I heard on the radio today that Brady has publicly said he is going to give the truck that came with winning the MVP award to Malcolm Butler. I think that's pretty cool. :)

Seriously though, that was a hell of a game. Down to the wire like a championship should be (not like the princess ******** his pants last year) and it was clearly the two best teams. When Kearse made that ridiculous catch everyone in the room I was watching the game was like "no ****ing way, not again".. but alas, the Patriots defense was able to make a play and close it out this time (thank you Malcolm Butler.) Enjoy the offseason everyone ;):p:D

A great game and congrats to you.
The Pats played to the last second and the Pats D stepped up big time and Butler, he deserves that truck. ;)

As for Brady as GOAT, yes for sure he's the GOAT in postseason but he still has a few TDs and yards to catch Favre and Manning to convince everybody outside of Patriots land that he's also the GOAT for regular season.

But given enough time, barring injury, Brady can do it. It's hard to get those lofty Favre and Manning career numbers, just like it's hard to garner 3,000 hits in the majors or 30,000 points in the NBA, but if anyone can do it right now, it's Brady.

1. Brett Favre 71,838 1991-2010 4TM
2. Peyton Manning (38) 69,691 1998-2014 2TM

3. Dan Marino+ 61,361 1983-1999 mia
4. Drew Brees (36) 56,033 2001-2014 2TM
5. Tom Brady (37) 53,258 2000-2014 nwe
6. John Elway+ 51,475 1983-1998 den
7. Warren Moon+ 49,325 1984-2000 4TM
8. Fran Tarkenton+ 47,003 1961-1978 2TM
9. Vinny Testaverde 46,233 1987-2007 7TM
10. Drew Bledsoe 44,611 1993-2006 3TM

If Brady can retire with 4 Super Bowls (done, and tied with fellow QBs Montana and Bradshaw, but with two more AFC Championships to add to those four), and throw more yards and TDs than Favre and Manning, then he's basically all alone in his career numbers and titles like Michael Jordan in basketball (32,292 points and 6 titles which include two three-peats) or Derek Jeter in baseball (3,465 hits and 5 World Series titles). If not now, he can soon become literally synonymous with the word "football". If Brady=Football is not quite yet synonymous, it's because he has a few more yards to catch up with Peyton Manning. The way Manning looks, he may be in his last year and if Brady lasts three years then he can catch Manning. The only X-factor here in the all time yards battle would be Drew Brees. I would say the only other name in recent years which is so tied in with the sport would be Tigers Woods (in heyday) with the game of golf.

...and while not officially named, I'm pretty sure Brady is a spokesperson for Audi. That's all he drives and I believe a few years ago, he bought the offensive line all Audi Q7's. Not sure he wants to be seen in that truck. :D

Why do you say he's an idiot? As a player or TV personality?

btw, Jim Plunkett and Joe Montana have always been players I've enjoyed watching. It had a hard time (Plunkett) here with the Patriots but hit his stride with the Raiders.

I will give props to pretty boy for giving the truck to Butler. To be honest I would not want that truck, it looks fugly. Butler better check the air in the tires tho. :D

That is very generous of Brady.

"check the air...", well played sir! very funny. :D

It is quite a gracious and humble gesture for Brady to do so. I think it's less about the actual truck and more about giving a nod to the fact that Butler should share in the MVP credit for the incredible play he made. It comes across as a great example of teamwork.

I know people hate on Brady a lot, but he comes across to me as a likeable guy who represents sportsmanship well. With the exception of the recent ridiculousness involving air pressue, he's avoided off the field controversy throughout his career. To me, that's refreshing.

I wish I could take credit for that joke but I heard Seth Myers say it.

Oh man I thought we had a professional comedian right here on Macrumors.

But as funny as that is to America, I really don't believe anybody tampered with balls and it was the fact that Brady likes it at lower limit of 12.5 lbs and Luck prefers 13.5 lbs. so when going from a 70 degree locker room to a 50 degree playing field, there's some lessening of air. How is that so impossible to believe?

Somebody posted a good vid sometime back here that makes sense. Heck the air in my tires gets deflated all the time but in my case I need new tires but I could also use new car. Man I should have made that interception! :)

Well the parade came and went in Boston, it helped cause a commuting nightmare for folks. The mass transit system already under duress and suffering from severe delays had to cope with thousands of people that it doesn't normally have to deal with.

Looks like by all accounts, most of the Patriots who went, had a really good time and lots of people showed up.

Now on to the hotstove discussions, such as free agency. Will the Patriots try to keep Revis (I hope they do, though I don't know if they have the cap room to eat his option for next year). If we keep him, that means he'll not go to the Jets or Buffalo, both teams really want him, so we'd be stronger and they'd be weaker.

The Jets have so much cap room, they could pay him just about any amount and still have room to pick up other players.

Congrats, again!

Didn't you guys figure out how to route a parade yet since only two years ago you had one for the Red Sox and two years before that for the Bruins? ;)

We got the parade thing down pat by the time 2012's SF Giants won their second title after 2010 and by the third parade in 2014 many fans simply didn't show up and barricades were not as thick as first time. We had two years each time to get ready to plan the parade but if things work out well this year, the route, which includes some hard sidewalks that were put in, only to be taken out a few months later to let regular traffic flow, could just be left in for next parade we are all hoping in 2015!

Over here in SF we have a special affinity for Boston. First you gave us pitcher Jake Peavy to the SF Giants (where he helped us reach and succeed in MLB postseason) and we returned the favor by giving you Kung Fu Panda (Pablo Sandoval). With Ortiz, LAD Hanley Ramirez, and Sandoval all hitting in a row, be prepared to keep the barricades up since you may have to celebrate a World Series win. We may even see each other in the big series and have Jake Peavy pitching to Pablo Sandoval in the 7th game and how weird is that?

I can't imagine going back to the rival I previously left.

She is a die hard fan, we have a constant ribbing going on. I will congratulate her as a fan, I could care less about the team. That doesn't mean I won't take away the celebration real fans are having. Do I think the Patriots are a bunch of liars and cheats, you bet.:p But Seattle blew it fair and square.

:D That's the nicest thing you've said! I will ignore the last part and right back at ya.

Just felt that can't be said enough.

x infinity.

I was surprised at how fuggo that truck is.

Doesn't hurt that Brady could buy a fleet of Maseratis and Butler is on the low end of the financial totem pole. Good stuff by Brady, though. I'm excited about Butler's potential going forward. He's a ball hawk.

He's a genuinely good guy, he does a lot of great charity work in Massachusetts, he cares about his teammates and the community, etc. He's no saint, but he's the kind of QB you want. The most telling thing is his teammates would walk through walls for him.

I think people hate him for a couple of understandable reasons. He's a really fiery, intense competitor. He yells, he talks smack, he gets really into it. He has no compunction yelling for a flag when he thinks one was missed. When he's your guy, it's fantastic. Did you see his pre-game speech before the Super Bowl? Chills. Or the way he goes insane on the sidelines? I love it, but I'm sure I'd get annoyed by it if he played for the Ravens (Jeter's fist pump still makes me want to break things). But then, you know, Michael Bennett flattens him and he gives the guy props for it, like Andrew Luck gets so much accolades for.

He's handsome, he's eloquent and he chooses his words carefully with the media. He praises his opponents and deflects praise in a way that probably makes Belichick shiver with glee and his rivals roll their eyes. He sells Uggs and Stetson cologne, he's married to a supermodel - and she actually makes way more money than he does. He's polished, he dresses like he's going to a Burberry photo shoot every day of his life, but he still gets to claim his 6th round cred. I mean, is a guy like that going to be adored by opponents' fans? Hell no. It's too perfect and annoying.

Winning is a part of it, for sure, but it's part and parcel with the whole package. When Brady and the Patriots won in 2001, it was a cute story. Handsome, plucky, 6th round underdog QB and a dogged franchise FINALLY win one over the Goliath St. Louis Rams. Now it's an embarrassment of riches and no one likes to root for that. I get it, I really do. If I were a fan of another team (and I was a Red Sox fan pre-2004), I'd be praying for the demise of the Patriots. I'm just lucky and I'm going to enjoy the heck out of it while it lasts. Thankfully I have the Celtics to remind me that barren times are a reality. :)

Yes! I'm ready for some offseason chatter. I hope they work out a new deal for Revis. He was obviously the key to our resurgent defense this year. I think Revis and McCourty are the top priorities. Would also love to see Vereen back.

I think we go OL/DL in the draft. Very interested to see what our AFC East compatriots do. Buffalo doesn't pick all that high this year, and will the Jets go QB?

Is RG3 going to be staying in Washington?
