Had to cancel and reorder after forgetting the education discount the first time, but it didn't change my delivery date (although I'm cautiously hoping for an early delivery). This will ship just before my 2x cashback with Discover expires, so between that and educational pricing the cost isn't that bad. Upgrading from a base configuration mid-2013 13" MBA, which should translate to a very nice improvement.

A little update to my situation. Cancelled and reordered under Education pricing and added AppleCare+. Still got the same ship date which works for me!

I did the same, but my first went to Processing rather quickly, but my Education Store order is still at Received Order. What's your order's status? Did you use Apple Pay? Use your institution's email? What time did your get the confirmation email? 12:45pm PST for me.

View attachment 668581 Upgrading from my original rMBP from 2012. Paying about $800CDN more than I payed for that one back in 2012. But considering the fall in the CDN$ since 2012 that isn't all that bad. Though it is damned expensive and the price above is with education pricing!! Maxed out everything except for the 2TB SSD which is just a bit too much to swallow and storage I don't really need.

Who knows, I might wake up and cancel this order tomorrow.

Looks like they are already moving back a week. Interesting.

Yeah, it might be my location that pushed the date further. I ordered about 1/2 hr after the keynote ended. Usually my location adds time to the estimate but they usually always beat the estimate. We shall see.

13" MacBook Pro - Space Grey
  • 2.9GHz Intel Core i5
  • 8GB RAM
  • 512GB SSD
  • Touch Bar & TouchID
Delivers: 24 Nov - 1 Dec
Price: a bit more than I expected.

Or you can use NUSEXtra if you have an NUS Card (Used to be 15% off Mac stuff now just 10% but you still get the 3 year applecare for free as well)

Fairly sure you have to pay for Applecare with NUSExtra. It is reduced by about 50%, tho. £114.39 for the 13" touchpad.

Would have ordered right after the store went back up but I was at work and didn't have my Barclaycard to get triple points on the order. Points will come close to eating the cost of a dongle.

It seems like the 15" inch owners are upgrading everything, but not opting for the 2TB SSD. Thats exactly what I did too. The price is too much for that option

2.7GHz quad‑core Intel Core i7
16GB 2133MHz memory

I wouldn't sweat it... It's probably a difference of a few seconds when exporting large files, etc.

I ordered about 2 minutes after the store went up and it's still at 2-3 weeks so hopefully I stay there.

Currently the Apple's charge has not reflected with American Express who I used to purchase. Word of advise to others and experience as a banker, it may not be a bad idea to call your financial institution and let them know that the charge may be delayed. I informed American Express about the purchase for today, but it may not post until tomorrow due to the demand and processing time (I purchased at 2:58 PM EST). Even if you informed your financial institution, they may consider it fraudulent if the charge posts tomorrow even though you have already informed them. I plan to call American Express soon. Rather be safe than sorry.

I just tried to cancel my order and was met with "we are unable to cancel your order at this time, an apple representative would be happy to assist you."

I guess ill give them a call and see if they can apply an education discount.

I talked to them on their chat feature. Really helpful and guided me through the whole process.

I ordered through my local Apple Business department over the phone, so I get a different type of confirmation email. I'm trying to figure out if I should expect mine earlier on or not based on whether or not you folks had your credit card charged, or have a pending transactions. Do all of you have something on your card right now, or has Apple not touched your credit card yet?

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I figured it was worth an ask. I'm hoping you all say "we have no pending transactions on our card yet." lol.

Oh Yeah, P.S. I ordered my 15 Inch with all the options. I figured, why not after all those dollar signs I'm spending on this thing anyway. Now to find an awesome USB-C monitor.

Same here. Says "Order Recieved". My original order went straight to processing.

Funny you ask about the email. I didnt use my .edu email. i ended up using my personal gmail and they took it. They didnt ask for another account or proof of education. Mine was done at 1:30ish PST.

That's in Canadian dollars, but Apple is actually offering a really favourable exchange for Canadians right now. It works out to about $1619 USD, so $80 below the US (edu) pricing. Still really hurts the wallet, but I need a new laptop and the Macbook Peo is still best in class, even if the value isn't nearly as good as it used to be.

Well, you get a pre authorization charge now. Full charge not until it ships. Good point about notifying them just in case.

They put a $1 dollar hold on my Amex, you don't see the same? Did you order one of the 2-3 week shipping ones? They won't charge until you hit the shipping stage.

I ordered my space grey 13" w/ 256GB SSD, i7 processor, 16GB of memory and lets not forget the touch bar haha. I don't need more than 256GB of storage since I have external drives.

Financial institutions can receive delays in authorizations as well, though the authorization will be time stamped with the date the transaction was initiated. Example, authorization will appear tomorrow but will be time stamped as of today. Financial institutions use different methods. Some use systematics, manual or a combination of each. Though untimely the system can decline it but hopefully the financial institution manually reviews it. Basically, from experience from the inside. I would use caution.

I've noticed that the Canadian pricing is quite fair. My configuration was $3015CAD from the Canadian EDU site, while the US EDU pricing is $2429USD, which works out closer to $3250CAD.
