I get it very much. But no one ever promised "first come, first served," did they? I did not say that EU = only Britain. The posters I quoted were from the UK, according to their self-identified locations.
Apple implicitly promised first come first served as people's estimated delivery dates were determined by the time the order was placed. The later you place your order, the later your estimated delivery date is. That is implicitly suggesting a system of first come first served.

Besides, in modern society unless it is explicitly stated, a system of first come first served is always implied.

On the truck for delivery! Now I have to decide if I use Migration Assistant or do it the "fun" way! Any thoughts out there?

Have other people that ordered then started Shipping. Most of us with movement ordered mere minutes after the keynote....not hours...

Yeah but the thing for some people is that others ordered several days after the keynote and those have either shipped or even gotten theirs already.

I opened this bad boy up last night! Specs are in my sig. This is my first Mac, upgrading from a Dell Studio XPS 1647.

I love the keyboard so far. Plenty of travel for me. The Touch Bar makes making little adjustments like screen brightness and volume a little less immediate, but I'm sure I'll get used to navigating the Touch Bar more efficiently. Things like FaceTime answering and emoji seem so natural on the Touch Bar, like that's where they're supposed to be.

I was simultaneously downloading WoW, Lightroom, Spotify, etc. and the thing got pretty damn hot. Right in the dead center, above the Touch Bar was almost alarmingly hot. The fans finally kicked in. Damn those things are quiet. I'm not sure if they were on max speed, but I could barely hear them. Then I put on Spotify... DAMN those speakers are loud. Like, 80% volume was physically hurting my ears. They sound great.

FaceTime camera is a bit disappointing. My GF said the iPhone 6 Plus looked better when we swapped back and forth.

Then I fired up WoW. I had to turn on Metal and then restart. The first thing I noticed was how saturated the colors were... like almost-over saturated. I changed the resolution to something just a bit over 1920x1080, since I'm used to that res anyway. I put the settings to 5/10 and tweaked a few more. I was getting about 30-40FPS just in general questing areas. I was expecting a little more. I'm used to playing on the lowest settings, so I'll take any improvement. When my new mouse comes tomorrow, I'll do a raid and see how that goes.

I did some Lightroom work this morning on the train. It was so effortless to take it out and go through some wedding photos. The 15" size is perfect for me; 13" would be too small. My photos look AMAZING. Like... the RAW photos look almost good to go as is, like I shot them with a new camera or something. I can see clearly what's in focus without zooming and it's awesome.

The size and weight comparison to the XPS 1647 is laughable. The smaller form factor and 2.5lb weight difference made me think I forgot my machine this morning because my backpack was so light.

Thanks for the great summary of your experience so far @Dydegu. I'm a photographer coming from an early 2011 15" MBP so am really excited about the jump in photo processing performance - and the quality of images I'll be able to work with on my new maxed out 2016 15" (officially arriving Dec 14th but hopefully earlier).

Enjoy your new machine! Cheers! :)

While it is never great news that it gets hot just from downloading (?) stuff, I'm really pleased to hear that the fans are quiet!

Awesome, I can't wait to check my raw files out on the new MBP screen. Does it work effortless when during adjustments in Develop?

TBH I've noticed my mid-2015 15" rMBP acts exactly the same. Whenever I download anything, the fans kick in -_-;;

No bueno. Delayed in Kentucky.

Of my three 15" models (2 BTO's, 1 Stock), only one BTO has shipped. I ordered within 30 minutes of the Keynote ending, but I think being a business customer ordering by phone screwed me a bit here.

The single one that shipped should arrive on Thursday. No movement on the others :(
