I know you loving every damn second. I try not to pay no attention to the mags and reviews about it cause I figure they're just giving Ford crap about the SRA

But is it as harsh as they say on the street bump wise, American roads are crap anyway

And I'll wave hello driving by while you fill up your methusalem for 4-6$ a gallon.

If you the think its gonna be $0.50 a watt bout time that happen your living a pipe dream

That being said and trolling aside. I visited the website, The tesla S and the tesla X are really nice... That's innovation rite there!

But to make the jump to all electric... Me personally I'm gonna wait till I dive into that

My dad worked at a Chevy dealer for a long time, and he said the absolute worst customers he had to deal with the guys who came in to buy Corvettes. He said they were without exception a bunch of middle-aged, pompous loudmouths who thought they were doing him a favor. This really sucked for my dad, since he earned a straight commission per car sold and it was exactly the same if he sold a Corvette or a Caviler.

Thats a shame, a lot of the Vette owners I've met through my years in cars have for the most part been really nice. A lot of them don't know much about their cars, like discussing A/F ratios with them and they stare blankly back at you :D but sounds like your dad met some real jerks.

There are all sorts of stereotypes about people who drive certain cars. All of them are true.

The more a car makes a statement, the stronger the stereotypes are. If you don't like the remarks, simply drive a dull, practical car and nobody will say anything or even think anything good or bad about you. This works for most people.

Not true at all. I have plenty of friends who own high end exotic cars and I myself have always had nicer cars and will be upgrading to something Italian in the summer. I have always chatted with people at gas stations who ask questions or wanted to take pics. Sometimes I've even given rides. The only question I won't answer is when someone asks how much it costs.

I think part of it can be sometimes you can catch someone who is in a hurry to do something and might blow you off. That is just gonna stick in people's minds more than good interactions.

You can't discount a generalization with anecdotal evidence. In general I think the poster is right to an extent. I imagine that cars are marketed heavily to certain groups of drivers.

All generalizations are false....

Stereotypes exist for a reason, but that doesn't mean they're still accurate. I agree with JoshMKB24 in that at most car events I've gone to (track events specifically), the folks there are usually pretty open, approachable, interested in chatting, etc. You'll get the occasionally the stuck-up snob, but they're actually the exception rather than the rule.

I mean I'm sure there are ****** owners in every higher end car category, and ****** owners of Honda Civics, but no one tries to talk to them about their cars. The fact too that there are so many Corvettes out there, means you are more likely to run into an ******.

I will say track events are completely different. Everyone at a track event is a car enthusiast who is usually eager to share their passion and enthusiasm with other car enthusiasts. Also at track events, its reasonable to assume you aren't going to get the standard "dumb" questions you do at a gas station like "how fast does it do 0-60?" or "whats the fastest you've gone?"

What about the generalization that women drive safer than men? Insurance rates across all insurance companies on average show this to be true.

You sorta missed the gag, didn't you?

That's a fair statement and usually true, but not 100% of the time (remember, all generalizations are false.. ;)) I've seen similar types of responses at places like a "Cars and Coffee" meet, where the performance enthusiasm of each owner isn't quite the same, but they still love cars. Again: folks are usually very friendly and interested in chatting.

I don't think most of the sports car stereotypes are true anymore. They're far more attainable by a larger percentage of the populace, and it means you get all sorts of personalities into the mix.

Hm. The Audi is highly over-priced and under performs badly against most of the current Corvette line-up.

Are you sure you want that? ...

A Lenovo (or Corvette) is cheaper and theoretically faster then a Macbook. The Mac (or R8) is real life faster and yields a much more premium experience (more quality engineering, parts, handling, more luxurious). I'll take the R8 any day.

Saw it at the Houston Auto Show yesterday...unfortunately the Stingray didn't make an appearance

Except the Corvette has proven to be faster in real life than the R8......

This is why Mac vs PC analogies never work with cars and vice versa. ;)

Depends who you ask. Generally speaking, professional drivers can navigate a track much faster in a ZR1 than in an R8, but most of us are not professional drivers and we don't typically drive in straight lines. For what amounts to the same speeds, the R8 is a much better handler than any corvette on the market. That's what I mean by "Real World Fast".

But R8's are ugly unlike Mac's and sound terrible (like Mac's)

Corvettes are ugly unlike Lenovo's and sound dead sexy (like Lenovo's)
