why Monday? wouldnt we hear the actual news on Tuesday during WWDC, or would something come out a day before?

Keynote is on Monday. The rest of the conference is on developer stuff. They always (in the past) launched the hardware for the software in the opening keynote speech.

I really don't understand all this fuss about retina displays for laptops. Seems like a waste of processing and battery power to me. It's one thing for a small screen like an iphone, but for a massive laptop screen that's totally different especially for those of us who like to run graphics intensive apps and games.

my bad, for some reason I thought everything started on tuesday. I think the little one (16month old) keeping me up at night is finally getting to me :D

But I am perfectly fine with that because she is such a little cutie

i am only going to be dissapointed if apple keep the 13" mbp at 1280x800 such a low resolution isnt acceptable in a pro model

I expect to see some form of high resolution display, even with this new disappointing rumor.

If not, I'll always have the new Zenbook to look forward to

Why do some complain without hearing official the specifications? perhaps the leaked image is from cheaper version of the 13" or who knows fake, and keep in mind if you think that the specs of that images are real and you complain already then i am sure u will be very happy on monday.

C'mon now guys, don't you remember back to February 2011? Wasn't there also some "leaked" photos of boxes, and they got some stuff right, i.e. Thunderbolt, but other stuff was off?

I can't remember for sure.

Yep, this is fake, an almost exact copy of this image came out last year as a supposed "leak." History just repeats itself...

Article of the 2011 "Spec Leak":

It's safe to assume with the current spec sheet leak that it spells the end for the 13" MBP.

It will be stripped of its "Pro" moniker then left to sell as a "basic" macbook for everyday computing.

RIP MBP 13"...you had a good run, even if you never deserved the "Pro" title in the first place.

I can believe that - I owned the 13" unibody "macbook non-pro" that Apple sold a few years back before they decided that they wanted to start calling it a "macbookpro" (see my signature).

So this is what might happen:
  • The MBA's all get retina displays and Ivy Bridge
  • 15" Macbook Pro gets slimmer, loses the optical drive, gets a retina display, get Ivy Bridge.
  • The 17" might go away, or might get the same treatment as the 15".
  • The 13" is the same but reverts to the "MacBook" name the way it was before, gets Ivy Bridge, and maybe a $200-$300 price cut. This becomes the bargain-basement alternative to the 13" MBA, which will be a couple of hundred more expensive.

or gt 640m/650m

Most possible are the Radeon HD 7750M/7770M for slower version of MBP, and 7770M/7850M for faster version. Apple always take the best Price/performance/power consumption ratio graphic cards in their laptops. And Radeons are faster than NVidia cards with less power consumption. Don't know anything about pricing ;).
