Was this a 2nd email after the initial "Thank You for Your Order" email? I only received one email and that was immediately after i ordered it. Hope mine doesnt come late lol :(
No it's just the first email! :)

It's just a useful reference for when your order was placed since it doesn't say it anywhere else.

not sure what time you got your order in but I got my processing email at 7:31 and got 2-3 weeks for a BTO (upgraded RAM on the 2.9GHz 256GB 13" model)
Just checked, got my email at 7:33 yet still 3-4 weeks on a stock model! Oh well, been waiting for one for so long, one extra week is neither here nor there - it's just a bit strange.

The base models were 3-4 weeks from the get go. I think the 2-3 weeks for the BTO models in the European stores was a glitch (or the reverse). So either yours will arrive early, or mine late. :p

Was a glitch? I hope not

I ordered a BTO in the European store:
  • 2.9GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
  • Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB VRAM
  • 1TB PCIe-based SSD
It says: Delivers 16 Nov - 23 Nov
From the get go, stock models were 3-4 weeks in Europe and BTOs were 2-3 weeks. Normally the reverse is true! Seems bizarre to have non-custom models take longer than a special order model!

My BTO was 2-3 weeks so I'm hoping it will arrive in the stated window but part of me thinks something went wrong.

Well... Ended up cancelling my initial order of the touch bar version and instead got a...

13" MacBook Pro no touch bar
2.0 intel core i5 CPU
16GB RAM
512GB SSD

+ Apple Care

Arriving 7-9 Nov

still a saving of £200 compared to the older price, I just couldn't justify paying that much for what will end up being a gimmick for me.. I'll just continue learning keyboard shortcuts for that and type my password instead :)

Ordered my first Macbook ten minutes after the keynote.

I chose the Macbook Pro 13" with the Touch Bar and Touch ID.
It's a silver model in its basic configuration (8GB RAM, 256GB and Intel i5 processor)
I payed €1759,20 with an education discount.
The delivery to France says between the 24th of November and the 1st of December. It's quite long to be honest so I hope an earlier delivery.

I'm so thrilled to discover my Macbook! (good things come to those who wait... but I ain't in a patient phase haha)

Any more info on this? I didn't buy Apple Care but I feel like I should given the bigger hole in my pocket if something were to go wrong.

You get a letter from Apple about a month after the delivery telling you that you have a custom agreement which includes 3 years hardware support. It is exactly the same as Apple care just no phone support after the first year.

You can call up Apple support to check this but it is something Apple have been doing for ages but only online edu orders.

Right now all you paid for was 3 years of phone support you will never need and it cost like £150? (Haven't checked A.C. Prices.)

This isn't the case any more. The Higher Education contract ended, and no such arrangement exists for Macs bought from Apple now.

Space Gray 15"
2.7 GHz
512 SSD
Radeon Pro 460

November 28 - Dec 5

Upgrading from a 2009 MBP 13"! Just got new contract work so needed something new and mobile

Are these still coming out of China or has that changed since 2008?

Doesn't seem odd to anyone else that nobody has any of the touch bar models?

Ordered

15" Space Grey
2.9i7, 1TB SSD, 640 Graphics + AppleCare.

Looks like it's coming around the same time as my iPhone 7 Plus finally - I expect both to ship a bit sooner though. I hope this thread is a bit more positive than else where in this miserable forum!

This died months ago dude - back when Apple reduce HE discount too, they scrapped the 3 year warranty.

Just ordered the top 15" and upgraded to the 4gb graphics. 4 weeks delivery est.

Far too expensive but managed a £400 discount by using my wife's student discount so feel a little better......just. Still, it will last me 3-4 years no bother.

Canada, I ordered a stock 13" no touch bar 2hrs after the store went live, just got my shipment notice! No tracking details yet, I'm guessing it'll take a couple of hours to get picked up in the UPS system. Apple says delivery by next Friday but I'm hoping to get it early :D

I can confirm this trackpad is big, it looks bigger in real life.
