I have a feeling I'll be missing tomorrow's race. A mixture of wanting to catch up on sleep and getting around to do some work around the house I've been putting off for about 2 months. Not completely related to F1, but I took a look at old indy car sales online. I wasn't expecting a near 30 year old indy car to sell for around 85,000!

Cracking race in Canada today.
Vettel was off the line like a rocket.
Roseberg seems to have lost his way again.
Great race at the end as the less experienced Max V kept the faster car with newer tyres behind him.
Showed great matureity.
Good to see a Williams on the podium as well.

I actually got to see it!

I recorded it. I still haven't gotten around to watching it though. I'm going to put myself through the pain of watching TG's third episode. Must find the scotch first.

Hamilton just made it through to Q3 in Baku.
He had traffic, then had to use an escape road.
Parts of the circuit look super tight. Going to be fun seeing who the pole man is. Mind you with Vettel's super secret traction control and rocket boosters at the start, will it matter?

Here we go then.
[doublepost=1466258663][/doublepost]Update. Hamilton has binned it. Two minutes left on the clock when it restarts.
Perez doing well, but has a gearbox penalty.

i didn't even know there was race!
Lol. I thought it was a bit quite on here.

As long as Nico doesn't drive off into the distance, it should be a good one. Lewis has plenty to do, which should see some overtaking.
Also pretty sure we will have a safety car or two. Those walls are pretty close!

I'm thrilled to see the beginning of this race. Should be a complete mess.
[doublepost=1466341546][/doublepost]Safety (including VSC)
1 2
[doublepost=1466342271][/doublepost]Hamilton trying to pass the Williams is a real testament to how great the Williams is on the straights.

Been pretty clean and tidy so far. Suprised they all got round lap one without a trip to the wall.

Yeah, no real safety cars. There was some plastic on the track at one point.
[doublepost=1466344092][/doublepost]Ricciardo came in way too early. I'm concerned he'll be sunk by it. Shame, too. That car looks fast.

I'd rather see a smash than someone's shopping bag blow down the street.
Agreed. I wonder if everyone was just super conservative going into the first turn and the race evened itself out.

It's clear where the power is on this track. Mercedes is clearly dominant and yet Ferrari is more than a formidable opponent.
[doublepost=1466345006][/doublepost]STR is out. Rough weekend. Two suspension failures

It was interesting to see Lewis' after the race interview, he seemed calm no sunglasses on to hide some of what he's feeling, I get the impression he is really content with his 3 WDC and is going through the motions.

Sergio Perez I was happy for the fella glad to see his public sacking turning out to be a gift for him, hopefully Force India can keep up with development.

Yes Perez drove well. I think Hamilton still knows there's enough time to pull it back. After all there are still more races left this year than there used to be in a complete season when I started watching F1.

He just needs a bit or reliability (although he wouldn't have won regardless today).
Or better still Nico to have a few issues. I'm sure there will be a few more twists and turns this year.

I do not think I have ever known a senior team member more openly and undisguisedly favour a driver than I have with Niki Lauda. His comments today about both Mercedes drivers having a configuration issue and Rosberg being able to figure it out quicker than his team mate made it sound like they were in some weird The Krypton Factor challenge than a Formula 1 race.

I thought that as well initially and maybe he's matured since WDC3 but when I think of how Lewis used to react he just seems like a man content, usually we would get some form of outburst from him but nothing it's almost like a different driver. I guess this is a case of damned if you; damed if you don't lol

Lauda totally embarrassed himself and Mercedes. If I was Toto I would be having a word in his shell like.
Must have missed that? What did he say?

Perez and Nico are my drivers of the weekend. Force India FTW
Couldn't comment on Nico. Only saw 2 minutes of him!
Agree Perez drove well. Force India really punching above their weight this weekend.
