I didn't calibrate it with anything other than my eyes, so it won't be *accurate* persay, but I think it looks more accurate. I do think I overdid it with the contrast though :/ Oh well.

Thanks. :) Compared to my 2012 MBA the screen of the new 2013 model looks a lot more warmer (both have the Samsung panel). I'll give it a try. Maybe I really have to buy one of those color meters.

don't waste it on a TN panel though!

i got LTH116AT01A04 (wtf 3 years old monitor? ) on the new 2013 macbook air 11"

there is no washout no yellow tint but kinda red tint ( too warm? most noticeable on gary area such as the top bar ) and darker in compare....

i original got the LG one

i went to apple store for replacement they open another macbook have me pick one of them and bring home. along side with the samsung one (which i took it home) the LG one which has a little bit washout and little bit yellow tint but the color on the LG actually better and brightness are noticeable brighter over all look more natural.....overall everything is better then the samsung screen... expect the yellow tint which i don't believe it will be gone overtime.

The samsung screen look red tint compare to LG (maybe because the brightness aren't good as the LG one) but there is no washout.... its hard to pick between the two when they are right in front of you. : now that i bought the samsung home becoz i don't like seeing yellow tint but then I'm not happy with the brightness level now i have to use like 4 block more than i am on a LG which suck out my battery faster.

anyway these are my experience to share. from hong kong

I went to a store and checked out their 11" MacBook Air 2013 and it had a weird serial. Anyone know which manufacturer LTH is from?

"LTH116AT01A04"

So you took the trouble to drive over there and write down the serial but didn't think to google it? :p;)

that's one of the Samsungs.
The Samsung models are LTH133BT01A03 and LTH116AT01A04.

AUO?????

That looks like the AU Optronics model. I didn't realize they were still making screens for the 2013 models.

They were used for the 2012 models but I read a story somewhere which said that AU was having difficulty in keeping up quality to Apple's spec's and may not be used further.

I had one of their screens in an older Air, that I have since sold, and the quality was ok with my eyes.

i5/8GB/128GB customized with Swedish keyboard bought at Apples online store got me a Samsung display

Got Samsung display, was highly excited at first... and while contrast and brightness are amazing, There's a noticeable yellowish tint to it. A bit warmer than I'd like.

Am I the only one?

Bought a i5/8GB/256GB from a local authorised mac reseller.
Got the LG screen which I'm happy with after using the colour profile from Macrumors.
It looked a bit strange at first so took some time and searching till I realized that the profile was wrong and not the screen.
Got a bit worried as it was my first macbook.

Have not seen the Samsung to compare next to each other so can't really say if it is better or not but I'm happy with this one after the colour profile and compared to my 2 year old ASUS NB this screen is so much better in showing more correct colour.

I'm sure it is a personal taste but I have always enjoyed 'cool' over 'warm'.

Anybody have a good profile that I can use on a samsung screen? just need a little touch up of blue

use attached one, think it makes everything more sharper on samsung screen

You're one cool motherf'er mbafan! Thank you so much. This is EXACTLY the type of color setting I like. Crisp, clear, and COOL!

:D:D:D:D:D

Edit: :( After browsing around heavy pages, I noticed that it was really hard to see details in darker images and backgrounds at medium brightness. Sooo awesome in all other ares though. Just a bit more contrast in the calibration and +10% brightness would be perfection. Now only If I wasnt a Mac noob. grrr

Thanks either way bro. I'm using it right now. I'd take no details in dark images over yellow all over anyday!

I also tried the profile. Ist looks very good except for the contrast setting. Apparently there is too much contrast and the shadows don`t show details anymore.

@mbafan: Are you able to reduce the contrast in the profile?

i did that calibration only for full backlight, so it could be a bit dark in mid backlight, nevertheless, i will try to make some adjustments later

here ya go, fixed black levels
