15-inch MacBook Pro - Silver
  • 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz
  • 16GB 2133MHz memory
  • 512GB PCIe-based SSD
  • Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB memory
Delivers: 14 Nov - 21 Nov

Personally, I think this is the better option for the same price than 2.7GHz i7 with Radeon 455. It definitely is for me at least, I don't think I've ever really pushed the CPU on my 2012 Retina very much, but the GPU does get pressured every now and then.

I'd agree with that. I'm incredibly surprised they didn't make the Radeon 460 exclusive to the high-end 15". I didn't even realize it was an option on the low-end model until I already bought the 2.7 GHz model. Oh well, only $90 I guess.

Out of interest, why did you upgrade the CPU but not the RAM? The RAM will have a much more significant effect:mad:

A little update to my situation. Cancelled and reordered under Education pricing and added AppleCare+. Still got the same ship date which works for me!

I just tried to cancel my order and was met with "we are unable to cancel your order at this time, an apple representative would be happy to assist you."

I guess ill give them a call and see if they can apply an education discount.

Ordered the $2799 standard 15 config on our business account for $2603. Delivers Nov 11-18.

I really hope they will already delivrr the TouchBar MacBooks at the end of next week. i just reread an article about the jet black iPhone that was supposed to be delivered in November, but reached early buyers at the end of september.

Any of you guys have experience with situations like this? It's not like it really matters to Apple, the launch is in the same quarter anyway.

Can't wait!!

The upgrade cost of the better dGPU was an easy choice. Really, really wanted to upgrade to the 1TB SSD, but I already feel sick at the ridiculous amount of money I just spent.

Identical order here. I'm glad I don't need a lot of storage space, because going from 512 GB to 1 TB would run an extra $400.

Also, my order says "Delivers: Nov 17 - Nov 25 by Standard Shipping".

Processing, 3 x 15" Space Gray 2.9 ghz, 1tb, 4gb radeon, delivering between Nov 17-25 in SF. Lovely $12K bill.

Could you tell me why you didn't upgrade the processor? I'm curious because I can't make up my mind.

Had to cancel and reorder after forgetting the education discount the first time, but it didn't change my delivery date (although I'm cautiously hoping for an early delivery). This will ship just before my 2x cashback with Discover expires, so between that and educational pricing the cost isn't that bad. Upgrading from a base configuration mid-2013 13" MBA, which should translate to a very nice improvement.

Yea i cant decide either. Is .2GHZ really worth it? How would it benefit us?
Is it better for games or intense photoshop work?
