So it seems like only "BTO" orders have been charged and PFS?

My stock order is still sitting at processing and I have not been charged yet. I'm sure they probably have a stock pile of stocks sitting there waiting to be shipped. I guess I'll get charged once those go into preparing for shipment?

exactly. The shipping emails will sync with the status change to "shipped". Now there is nothing to do but just wait. My guess is they will actually ship tonight, and people will start getting them as early as Monday.

I am not surprised they did not actually ship last night to avoid Saturday delivers.

Was there ever anything to do but wait lol.

I think that is accurate. No stock items have gone to preparing... So we continue to wait...

For those who've had their Macs prepare to ship: were all of you charged well in advance of the status change?

I was charged Monday. but I believe there were others who were charged later than Monday and theirs are in PFS mode. As of now, my charge has disappeared. I'm sure it will reappear once they ship

For those of you that contacted Apple to get expedited/express shipping, do they charge you extra for that? I can't remember, but I think I read somewhere in this thread that for pre-orders like this, Apple automatically upgrades everyone to express shipping anyway so there's no reason to contact them. Is that true?

It is true and some who got charged for expedited shipping got refunded. Myself and several others were also told that there's a potential for the order to get 'screwed up' if an agent messes with shipping, and that those people will actually get it "later".

According to the person I spoke to, there is no faster shipping than pre-order shipping. It'll get here as soon as it possibly can. If an agent changes the shipping status, it may show up as an earlier ship date; but it likely to not go on those big batch orders and actually end up shipping and arriving later. In her words, "I can go into the system and change it to expedited if you want, but that'll actually make it arrive a couple weeks later, even if the website says otherwise".

I have heard the same thing from multiple Apple chat reps.

Oh great now I'm worried :(

Not likely. If you think Apple is going to ship individual orders from china to all over the US you're dead wrong. They're probably sending a huge box shipment of each possible config over to their distribution centers and sending them out of there.

Funny. I just called my local Apple Store to see if they had the touchbar models for demo. He said no, he said they've played with them, but haven't actually gotten any in the store to Demo and that there were so many pre-orders, at least for my local store, the demo models are delayed anyway and it'll be several weeks.

I told him I pre-ordered, and just wanted to check them out before they came in. He told me two things that were interesting.

1) We've evidently fallen into the "Holiday Return Policy". Meaning we can return these for a full refund all the way until January 7th. I'm not sure why any of us would, but, it's cool that that's an option. He told me "You'll probably get yours way before we get any in here to display, so just play with it and if you don't like it, bring it here and we'll refund it no questions asked".

Honestly, I'm not "worried" about my order, I just wanted to play with them! :p

2) He reiterated what the rep said. He said "Yeah people are really excited for these, they've been calling customer service asking for faster shipping they had to tell us in the stores make sure not to do that for anyone we help pre-order because it'll actually slow things down".

He also said I might get it as early as next week, but admitted he's just getting that information "online like everyone else".

Apple Store employees have told me in the past that they basically don't know anything we don't know. They huddle over watching the Keynotes just like we do (why don't Apple Stores have keynote watching parties? That'd be so fun!). They also have no idea when shipments are coming in, for security reasons. One told me they aren't even told when to expect any sort of shipments. Shipments always just 'show up', no employee knows when to expect them.

Basically, if an Apple Store employee gives you some "insider knowledge", they're blowing smoke.

Oh great now I'm worried :(

Since others have been refunded, I'm thinking Apple might be 'fixing' those that got "expedited". You probably have nothing to worry about; but I would still caution folks from calling in and asking for faster shipping. There's no good that can come of it.

Here's my PFS screenshot.

I think they got us all excited like last week when the cards started getting charged and took them a week to move to PFS.:mad::mad:

It took 2 days last year for my imac to move from shipped to delivered. (China -> Anchorage -> Memphis -> Montreal)
I don't think anybody here would mind even 2 days for delivery as long as they know it has left the warehouse and is on its way.

Also located in Montreal. Mind me asking which model you ordered and the status/delivery date?

I ordered a stock 13", base model, estimated delivery Nov 21-25 (ships 2-3 wks). Still processing and no charge/auth to my card. Ordered within minutes of keynote ending 2 weeks ago.

I'm just hoping I get mine before Thanksgiving. I ordered a 13" right after the keynote but canceled and ordered a BTO 15" the following day on the 28th. Right now I'm in the 3-4 week range with an estimate of Nov 28th - Dec 5th.

I have not been charged or gone to P4S. =/
