's Macrumors suggests) and the alleged 13" leaked pro spec is now going to become the new Macbook at a cheaper price.

It would make sense as the MBP in that form factor sells around half of their current Macs, so as discussed there is definitely a market for it.

It wouldn't make sense to wait until WWDC to launch that. That isn't even the same as Feb 2011 as that provided new technology, this one is just a spec bomb, pure and simple. I think it's real, but it is no longer the Macbook /Pro/. I think we see a Macbook (the leaked spec), Macbook Pro 15" and maybe 17" and then the Macbook Air 11", 13" line.

The new Macbook price stays at £999 while the Air stays at £1100 and becomes /the/ Apple 13" darling.

Perhaps this will be the cheap alternative that is basically the previous generation like how the iPad 2 was kept in production but at a lower price point even though they are now using the 32 nm A5 processor vs the 45 nm A5 that it used to come with. It's not exactly the same but the idea is somewhat similar

Yeah they did a similar thing in 2008 when the unibody MacBook was released, they sold a slightly updated white MacBook as well because the new ones were more expensive.

If anything I think this just confirms that Apple are indeed merging lines with the Air and Pro. The Air will be the 13" which has the 'Retina' display. However, they're keeping the old pro format because the same said format is by far their best selling Macbook and thus there is a market for it.

Jesus wept though, I hope my speculation is true. It will be a depressing WWDC if they are using it to just announce basic spec bumps.
