Yes but sadly the result was still the same. I was really hoping for a Webber win today, but his three stops made that impossible. Even when finger boy has a bump, it's the other guy (Hamilton) who comes off worse.
Lots of good scraps throughout the field though.

Yes, same result :( It did seem to me like RBR were using Webber to push Grosjean and make him wear his tires out too quickly. This allowed Vettel to have fresher tires later in the race.

The radio communication from Vettel as Webber started to close on him was interesting. I thought he said something along the lines of: get them to move these slower cars out of the way. Then, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I heard Vettel say in a whiny voice: "It's not fair." Pretty embarrassing.

It's obvious that RBR are going to do anything to maximize Vettel's points as he closes in on the WDC. That's logical. We'll see if he's that spoiled and wants all the toys in the playpen after he clinches. At that point RBR should just let Webber and Vettel race as equals.

You heard exactly right. It was a Danica-esque moment and revealed much about the boy.

Yes, I'm surprised Mark came in to change tires, but then again if he had stayed out it might not have made a difference as with fresher tires Seb might have been able to run him down, anyway.

In a surprising move, the BBC are reporting that Russian Daniil Kyvat will drive for Torro Rosso next year. I have to admit I'm struggling to see how the Torro Rosso plan works. They seem to randomly dump drivers (Buemi, Alguesuari), appeared to have skipped the next in line Da Costa who even did the young drivers test, and have promoted only 2 drivers to Red Bull since taking over Minardi. They also seem to have missed out on the best of the young drivers this year (Kevin Magnusson who Mclaren are trying to get a seat for).

This is a surprise. Teenage Russian drivers must be 'in' at the moment

You'd think Torro Rosso would want a more established junior star in the seat just in case they need to replace Ricciardo if he doesn't work out next year.

maybe he is getting a ton of russian mobster money to back him up?

Yeah, it sounds like he has strong sponsorship backing (more than Massa, I guess, who was rumored for the spot). Then again, maybe this means he's going to Lotus since Hulkenberg seems to expect to get paid, rather than pay, to drive.

Isn't that JEV?

Massa doesn't deserve to stay in F1. In a car clearly capable of getting on podiums he hasn't consistently done this for the past 3 years. Of Ferrari had been able to get Button or Webber as rumoured Massa would have been out years ago. Hulkenburg deserves the Renault drive, and even Di Resta would be ahead of Massa IMHO.

Yes, JEV would be the one to step up to RBR. Kind of forgot about him

I don't think there was that much difference between JEV and Ricciardo. Both are good young drivers.

I think Hulk will get the Lotus drive (and clearly deserves it) and Massa will go to Williams, if he is able to stay in F1. Massa just hasn't been the same since he was first asked to let Alonso by. No one, other than Hamilton, ever benefitted from being Alonso's teammate. Same with Michael Schumacher's teammates. If Massa had some support and a teammate that didn't suck all the support away he might still command a competitive F1 drive. But it seems too many years have passed...

The latest from thejudge13.com:

With Lotus wanting Hulkenberg, it appears that Massa is going to Williams, as Maldonado has apparently lost his sponsorship from PDVSA which ends any reason to keep him with the team.

Vitaly Petrov may be taking the seat at Sauber originally assigned to Sergey Sirotkin as Sirotkin is said to be millions behind on his payments and Petrov has solid sponsorship in hand. In such a scenario, Sirotkin would become the team's backup/test driver.

And the Indian Supreme Court on Friday will hear a petition to cancel the Indian Grand Prix this weekend on account of race organisers Jaypee Sports having failed to pay the tax due from last year's race. The Court is not expected to cancel the race.

It's too bad Sauber needs a pay driver. Look how well Hulk is doing there.

Massa to Williams is likely. First it was Barrichello, then Bruno Senna, and now Massa. It's like Williams has become the last stop in F1 for Brazilian drivers :(

I think tomorrow's race is such a foregone conclusion. The commentators are trying to make a big thing that the soft tyres will go off very quick, but to be honest if Vettel started at the back he would still win.

So true. The only other drivers in the top eight that are starting on medium tires (tyres ;)) are Alonso way down in eighth and Webber. Vettel will be so far in front of Alonso by the first pit stop that he might come out of the pits in front of him. And if Webber is a factor the team will sabotage his race. Vettel is going to win tomorrow easily.

Not that it would have affected the result, but do they get second hand parts for Marks car? Some good close racing down the field though. Can't believe how long those Lotus's got out of their tyres.

Great drive by Grosjean. Oh yeah and well done to Seb/ RBR for their world championships. ;) Someone mentioned on the BBC Red Button that Webber could leave to do some testing - would be interesting to see Ricciardo compete against Seb in this machinery.

I really wonder about Webber's car. I know Seb had the same issue in Monza in 2011. I hope RBR give Mark an equal chance to win one of the next three remaining races now that Vettel has clinched.

For some reason I felt that all the concern over the health of Seb's car was manufactured theater. I really wonder if there was anything remotely going wrong with Vettel's car. Webber doesn't help himself by not qualifying high enough and getting bad starts but he's had the vast majority of the team's mechanical failures.

Sadly they will be focused on helping Seb get the record number of wins in a season. The fact that they have more races every year these days somewhat make it an easier target though. If there was a scenario where he was leading and Webber was second, and he let him through he Seb would win over a lot of fans. Not going to happen though.

I hope not. These are empty wins that come at the end of a season where every other team has stopped developing their cars due to huge rule changes for next year.

At least when Michael Schumacher won 13 races, twelve of those were in the first thirteen races.

What an abysmal season this has deteriorated into

True. I hope next year is a more level playing field. Alonso vs Kimi will be fun to watch. It bet it will make Mark & Seb seem like best mates!

Ross Brawn to leave Mercedes at the end of the season.

Toto Wolff, Paddy Lowe and Niki Lauda to run the Mercedes F1 team next season.

I wonder if he'll move to one of the other F1 teams?

I've been expecting that. I have a feeling he will either retire or more to a less travelled formula. With all the extra races it's getting very difficult for people who want a life outside of F1. Plus let's face it he doesn't need the money!
