i also agree they all appear pretty much the same at least at a first look.
i doubt i could tell them apart if they were in the same livery.

but they also look gorgeous.
and fast.

They do look gorgeous. It's been over twenty years of raised noses. I've always thought they were hideous looking. Personal preference I guess but I always thought these cars were more attractive with their more traditional (old ;) ) noses:

So Vettel had a good day in practise today.

Good for Ferrari fans, but i've been a bit disappointed with Mclaren Honda. They have not had much running time at all yet. Early days yet though.

i hope i'm wrong but i wouldn't get my hopes too high for honda...

Didn't RBR have a disappointing pre season last year, then pull it back quite a bit by the first race? I know they weren't the best car last year, but they did secure podiums. Here's hoping anyway.

In fact RBR was the second best car last year, beating all Mercedes powered teams except The works team that dominated everyone. RBR was the only team to win races apart from the works Mercedes team. Not bad for a lower HP car.

Clearly a top chassis, as is the main Mercedes car.

You'd expect the teams down on pace, aka all of them bar one, have more likelihood of finding pace, over a car that already had it nailed.

Hoping Honda is there, it should be. Last year it was a complete unknown. This year Honda has data, expectations on HP and torque to aim for, and new knowledge how packaging issues were found and solved.

Mercedes well deserved their constructors title, they earned it. The drivers title was a farce, a 2 car championship.

They had Jenson out driving it Monday in the wet. Perfect for him. :)

Williams didn't get wins but I thought they still did pretty good.

Toto Wolff admitted he does not believes that the apparent harmony between Mercedes’ drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg isn’t going to last during the 2015 Formula 1 season.

I think I agree with him. If it's all going one way, the other guy is going to be mad. If it's even stevens, they'll be fighting for every pole and point.
Hopefully some of the other teams can keep up with them to make it more interesting.

It wont and it already hasn't, we just don't see it in what is reported. It will be like last year, Hamilton will get favouritism, and Rosberg will react.

So I'm not the only one who noticed!

Two, and counting!!

Schumacher did too, Vettel, and no doubt in most teams the favour who they consider the better driver or the better marketing addition.

...well there was never any question about Schumacher. Good driver, but overrated I think. Of the same era I think Häkkinen was better. Speaking of favoritism, remember Barrichello slowing down on the home straight?*

* the more I read about Scuderia Ferrari the less I like them. I like Kimi's style, I don't like his team. Same with Rosberg.

Thinking that when I typed my post, Indianapolis?

On websites that have "alternative" options for downloading......... search for Teds Notebook or Formula 1, there are 4 short videos re the test days at Jerez.

Not much to see or hear, but the last one goes into real detail on the aero changes the teams have made, pretty darn interesting.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check them out. What we really would like to know is who was running what fuel etc. to see the times in context. I guess we'll know in a few weeks time anyway. Can't wait.

Qatar possibly being added

I'm actually in Doha right now, I had been talking to people here about "Qatar would be a good fit for F1 in general" and today the news looks like it may be happening, potentially very quickly (next summer).

I've been guessing that this would supplant Bahrain, but perhaps not.

thejudge13 commented that perhaps Qatar will pay Bahrain to give up their race in exchange for one held in Doha as the Bahrain GP has evidently proven to be not very successful as a tourism generator.

Thats a tricky one. The Middle East is a large and distinct part of the globe, but many don't want F1, ala the protests, but they also love the prestige. Tricky, and more so, if F1 flips between these countries.
