W00t ! Hawks made it into the play-offs.

Usually something like that would wreck my Christmas but the Raiders won a classic and the Warriors beat the Cavs with a less than healthy Curry who showed big under the circumstances, so I am in a good mood for now.

If the Seahawks go all the way and cement a dynasty (which to me is 3 or 4 Super Bowl wins in a decade, or 3 straight trips to a Super Bowl which includes at least 2 wins), then I will be quite unhappy. I think, or hope, that it's possible that last year's NFC crown and the previous year's NFL Super Bowl win were just a high point for Seattle and not a longer term trend suggesting a real NFL dynasty. Only time will tell and if Seattle goes one and out then I will feel confident that they will spend the next few years in the middle and not on top like they have been for some time, numbers wise. Without hating Seattle, I don't know what gets Niners fans up these days, and Raiders fans in the Seattle AFC days, so every town needs somebody (who is good and a threat each year) to root against or else it's not nearly as fun.

Commence ESPN and other national media showing their hypocrisy in the wake of the Manning HGH story. These clowns will fall all over themselves to defend him, and we'll hear about how "everyone does it" and "he should get the benefit of the doubt". Doubt we'll see ol' Trembly-Chin Brunell get all weepy over Manning's denial of wrongdoing.

But hey, none of the owners are angry at the Colts for the year they pumped in crowd noise and jacked up the heat in the RCA Dome in the AFCCG en route to a Super Bowl win (gift-wrapped by Rex Grossman), so Goodell won't put his shills at ESPN the the NFL Network on smear-job duty.

So what are the odds that Kelly leaves the Eagles (quits or fired)?

Two years in a row that they missed the playoffs, and this year he literally blew up the team and made it much much worse by getting pro-bowl players. He did get Murray from the cowboys but for some wacky reason he's not even playing him.

Manning HGH? I hope it's not true.

It probably is, but I only say that because I assume most if not all NFL players are using something. Given the average time span of an NFL career, the injuries these guys have to deal with, and the fact that HGH doesn't seem to have the adverse affects what steroids do, I don't see it as a big deal. Personally, it doesn't change my opinion about Manning as a player one bit. I just know this story is going to be covered very differently by the national media in comparison to deflategate.

HGH you taste so good!! Haha, Mannings a cheater.

Honestly, I couldn't care less and I have no problem with athletes using every option available to recover from injury.

I do think it's hilarious though as this story has already illustrated the hackery and bias of most sports reporters. They all rush to defend their princess and claim innocent until proven guilty, but they wanted to convict Brady without any evidence of any wrongdoing whatsoever.

I'm sure ESPN will do whatever they can to sweep this under the rug as fast as possible just like they did the time Peyton assaulted a female athletic trainer in college.

looks like the pharmacist who accused Manning has since recanted his story and stated he lied. i heard that on the fox pregame show

Hopefully Ted Wells can check to see if he has any new wire transfers or new foreign bank accounts.

Peyton probably sent him some hush money just like he did to the trainer he assaulted at UT.

So, another 5+ million dollar investigation right, because "integrity of the game"??

As sad as that is, that was my first thought. Time will tell as this will shake itself out over the next few days and weeks

Agreed. I'm just enjoying this as it puts the double standards the NFL community has against the Pats on full display.

It would be more sad if Peyton or one of the other athletes named did throw hush money at the guy than just admit what he did. HGH to recover from injury isn't a big deal and I honestly think It should be legal for players' doctors to prescribe it for recovering from serious injury.

It's not like it helped Peyton any, one ring and probably not going to play another game in his career.

Unless of course the Jets sign him next season.

Given the timing, it sounds like he would have taken it to recover from the neck surgery.
That's my point, if he did use, it really didn't have any affect on the season. He didn't gain a competitive edge to win 4 rings. So the Patriots are still the head cheaters.

That's what I was thinking. I see nothing wrong with that if it helps recover from the neck injury.

Now using it just to buff up during the playing season is a different matter.

Huh. Pretty different from the "cheating is cheating, even if it didn't help much" argument I hear so often re New England. So I guess there are different levels of cheating. Cool.
