2016 Macbook Pro, Order/Shipping Thread

My 15 inch MacBook Pro changed to Preparing for Shipment yesterday afternoon. Ordered mid-afternoon on Oct. 28th. 512GB, BTO.
  • How long does it usually take to change from PFS to Shipped? Are we alerted via an email or text message that it was shipped?
  • I upgraded shipping with the $14 charge; does this mean my computer is being shipped via UPS or Fed Ex?
  • Is there anyway to see which method before Apple updates that it's shipped, since that is usually delayed?
  • Is there any chance it arrives on or before Saturday at this point? It hasn't changed to Shipped yet.

A little confused as to why it's FedEx? I thought UPS handled their shipping, but nonetheless I'm just excited it has finally shipped! I will keep everyone updated, maybe somehow I'll get it Friday:p

yup exact same situation.

MBP BTO 15" Maxed out w/ 1TB, Space Grey -> Dallas, TX shipped late last night, in Shanghai right now. Local FedEx facility. Maybe we are in the same batch??
FedEx says it will be at my door on the 28th but I think the same thing as you... I bet it gets here Friday. Who knows though... maybe thats just mainly what I'm hoping ;)

Can I ask how long it took from China to wherever you are at? How long was the process?

I'm in Toronto and my 13" BTO is still in transit. Left Shanghai on the 21st and now in Narita as of the 22nd. No further movement. UPS says they will deliver on the 28th.

Same as both of you. Trying to figure out what flight it will be on out of Shanghai. Looks like they may not be on a flight until tomorrow morning around 11AM. =/

Yes, it is. When I picked up my iPhone 7 and mentioned that it was for my Business, the salesperson mentioned the Business Service. I had no idea, but when I mentioned that I was after a new MBP too, she mentioned that the Business Team usually get new kit earliernto the store for Business customers only. At that point I said I was happy for them to take my email address....why not. Had a mail a little while back asking if there was anything I needed help with. But didn't need anything. Today I got another. I responded with 'don't suppose you've got any new MBP's coming in?'. 5 minutes later....'yes we have, they are coming into store tomorrow, would you like us to give you a call'.

You can all guess my email response.

No idea what specs they are getting in....didn't want to tempt fate by asking!

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Well three stores and bingo one in store 15 16gb,1tb,460 just as I ordered but silver instead of space grey. I grabbed it walking out of mall now. Canceled my online order. Like I sai I have no patience waiting. Lol

I think what we just have to accept is that it will be here on the delivery date proposed by the carrier. I need to delete the link and stop looking at where it's at every second because it's just making me more anxious. LOL
 
I have to laugh, I called to see if I could find out if a store in my area by chance has the configuration I have on order. I was told that store would never have that configuration. When I said that I had seen on forums people saying they had found that configuration and walked out having purchased it, the person said that these people posting that were not being honest. I believe she was the one not being honest. Not happy when people can't answer a simple question. I will either have to keep trying to check stores, or wait for my far off window of December 19-23.

15"/2.9/1TB/460 Space Gray Ordered on October 29th at 7pm. Finally went to PFS early yesterday morning and is still stuck in PFS mode lol

Well I just walked out of the store with one . Calling won't do it. You need to get a salesperson and look at stock over there damn shoulder. My silver had a question mark on their device for silver and space grey was a red X meaning nothing. Asked what the question mark he said less than 5 . He looked he said he had on e left put it on hold for the next sales person to grab it from stock. I went to 3 stores today. I'm migrating right now.

This is the second time I have done the same thing today and back in 2013. I did want the space grey but I'm not buying a car here I'm buying a tool. I got the config I wanted too end except only 1tb not 2.
 
Ordered on Nov 10th, currently in the December 19-23 window.

however I have heard many people are getting much earlier expectations. I REALLY hope it doesn't ship on like xmas eve or something like that. would suck SOO much.

When I called, she said there was no way they were selling a 2.9 GHz / 1TB / 460 model, and she said there would only be a 2.9 GHz / 2TB / 460 in stores, despite my protesting. I mentioned what people were getting in the forums, and she said she has been doing this for a long time, and they're incorrect or lying.

I'm guessing it was 2.9ghz? I really want a 2.6 gb with 1tb and 460 but none of the stores here have them

I wish that was the configuration they had. I know a lot of the time they have the max max config in stores, but it seems this year they figured the 2TB model would not be as popular. Based on the shipment threads here, 512GB and 1TB are way more common than 2TB.
 
Hmm I ordered on the 30th and I am quoted for getting it between the 29th and 6th. I still haven't seen any movement besides there being a temporary authorization on the Barclay card for the full amount for the computer. I'm hoping everything is ok and the Barclay card didn't screw anything up... :(

I ordered on the 30th and am worried it wont ship within 30 days. I called Apple and they told me that they'll charge me once they ship it. But, if it doesnt ship by Nov 30, then what? Do i not get the interest free payment anymore? That would be REALLY bad...lol

Well, I am finally home and I just got done setting up my new machine. Absolutely love it. Like almost everyone else has said, the keyboard will take some time to get used to, but I do not think it's going to be a problem.

This 15" screen is awesome compared to my 2012 13" MBP.

One very important thing I learned from this thread is to NEVER call Apple to "expedite" your order.

I hope the rest of you get yours in the mail soon and do not experience any issues with it all.

EDIT: 42 minutes later. I have finished setting up my bookmarks and what not and I am already used to the keyboard if that helps anyone relieve some worry about the keyboard.
