Tomorrow is the day if I trust UPS....left Edmonton AB on a truck on Wednesday or at least I assume as UPS never scans a departure scan out of Edmonton for some reason.

If UPS comes through I will have received it 6 days before my delivery window given to me by Apple on day one which was Nov 24-30th. That will make me happy....even if it slips till Monday it will still be good job Apple!!

Just got my MacBook!! Is anyone else's Touch ID spot a little crooked?

How's everybody doing? I'm just checking in. Are folks still getting stuck in Shanghai like a number of us did? Or is it clearing out a bit?

My payment got declined. I'm a little worried.

I have placement ceilings and the amount of money required for my order. So I tried a second time with the same card. Hope it will work because I didn't wait 2 weeks for that.
Is it possible that it will work the second time ? Otherwise I'll find an alternative.

(I though of contacting Apple customer service, or maybe I should contact the bank)

Just picked up a 13" Touch Bar 3.3GHz i7 / 16 / 512 from the Apple Store! Apparently this is the "ultimate" configuration they carry and they happened to have one in stock when I checked, so I grabbed it. Can't wait to test out this machine today.

This is the exact configuration I'm looking for in silver. I'm hoping another one will pop up somewhere in NYC.

I was told the opposite. The 15" 2.9Ghz/1Tb/460 model will be sold stock in Apple Stores as the "Fully Specced" option (pending stock availability).

I guess that things are changing pretty quickly, so my rep was mistaken. I ordered the same config, except with the 2.7GHz. It's not supposed to ship for at least a month, though, so I'll keep an eye on the stores.

You have 7 days to pay again. I had a weekly limit that was lower than the monthly one on my debit card. I had to call the bank. After, it was still not working on the site (I tried too many times the same card during the week end :D ) and it didn't change anything for the delivery window.

You have to call the stores and check, or just go to the stores and check. The availability for these top-spec machines won't show up on apple.com for pickup like the stock models do. Here's a tip: tell the rep that you know they often carry maxed out models in the store with faster CPU and more RAM, and ask them to see if they have any of those models in stock. Sometimes they call them ultimate models.

I hope everyone gets there MacBook soon I was able to get mines at a Apple store tonight and I'm loving sooooo much, the touch bar takes sometime too get use to but it isn't not gimmick at all.

Just curious if anyone has noticed a pattern or method to when orders go from PFS to shipped. I've been at PFS since about 2P ET yesterday and while that seems totally reasonable, my OCD-ness has been checking the order page way too often.

Ethics is my hesitation on doing this. I have no problem waiting normally (as much as it sucks to get delayed), it's just unfortunate that my current laptop is no longer reliable enough to travel with.
I thought I absolved you of any wrongdoing :) Your situation is justifiable given the lack of explanation in delaying you a couple more weeks. Again, my personal opinion that has no weight anywhere.
I agree with the ethical piece, but there is a failure on Apple's part. So I think you are clear ethically.
I agree.

Typing this on my new MacBook Pro :D

Went to see a friend at the Rockaway Mall in NJ and I started looking at a display model, then I got a text from my mom that I was just dropped off. Have it all set up and I'm really happy with it already. The Retina display is miles better than my 2011, even just opening apps is much faster on the PCIe SSD, and I actually am liking the butterfly keyboard now that I can use it at a normal posture instead of standing in front of one at the Apple Store.

Side note: Also fixing a friend's 2009 or 2010 MacBook Pro. Since none of my other OS X discs seem to want to boot, I'm currently doing a fresh install of Snow Leopard on it

Ordered a 13" i7/16/512 on the first day and delivery estimate is 11/25-12/6. It's still processing...

Decided to look online to see if my configuration was available at the Apple Store today in Pittsburgh. It wasn't and availability was 12/30. Nonetheless I decided to go to the store this evening to see what they had in stock. The guy helping me initially said they didn't have anything in i7... then I asked him to double check.. he said he may have found a i7/8/512 in the back. When the computer came out, it ended up being i7/16/512... the one I was looking for.

Point is that don't rely on the online availability and even when you go in the store, they may not know what's in the back....

I called a couple stores today and they said they didn't have the 13" 3.3 in stock. I think I'll also trying going to a couple stores tomorrow after work. Thanks for the tip about calling them ultimate models. I'll try asking for that when I go to the store.

Fedex delivered! Been setting it up for hours with more to go (clean install, no migration). Very pleased so far, but might have more to do that it's replacing a 2009 MBP. First impressions, speakers are a huge improvement. Still not able to play bass heavy music, but they are pretty decent. And yes, the speaker grills are definitely fake. Sound not emanating from grills. Keyboard better than expected. Feels super small and dense. Actually like usb c only (link to my soapbox below). To reiterate my shipping stats:

Ordered 10/27 within 2 hours, 2-3 weeks 11/17-25 estimate, Fedex exactly on time on 11/17, 13" BTO 16/512 to San Francisco. Experienced Fedex tracking fun with shipping slowing to a crawl then making a mad dash for in time delivery. My advice to everyone, don't track and just sit back until you get the notifications from Apple. But I'm sure you won't listen, because I didn't.
