Bothers me to no end that he will get a 1-year suspension for smoking weed and basically being a dumbass...while Ray Rice knocked his fiancee unconscious in an elevator and will serve a much lighter punishment (if any). The Ravens even tweeted about her making an apology.

Sends a great message to the female fans of the NFL.

That tweet was, at best, completely offensive. But they'll wear pink one week and that will make everyone feel better. :rolleyes:

But I totally agree. They're sending a message to everyone that drugs will not be tolerated, but violence against women is OK.

Incredibly offensive! I am rarely shocked by things that happen in sports, but that was an occasion where I was genuinely floored.

And this may be a separate discussion - but it was weed for god's sake. The most harmless of all drugs. In fact, Nate Jackson's made some insightful comments in a few places, including his book, about marijuana use as a way to cope with the pain inflicted during an NFL season/career.

Either way, it's bogus and I'm still angry about it.

That's what I meant - Brady is a lady is the insult. Sorry, I generally have a good sense of humor about most things, but I'm having a hard time finding those kinds of jokes funny in light of this recent NFL anti-woman BS happening everywhere.

That is the irony, they are fine with hits against anything but the QB. The NFL has their rules backwards. Pot bad, murder good. Hitting women fine. Touch Brady BAD. Suspension!

The NFL really have become hypocrites. They don't want to admit to being a violent sport. They still want the concussion issue to go away. Ray Lewis murdering people was fine, but smoke some pot and you get a suspension.

I knew the Brady lady comment was going to push your buttons. :D

It's okay, I admit to being a bit cranky about this topic as of late. Apologies, it's not really directed at you. And there's a million things to make fun of Brady about - show me that creativity. :)

Speaking of the AFC East - how's Geno doin'?
 
Saw a guy the other day wearing an orange hat with big blue letters that read, from right to left, "Broncos". I went up to him and said "what the hell?". He replied, "Think 'ecnalumbA'."
 
It hasn't been officially announced yet, but it looks like Ray Rice will be suspended 2 games for the altercation* with his fiance.

I wouldn't be surprised if his wife is apologizing to the entire Ravens organization as we speak.

Just another day in the NFL where smoking dope is a capital offense, but knocking your girlfriend out is a misdemeanor.

Disgusting.



*And by altercation I mean the time he knocked her out and dragged her out of an elevator.

That is absolutely absurd... 2 Games! I mean there is video footage of him dragging her knocked out caveman style. I guess because they reconciled and got married, but that's really not an excuse.
