Im not sure....maybe it was just a line of unrelated circumstances.

Just strange that i was charged Monday 12pm (HKT), then 12 hours later the gift card message was removed and has never returned.
Something triggered that change of circumstance.

Im wondering if it means that the Macbook was made and boxed up ready to go out as a big batch, and is now sitting in a warehouse, then when they finally do go out they will do a final check to ensure you haven't cancelled in the last couple of days before they dispatch it.
Maybe Apple isnt too happy to put somebody on P2S for longer than 24 hours, hence why they are doing that.

Something tells me that Apple has an internal release date (14th maybe), and are not dispatching prior to that.....hence why our orders may now be stacking up in a warehouse now prior to dispatch to get them out to us.

Think you nailed it. Anyone that was charged likely means their machine started to get built (and that only takes a few hours). It then sits on a pallet with other similar destination shipments). Their system has our orders tagged on which pallet we're on and once that goes out, it goes P2S. From there, once UPS/FedEx/DHL have the package they switch to Shipped.

While I'd love to have mine next week (as I actually have some free time on my hands for a change), I'm not "expecting" it until the following week or so based on my estimates...

If you want to see a "botched" release, check out the DJI Mavic. Paid in full for my pre-order at the end of September and haven't heard a single update on delivery estimate yet... Outside of the Airpods delay, Apple has always done a pretty solid job of launches IMO.

Restarting on it's own to install updates (except for big massive updates like a whole new OS, restarts for updates in macOS are very rare).
Just an FYI, as I discovered on my work laptop, there's a setting buried in windows 10 that will make it prompt you when it needs to restart to install an update, rather than just randomly restarting on you when you don't expect it. That was super annoying, and resulted in some lost work before I figured out what was happening!

Been waiting to get one of these as well! Tempted to order through BestBuy because they are showing delivery by end of November and Apple is showing January 2017 now. What is your estimated delivery?

Kind of off topic but.....Apple just sent me the holiday promo email (almost had a heart attack bc I thought it was a PFS email) and it didn't even include the new MBP smh

I'm getting in late to this discussion, but better late than never, I guess.

15-inch MacBook Pro - Silver
2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor
Radeon Pro 450 graphics
512GB SSD
Expected Delivery: Nov 17-25

So, basically the low-end 15" model with an SSD size bump.

I ordered on October 27 and, as with many others, my card had a temporary authorization put on it two days ago. I thought that the authorization meant that shipping was imminent, but I can tell from others posting here that my thought was misguided. Well, it comes when it comes.

It's replacing a mid 2010 15" MBP that has been sporadically kernel panicking for several months. I've limped along with it to get in on the next MBP generation; I just didn't think it would take this long.

I ordered from HeliDirect, original estimate was mid-october, then changed to 10/31, now nobody knows. I called them a week or so ago and they seemed quite frustrated with DJI, they haven't been given any reliable info to share. Could be tomorrow or December or.....

I've not yet heard of anyone getting one from a retailer except for a handful from NewEgg. DJI direct orders seem to have been fulfilled for the first few days of orders only at this point.

Do you think stores will carry any of the BTO models? I remember they did with some MacBook Airs in 2013.

IIRC, the only BTO order they carried was a fully maxed out model. They still do that I think, but do not advertise it, and you usually have to ask for it. They carry the 3 stock configs and then a completely maxed out version.

I ordered the same config, but Space Gray and 460, immediately after the keynote. Card was authorized for the full amount on Monday morning. Delivery set for Nov 15-22. Now just waiting for PFS email! Coming from a 2008 original MacBook.

I ordered on Amazon with DJI and got mine October 27th. I did not get a shipping notice on it until it arrived but arrive it did! And it is awesome! Hopefully, you get yours soon!

Windows updates and breaks a driver, manufacturer NEVER fixes it. My wife has an HP laptop that's a couple years old, newer in fact than my 2012 MacBook Pro which works just fine. The speakers don't work with Windows 10. And they have yet to release an updated driver. How INSANE is that!?

I didn't realize this is your first Mac; but yes, you're really going to appreciate how it "just works". Everything is where you expect it to be, it works as you'd expect it to work, and it doesn't surprise you. It's also not one giant billboard ad like Windows 10 is. Windows 10 to me feels like those crappy free-to-play iOS games with tons of ads. macOS still feels like a real operating system that I can actually get some work done on.

Exactly, you're cracking me up.

Vista, XP, Windows 8, windows 10.. it doesn't end and I seem to come across various compatibility issues with hardware/peripherals/software I use with each version. I have an iPhone and an original iPad 2, so I've gotten more familiar with Apple's way of handling things. Been toying with an Apple mini I borrowed to keep me working while I wait for my new MBP, and I like everything so far!

I was charged last night but my visa couldn't go through because of a limit on the card. I called to have it increased and called back Apple to finalize the payment and also asked if there was express shipping as an option for Canadians and she said there was and did it for no extra charge! I changed from delivery date Nov 25-30 to Nov 17-25!!! Just thought you should all know.

Yeah, I always set notify me before installing updates options and all my computers. Then I update somewhat infrequently when I have the time to mess with any update issues and avoid my computer getting bogged down while I'm trying to get some work done.

I was just doing a quick browse of the DJI forum and saw some people getting shipment confirmations from Apple today so hopefully you get yours shortly. I am just going to wait for Apple to get them in store at this point that way if I hate it I can just return it to a physical store.

Can you link me to that forum please? I would love to do some reading!

might not see prepared for shipment till tomorrow now

i ordered usb c to lightning cable a few mintues ago... it charged and is repairing for shipment already.

my guess is our macs are being built and they completing a bulk of them before being shipped off.

I called and they upgraded my shipping to next day. Brought my estimated delivery date to 7-13 (a week earlier). Anything earlier is much appreciated. Still almost a month off but better than a month and a week off.

Par for the course at DJI. Terrible after sales support.

I have a store delivery set for 6-Dec for my 15" MBP 2.9/2TB. I am not going to get worried until 5-Dec.

What exactly did you (and they) say. I tried this last week and was told the standard shipping was already the fastest.
